CWM Flashable Update
This is an update for those already running MiuniaBeta4. It will not install the kernel, modem or radio. It is simply a System Update.
Here is the Update file for CWM: Pulling CWM link due to high ram useage upgrading from beta 4 to this release
Known Bugs
The included Wireless tether is not working.
If you manually go into the system/app and install the app it will work.
I will have a patch out to fix this.
There is a small glitch with the launcher that sometimes happens when wiping data and dbdata which leaves the launcher empty. The simple fix is to long press on the screen, select add, shortcuts, and then application grid. Next drag the icon from the desktop to the launcher bar at the bottom and go from there.
Notes Details ETC.
One of the big things i wanted with this rom was to be as stable as possible. People have made comments about using a lot of ram. One thing i utilized with this build is a Sysctl.conf script. What this script does is alter specific parameters, in relation to the ram, which the kernel sets upon boot.
Some of you have noticed you run more ram than others. This is due to what applications you are running which stay running in the background. I could have put in strict memory management, and i did play with it a decent bit, however in the end all they did was cause force closes of background processes along with slow things down after the phone had been in idle for a while.
What i am doing now is utilizing imnuts memory management which he set in his kernel, along with a few specific memory management tweeks found in sysctl.conf. These drastically speed up the system, help with the ram, and help things run more smooth without killing the background apps that should be running.
If you would like to see specifically what i did, either in adb or terminal emulator, with root privileges(su) type in "sysctl -p" without the quotes.
The android os sets certain figures when it comes to the ram, one of which is when to start killing apps when space is getting low. This can be a good or a bad thing. The way the android system kills apps is when the ram gets so high the os looks at the processes and finds what's using the most ram. This can be a good thing, unless you want it to be running in the back. It then kills that application. a script i am looking at incorperating in the future alters this memory management function and instead of killing the app that is using the most ram it kills the apps which are idle and have not been modified/used.
So think about it. If the system is laggy with high ram, that's one thing, but if the ram is in a moderate state but everything is very snappy and fast, perhaps this is the phones sweet spot? this is what i have concluded... and most of you have seen the pictures where i've gotten the ram down to 125MB.
What does Miunia have to offer you?
Miunia is a minimalistic rom created for the sole purpose of speed and reliability; battery life and ease of use.
Like any other rom, there is potential for issues, however this is built with stability in mind.
So what has been done to make it what it is?

Install Instructions
Note: I recommend using the Odin file for install It has the least amount of issues.
Please refer to the continuum database provided to us by ciscogee to obtain any other files that may be needed.
You will need one of two programs in order to install via pc.
Odin
Heimdall
Samsung Drivers
These instructions will be left general as if you are unsure you should not attempt the install.
You must first ask yourself if you would like a Clean install(recommended) or if you would like to retain your personal data(has potential to cause issues)
Odin/Heimdall
You must first be on some sort of EC07 rom, if you are not please go here and flash a version of EC07.
Likewise, if you would like a Full, Clean install of Miunia, you should flash this prior to the miunia install.
Likewise, you can boot into CWM and format data, dbdata, cache, system, and dalvik cache(remember after this your phone will not boot and must be flashed)
Once you are at the point where you are comfortable and would like to continue, open either Heimdall or Odin(You must ensure the proper drivers are installed prior to this). Load up the appropriate files into the appropriate program. (miunia1.tar into odin, or zimage;factoryfs.rfs;modem.bin;recovery.bin into heimdall).
Connect up your phone into download mode, ensure the program recognizes it, and then select start.
CWM Update
This is exactly what it says, it's an update for those who are already running a previous version of Miunia. It can also be used as a system install if you are already running a EC07 rom.
To install this simply load up CWM, select to install a zip and select this.
If you would like to install via the CWM update, if you are not on an EC07 rom or a previous version of Miunia, i recommend you update to one first. If you are not running Imnuts custom kernel you will not have the memory scripts, auto root or boot animations.
Remember, upon first boot there is a possibility that it may take longer than expected, just give it time.
Themes
Once a few themes come out they will go here.
For those of you that would like to do some theming the following zip file contains the complete App and Framework folder.

that is how much ram is being used, so on a normal basis if nothing is running in the background it hovers between 140 and 155mb used ram, give or take.
sorry for the delay, i am doing final testing making sure it is in fact ready for people to flash.

Oh awesome, you chipped like 80mb off since the last time I was debugging! Looking forward to that, should be lightning fast! My girlfriends getting mad so I'm going to have to wait to flash until after she falls asleep. I'll write up a new report by tomorrow morning with questions, comments, suggestions. Glad to be back on board.
Installation instructions
Boot into CWM recovery and format the system, data, dbdata and cache
Go down to advanced and wipe dalvik cache
Now open Odin and locate miuniabeta2.tar.md5 within the PDA location(i assume you have unzipped the downloaded file) It must be opened within PDA
Put your phone in download mode. connect it to your pc and click start within odin.
Once completed boot your phone up, it will take a while.
Once the boot animation has completed the screen will go black for about a minute. This is expected and i am aware of this. The phone will boot up so be patient. Don't worry, it was alarming to me the first time.
Initially the phone will be sluggish because of everything it has to go through, but let it do it's thing.
Once the screen comes on go through the startup process when it asks you about the launcher, choose launcher, not quicklaunch.
VERY IMPORTANT: In order for quick launch to opperate properly when the warning that states "for doublt tap to work. QuickDesk need to be set as default home app" you must hit set or a specific feature will not work.
Initially the system will be slow, but once everything is good, do a quick reboot and the phone should be MUCH better

Ok, I hich of these do I need to download? The'current version' in the op or the link in your last post? Also, did you incorporate stock market, or do I need to flash that separately after install? Thx
sent from my gutted and modded continuum, courtesy of adrynalyne, imnuts, and trailblazer
they are both the same thing. so either or
Congrats on the rom release man! Welcome to the continuum forum!
do you know how to turn off the 3d drawer i really dont like it
Got caught up last night so unfortunately downloading now... quite slowly. I'm going to try to have it flashed soon so I can use it though-out the day and I'll check back in tonight with some thoughts and junk.
Edit:.. side note while I'm thinking of it.
I know this is tiny nothing detail bs, but you should include
the space wallpaper from the EC07_clean rom and also,
has anyone thought about some dock options or settings.
I used a good EC03 ROM for a day or so and it sucked (it
was ec03...) but they dock for the launcher was beautiful.
Can't remember the name off the top of my head but I'll see
if I can find it to give you a peek at what I'm talking about.
Customizable docks FTW.
EDIT Edit:.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1203597
That's what I'm craving. If you find it in ya to include it ya know, gimme a shout!]
Okay I'm in, and the first thing I'm noticing is that BING is on my F**kin homepage -.- I think I'm going to be sick.

A new version is now out, and it contains some major improvements in terms of performances and speed. It has Las_Venturas 1.0RC3+ kernel packed (thanks @jordfaz), the new camera fix (thanks @stritfajt), the scripts are now up and running (thanks @riemer for the tip), fixed app2sd and cache2cache script, Habarug's modded Phone.apk (disabled the red hang up button), a new Evervolv Toolbox + a superb boot animation (probably the best boot animation I've saw from 2009 till now). It also includes a nice script called 13cpuspeed from where you can set your own values and governor. You can see the values changed in evervolv toolbox under performance tab.
Right now when you flash the zip, the cpu speed is OC'd at: 264-652 smartass V2. I suggest you increase the min value to 352mhz. I've done this to avoid flashing a 'safe' kernel on top of the rom for those heroes that cannot support higher cpu speeds and also it's a safe way to change your values from within the script, no need for 3rd party app.
Why it is improved? Because in v2 and lower, the scripts were lying in init.d but they did not activate on boot thus making them basically useless.
But there is one more script left in init.d that it's not working. This is the *****! '02ramconfig'. This basically sets the internal task killer to higher values giving our hero a little boost in speed. I have tried many ways to force it to start. IT seems that when the boot animation is on, the values are set according to the script, after that, the values turn to normal.
We will investigate this further as we move our focus towards 4.0.5 when the sources are out. But at the time being I will show you other ways to activate the script, so don't delete it:
Keep in mind that you need to do it on every boot. Just choose a way that suits you best and do it every time you reboot your phone.
1. install AMM - auto memory management - from the market, and set it at mild or agressive.
2. If you have android sdk installed on your computer, just make this:
enter cmd and navigate to your android-sdk\platform-tools
Connect your device (make sure you have usb debugging enabled from settings).
Type adb shell and now you should type this command:
Code:
echo 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000 > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
after this, to see if the values are set, you can try this:
Code:
cat /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
and if it looks like this; 1536,3072,4096,21000,23000,25000 you are ready to go.
3. If you have 'Root Explorer.apk' you can press on any of the script from init.d (minfree, cpuspeed) and select run as Linux Script Handler -> Execute.
And the values should fire up. Note: for cpu speeds, do this after you've changed your cpu settings using a text viewer (explorer works also).
I suggest you all guys flash this latest version because includes almost all major fixes and the call drop should be fixed in this. Also, you can install apex launcher for a better performance, you will never regret it. You can enable some cool features that LV Kernel comes packed with (zRam or Kernel samepage merging briefly known as ksm). I suggest play with ksm and see how it goes.
Another nice tweak you can make to increase performance is to limit the processes to only "4" from settings-developer options-background process limit. You can play with this value as well but I suggest leaving it at 4 if you want to be enabled.

* Recommended Flashing Instructions * *YOU CAN USE CWM OR AMON_RA***
1 - full wipe: data + cache + dalvik cache
2 - flash lights format all
3 - flash the ROM zip
4 - flash the kernel from above if youre phone does not support cpu settings of 652Mhz
5 - reboot: the first boot will take awhile
6 - ensure everything is loaded and settled by letting the screen timeout and waiting a minute or so before waking it up and proceeding
7 - go through the google setup wizard and then wait another couple mintes to allow the rest of the ROM to load up and any google data to sync
8 - reboot and allow things to load up again
9 - everything should now be ready to go
* Tips *
Enable "Force GPU Rendering" in "Settings - Developer Options" (it helps flinger to be more smooth).
Disable "Report usage and errors" in "Apex Settings - Advanced settings".
Use setcpu.apk or similar overclock app
Use autokiller.apk or similar taskkiller app
In settings->developer options: make sure window & transition animations are off
In settings->language & input->android keyboard: turn off popup/vibrate on keypress
Can open a running apps list by long-pressing the home button & swipe(or long-press) to clear (useful if an app won't open or system slows down to clear out some memory)
Disabling an app is very easy in ICS: either through the manage app screen or by dragging a particular app from the drawer to the "app info" section displayed at the top of the screen, you'll find a button to disable that app
Performance-wise it could be worthwhile to play around with the "background process limit" and "don't keep activities" options in settings->developer options
The ICS launcher makes it simple to create & use folders: just drag one icon on top of another, let go, and they will now be in a folder together which you can name whatever you like.
Apex settings - drawer settings - Disable Show Widgets tab (it helps on app drawer faster open/close).

@Habarug : yeah sloow download speed, it will take 1 hour to download the rom but I am patient
Edit: I flashed it after a full wipe, but not even after waiting 30 minutes it never passed beyond the splash screen (HERO screen), so it was in a bootloop.. gonna try to download the rom again when i get home from work.
Okay, I finally got it working here. Keyboard and pulldown and such is really smooth! but lots of apps, like search, browser, email, voice search etc is FCing all the time :/ Even Launcher is, so I can't use it ....
Edit: trying to reflash
Edit2: ....this is so awesome
Edit3: I'll try this today There are some resize issues, like the statusbar widgets being really high, I can try to fix it when I have time

has anyone actually gotten this to boot? anyway, try the CM9 launcher, it looks exactly like native ICS launcher but with more options and on glassmacka rom it was reported to be faster than the native launcher

The rom boots!!
be sure to wipe all data and system (format boot, data, system and cache in recovery)
I use my ROM for A several days now and I can say that the rom is very fast
there is no need to install other launchers.
if you like you can allways install other launchers.
Thank you so much for this ROM!
After having it installed and used it only briefly I must say it works pretty smooth. It's not slow at all! Feels great that our old HTC is still in the game!
I can confirm that its fast and stable

Thank you,
I do my best for our hero
However, I will need help to solve the problem with the error when searching for other mobile networks.
finger crossed...
Is this rom ported from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352170 this?
In aplha 1.0 yes, I had a lot of problems making it work right because the port didnt work well.
The other builds are made by me.
I have use the camera base as the base for our camera

flashing "OpenGL_2.0_by_harut56.zip" will turn the rom's "ro.opengles.version=131072" into "ro.opengles.version=65537" ... isn't that going to revert OpenGL from 2.0 to 1.1 or am I wrong and confused?

please test it again
Thank you for that
no problem gonna leave my phone to charge for a while .. it's at 3% , I'm gonna flash the rom in a few hours.

Features :
PAL, First time in Android history that Per-App-Layout has been realized
This rom features a setting called Per-App-Density - PAD. It basically allows you to scale apps, make them bigger or smaller. This is a must for tablet mode since it shrinks your apps considerably, making them useless. you can even scale widgets and framework components like the navigationbar. You can define an apps native DPI with it, make it look stock, smaller or bigger than that, your decision.
All apps are depicted at DPI 182 per standard. No other rom has that feature right now
Google Play does not allow density changes and will stop working if you mess around with that. This rom fixes that problem for you 100%.
More stuff: Recents window closer to stock, fixes for overlapping elements, framework fixes, no crashes, working Phone (looks 100% like stock aswell),Sense 4 Recent Apps too etc.

TUTORIAL
How to change DPI for individual app - Thanks to The Gingerbread Man
You will need;
1 A root level file explorer like root explorer
2 A little patience
To perform the changes
So you need to find out if the app you want to change the dpi level for is either a system or data app, to do this open your file manager and look in system/app or data/app. You need to then long press the app you want and press rename. Then copy the app name by long pressing the text and press copy, dont copy any .apk or -1 at the end of the name.
Then navigate to system folder and look for pad.prop. press the mount rw button then long press open in text editor. So now you need to remember where you found your chosen app, was it system or data? If system long press under then system header or if it was a data app look for the apps header. To paste your app name in the right place find a empty line, long press then paste. You need to add at the start of the line for your app pa.
Nearly there!
So next at the end you need to add .dd= and then your chosen dpi level.
So for example for apex, I have it as a system app and my line in pad.prop for apex looks like
pa.com.anddoes.launcher.dd=221
Then you need to press menu key, then save and exit. Restart your app and it should display how you want

Pad.PROP
pad.prop
BACKUP YOURS BEFORE JUST IN CASE YOU DON'T LIKE MINE!
A personal Pad.Prop setup, that I enjoy the most, when the rom starts up again, goto apex settings turn the sections: margrin size to "None" for both vertical and horizontal, then set your grid to something like 4x4 or 5x4 for both aswell, (the orginal size I believe is 4x4 but I like 5x4, and also I have searchbar locked into the homescreen like on a tablet, I feel this gives ME the perfect mix of tablet/phone.
No need to fix roaming, I was able to write it into the rom.
Mirror as you must, but when you do, let me know in a PM and I'll post them in the thread.
IF you have have any problems I would like to keep them in one place for fixing, try emailing me at [email protected] if you're email illiterate PM me from xda, but I prefer my email.
IF you still have problems with the dialer and all try changing all paranoid android settings to phone or phone stock, I MEAN ALL! And if that doesnt work:
, try downloading another dialer that isnt stock or Go
If you got it working then you can change the DPI settings around just im not sure which ones make the phone brink
Although I believe it is configure which you need to keep Phone(Stock) or tablet (stock)

Thanks I have fixed it now!
I ran into something with the market though a lot of apps aren't showing up. I have reasobto believe its from the density though hopefully can be fixed by tomorrow
I love the tablet UI! Rom booted up fine.
Edit: About phone in the settings causes it to crash.
Thanks, will give it a try.
I am looking into that, I personally am so angry about that. also did either of you two see if market seemed more empty then usual?
That would be nicer if you could put fm radio in the rom!

yeah. it is a known PA issue if it is ported on CM9. I've talked with one of the PA's builders, molesarecoming, and he said that if you take the latest PA files and put them onto a JB rom, the market issue will disappear.
If you want to not have market problems, take my pad.prop from the latest build. The status bar is stock but with much smaller dpi and I'm having a lot of apps forced into tablet mode from the start. That's how you will not have issues with the market. If you want to have the status bar down, like a tablet, you will have to: either modify the framework-res dpi when in that mode, or the systemUI, though the framework makes problems to the market.

The boot img is in the rom, just pull it right out and use the one in the zip, if that doesn't work let me know and I will see about posting it up there, but it should be that one if not I would need JMZ to port his boot.img back up from cm9 before I could, I cannot find it on my computer right now but it might be in one of the older files I have.
also try a wipe of Data, Cache, and system. to make sure that that is not the problem

Try checking your Superuser app, to see if you accidently denied it or if the Superuser app needs updating. If that does not work, try downloading another superuser app from the market and try doing what you were trying to do at the time, the problem occurred. If that does not work please try PMing me with as much info about it that you can, possibly a logcat while you attempt to do what you are trying to do. I will look into it from there.

I humbly present to you the final chapter of the WildChild ROM trilogy.
WildChild 3 is here, and it's pretty cool, if I may say so myself.
Why is it cool?
Well, first of all, it's based on the native Sense 2.1 GUI and runs on Android "Gingerbread" 2.3.5. That means all the features of your phone are actually gonna work under this ROM (e.g. camera, proximity sensor, WiFi, etc.). I don't mean to slag CM7/CM9/ICS/JB, but when it comes to ROMs, I want one that fully exploits my phone, thank you very much.
That being said, this is very much a Sense-less ROM, so don't bother asking if your HTC Clock or <insert favourite Sense widget here> will work with WildChild 3. Chances are, it won't. Sense is stripped out in favour of speed and customization. I hope you find the trade-off as agreeable as I do. In typical WildChild fashion, this ROM is themed right down to the APK level and looks quite nice in both a black cocktail dress as well as ripped blue jeans. It blazes through benchmark tests; and is extremely stable - making WildChild 3 the perfect ROM for you and your loved ones. No animals were harmed (too badly) in the making of WildChild 3.
WildChild is dedicated to my two WildChilds: Joshua and Matteo.
HTC Sense 2.1-based, with the Sense launcher+widgets removed.
OS = Android "Gingerbread" 2.3.5.
Based on latest European RUU - 2.26.401.3.
Rooted, in case your mother asks.
Latest BusyBox (v1.19.4)
All APKs are ZipAligned. Your RAM says, "Thank you".
Einstein Frat's "Dust v9.0" overclocked kernel.
(Please see the note about overclocked kernels in my FAQ Post #3, below.)
Adreno200 libs integrated.
Lots of build.prop tweaks for speed and battery optimization.
Removed A2SD (ROM is solely Link2SD now).
Running the latest Nemus launcher (themed by me). This launcher has a task manager; the ability to organize your apps into folders; lock the layout of your home-screen icons; use any combination of [3|4|5] x [3|4|5] app drawer grid; and other wacky crap.)
Some stock HTC APKs replaced with newer/more-efficient/prettier versions.
Older, faster, Google Market (though you can easily flash the newer version).
Old SMS text messaging (See above. Your precious screen space isn't wasted by those annoying text bubbles!).
aCalendar replaces the stock HTC calendar. (supports repeating entries)
All installed APK's are at the latest version (at the time this post was published).
Wake the phone (from sleep mode) by using the volume rocker switch.
WildChild 3.0 is fully modular and highly configurable. Just check the Add-On's section (Post #2, below) regularly.
Stock keyboard & browser replaced (with TouchPal swype and Dolphin Mini, respectively).
Rock Solid. Lots of stability improvements were made from WC2 to WC3. Hopefully, you will encounter NO force-closes and NO reboots when installing apps. I mean, you shouldn't have encountered those at all with WC2, but now even Chuck Norris can't break WC3.
Features unique to WildChild:
Beautifully and painstakingly themed, down to the app-level (hope ya like blue!)
Modified SMS notification icon for task bar (the stock looked too much like the Email icon... not anymore!)
Funky volume up/down indicator sounds.
Font tweaks (the lockscreen clock is actually READABLE now).
Almost 1MB of notification sounds (one can never have enough!)
Better boot-up and boot-down animations than WildChild 2 (according to my wife, and she says she's never wrong... about anything.)
Unique lockscreen created by Tigger31337: a ring of (Wild)fire against the setting moon.
Well, I think this is unique to WildChild 3, 'cuz the actual read_ahead_kb buffer size is actually hard-coded to a value other than 128kB! (I haven't seen this done properly on ANY other ROM so far.) Lots of folks say to set it to 1 or 2 MB. I found 512kB worked nicely for our phone (and poorly at 1MB), but I'm all ears if you want this changed.
Tested (and works flawlessly!) on Wildfire S GSM (Marvel a510e). Might work on CDMA; might not. Who the hell knows.
Just like his lazy, out-of-work brother, WildChild 2, WildChild 3 comes in 2 flavours: Odex and DeOdex.
I used to make a LITE and FULL version of WC2, but I'm not sure if I can deal with people asking me why Google accounts aren't synching with their LITE versions anymore, so I think I'll eliminate that hassle (or at least postpone it sufficiently).
For now, I'll stick with two flavours: Odex vs. DeOdex.
XDA Forums does a fantastic job of explaining the difference, so I won't do that here.
If in doubt (or extremely lazy and want to avoid reading) go for the Odex and enjoy the extra storage space.
WC3 DeOdex ROM = 41.11 MB /data space available (easily more, once you start deleting apps) and 92 MB free on /system.
WC3 Odex ROM = 88.11 MB /data space available and 67 MB free on /system.
WildChild 3 comes with the following applications already built-in:
aCalendar
Adobe Flash Player v11
CalendarSnooze
CPUSpy
Dolphin Mini Browser
DoodleDroid
Flashlight
GPSStatus
Link2SD
Nemus Launcher
NoFrills CPU

ROM Toolbox Lite
Root Browser

PRE-INSTALLATION TASKS:
Before flashing WildChild 3.0, BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP.
There. I've said it three times, now. Any data you lose is, therefore, your own problem.
That being said, I've exhaustively tested the install of WildChild 3 under various test scenarios over the course of weeks -- haven't had a single glitch yet. You're in good hands.
Once you've got your stuff backed up, here's a tip to make your life easier. Assuming you are currently running a previous version of WildChild, hop into your Nemus launcher and take a BACKUP of your Homescreen setup. (Launcher Settings --> Other --> Backup & Restore). If you do this, you can then RESTORE your launcher settings after flashing WC3 and save time that could be better spent surfing for pornography.
INSTALLATION TASKS:
(You really should know these steps by now, but for tradition's sake...)
Prepare and partition your SDCard. (Folks seem to enjoy a FAT32; a 1 or 2 GB ext4 (I use ext2); and a 512MB Linux Swap... in that order. And all partitions are Primary).
Copy the WildChild ROM .zip file to your SDCard.
Reboot into Recovery mode.
Wipe data/factory reset. (Do this twice, especially if on CWM)
Wipe Dalvik cache. (Twice, as above)
"Install zip from SDCard".
(You might have to toggle Signature Verification until it is Disabled)
Read the ROM's splash screen and wait about 1 minute while it pollutes your phone.
Reboot phone; wait another 2-3 mins while WC3 does its thang.
When the lockscreen FiRE RiNG appears, yank it (uhmm, the ring, that is) and start using your phone!
Enjoy! ...and throw a "Thanks" my way! ...a donation of buck or two for the WildChild Fund wouldn't hurt, either. (Please note: There is no such thing as the WildChild Fund. I will probably spend the cash on beer.)
So, you've bought into all the hype and finally threw WildChild 3 on your phone. Now what?
Well, for starters...
If you took a Nemus backup prior to flashing WC 3.0, then now's a good time to restore it. It'll save you from recreating all your folders, shortcuts, and launcher preferences again.
Launch SuperSU and update the binary (one-time task)
Pick 'n Choose your apps! If there's something on this phone you don't like, it's easy to remove it. For USER apps, simply remove the app using your launcher. For SYSTEM apps, you can remove them using the built-in Link2SD app. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you may even try converting USER apps to SYSTEM apps (and vice versa), also by using Link2SD.
Play with the Startup Manager. ROMs are not customized to YOUR personal usage habits, and WildChild is no exception. So spend a couple of minutes in the Startup Manager app and disable things you don't need from starting up automatically. (e.g. For me, it's ROM Toolbox, Titanium Backup, Market, Maps, and FM Radio.) This does not mean that you are deleting or disabling these apps... it just means you're preventing their receiver from launching automatically after bootup. In essence, you'll save RAM by disabling 'em.
Move your apps with Link2SD! For the uninitiated, I highly recommend creating an extra partition on your SD card (say 1 or 2 GB) and then LINKING your large (or rarely used) apps over to the SD card. There are plenty of good articles written about this on XDA forums, so do yourself a favour and start using Link2SD regularly. (Although, I do not recommend using their "Auto Link" function, as this eats up about 10 MB RAM.)
Some tweaks to help with performance/battery-life:
OS Settings: Sounds: disable vibration feedback.
OS Settings: Display: Disable Auto-rotate and then Disable All Animations (I disabled the CRT animation for WC3, anyway)
OS Settings: Connect to PC: Disable "Ask me"
OS Settings: Power: Disable Power Saver and Disable Fast Boot
OS Settings: Language & Keyboard: (TouchPal) Disable Vibration on Type
OS Settings: About Phone: Software Updates: Disable the Scheduled Check
CPU Settings: Max = 768Mhz, Min = 122Mhz. Gov = Scary. You know I'm a fan of Scary. Nobody else even mentioned this governor for WFS until WildChild 2.0. Scary gives you a decent balance between performance and battery life (with priority on the latter). Set the scheduler to sio and you can't go wrong.
Launcher Settings: Tweak these as you see fit. Most changes here are cosmetic, but some are performance-related. Take the time go go through each setting; you'll get more out of your phone.
p.s. You should know, Nemus laucher has a left/right-swipeable dock (the bottom "bar" where app shortcuts are held). That same dock is also up/down swipeable (for Lock settings). Just sayin'.

The Add-Ons got too big to share Post #1.
You can find them, sitting all smugly, in Post #2, below.
Also, be sure to check out the News & FAQ, regularly, over at Post #3.
Too much pressure to get this ROM uploaded... so screenshots have been neglected for now.
Check back soon. All I can offer is that, "it's pretty fuqn similar to WildChild 2.0, except a lot sexier". Enjoy.
[UPDATE]
KelvinWild has graciously supplied some in Post #19.
Thank you, sir.
The WildChild series of ROMs is known around the galaxy for being very modular. Basically, I try to make it easy for you to rip sh1t out and put stuff in. What kind of stuff? I dunno... mostly it's the stuff you guys request, and sometimes it's stuff I think would be neat.
Each of these Add-Ons comes in a flashable zip format. You pick one from the list below, throw it on your SD card, and then install it the way you would a custom ROM (i.e. choose the "install zip from SD card" option, if you were using CWM). Once it's done, you reboot. Typically, you don't install Add-Ons back-to-back (unless specified otherwise). You should reboot in between each Add-On you flash.
Check here often; latest Add-Ons are placed at the bottom of the list.

stock Google Market (aka Play Store)

KERNELS:
I take no credit for these kernels, but they are all fantastic (in my opinion) and created by the same author: Einstein Frat.
Give 'em a whirl and see where you end up.
In chronological order of kernel build date, they are:
Dust 8.8
Dust 8.9 (default kern. for WildChild 1.1)
Dust 9 (default kern. for WildChild 3.3)
Cake 0.9 (default kern. for WildChild 1.5)
Cake 1.4 (default kern. for WildChild 2.0)
DCPLX1 v1.1 (default kern. for WildChild 3.0)
The following stock kernel is provided by baluuu (Post #68). It runs at a max. of 600 Mhz, uses only userspace/ondemand/performance governors, and noop/deadline/cfq schedulers.
For anyone still experiencing installation issues with overclocked ROMs, this is the kernel for you. Flash your ROM and then flash this kernel immediately afterwards (no reboot after flashing ROM, but reboot after flashing stock kernel.)
stock HTC kernel (April 17, 2011) 600 Mhz Max.
###### ADD-ONS FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF WILDCHILD ######
(Confirmed working on WildChild v3)
BeRo File Manager. (All WildChild ROMs come with a file manager built-in, but some lesser ROMs do not. Keep this handy on your SD card and you can always flash it into your crappy ROM to access your files/apps on SD.)

FAQ and NEWS

[Aug 24] Critical Updates.
Nemus Launcher has an update which fixes a "badge crash" on the version I supplied with WildChild 3 (which was the latest and greatest at the time of release).
Also, SuperSU has an update as well.
Please apply BOTH the SuperSU and Nemus updates as they are critical and may address any issues you're having with the ROM. I'll try to roll both of them up into a flashable zip. Check Post #2.
[Aug 21] WildChild 3.3 uploaded. This version supersedes all previous versions. If you come to me for support or with questions/comments/requests, I will assume it is in regards to this version.
WC 3.3 addresses the (unfortunate) owners of WFS hardware with "gimpy" CPU chips. WC33 runs the Dust 9.0 kernel at values that are "gentler" on your weak CPU. Those who have problems with overclocked ROMs in general (mine being no exception) should have better luck with this setup. If you're still struggling, even after WC 3.3, then please check the Add-Ons Section for a flashable stock kernel that defaults to 245 Mhz.
[Aug 21] Author Request. Is there anyone here who's good at graphic arts (i.e. not me) that can whip together a really quick icon/logo thingy for WildChild 3? The one in my signature (WC2) is looking a little stale. Hopefully it's something that incorporates some graphic element of the WC3 ROM (i.e. the fire ring, wallpaper colours, etc.)
I'd be forever in your debt, and you'd get all kinds of mad props and recognition from me over in Post #1. Thanks, in advance!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q. "Will my <insert Sense app/widget here> work with your ROM?"
A. Probably not. Please read the original Post #1 and you'll see that Sense has been purposefully stripped from this ROM. You're free to put it back, although I suspect that if it's a Sense ROM you're after, you'd probably enjoy my WildChild Sense ROM better. Ask for it, by name, at finer retailers near you. (Or click here.)
Q. "Weird sh1t is happening with my phone. It locks/freezes/recites bad Vogon poetry at 3:00am. What's wrong?!"
A. I'm going to give my standard answers to 99% of the problems I receive. Here they are, in no particular order:
1) Please confirm you are using a GSM (a510e) phone. CDMA is cool, but not officially supported by this ROM.
2) Please confirm you aren't trying to boot straight into an 820 Mhz + performance governor scenario, and then complaining of all kinds of reboots and force closes (especially if this happened to you with other ROMs in the past). If this is your problem, chances are you are the proud owner of a "gimpy CPU" Wildfire. Find a better, slower kernel (see my Add-Ons Post #2) and then scale upwards from there.
I love getting email and reply to it all. (Yes, all... eventually). If you promise me that you've ruled out #1 and #2, above, then I promise you help to the best of my ability.
love you bro.. ...am waiting

You have done it again ! Wow and again providing options to people Well I could say, you Rock !
Well screw this ****, Im downloading it.
I was always a ICS fan but I will give it a go.
Hello , I`m excited about this new ROM of yours, this will be the first tima I`m using WC at all. Just wanderring where is the ODEX download link . Thanks in advance for the job you`ve done. If i had a debit card I`d buy you a beer
Geting stuck on splash screen did you test it ? From my previous experience with DcplX kernel doesnt realy agree with the newes RUU. Dust seems much more stable overall. Or maybe just freq too high for my poor wfs whats the default clock ?
Edit: Nvm just flashed dust So far so smooth.
Stuck on HTC screen :'(
Update: Well after 2-3 trys it booted up. First boot got stuck at htc screen for about 3-4 minutes.
Me too, wiped data 3 times, wiped dalcik 2 times.
Installed. It doesnt stop rebooting
Well I got a question.
I need friendstream. I pulled out apk from disciple 1's 1.1 ROM and pushed it. Its opening but it says no account logged in. I can't find add account setting for friendstream in Accounts and sync. Am i missing any apk? Please let me know ASAP.
Well, that's too bad some of you are unable to run the DCPL kernel. It's really quite stable (and has the Conservative governor, which I'm actually growing quite fond of).
For the sake of compatibility, I have removed WC3.0 and will re-pack it with the Cake v0.9 kernel (I'll offer the DCPL kernel as an Add-On, for those folks whose hardware can actually support it!)
Please check Post #1 again for the WC 3.1 download link.

Thank you sir.. right now i'm downloading deodex version... I don't know but the previously version, sometimes makes my ws shut off itself and forces me to take off the battery and put it again to make it back to normal.... Hope it will never happen again with this rom. Thank you Tiger!
EDIT: Wifi is not working... or "Wifi Error"
Anyways I solved that friendstream problem.
BTW Trigger, how do I change lockscreen shortcuts? Whenever I open personalise menu it just goes to home screen, As far i know we need original sense launcher to change it right?
So if i flash original rosie from WC2 will it work?
Help me please.

Wifis not working for me
mod: now I restarted (got scared with that shotdown logo xD ), and the phone frozed at the red/white ring animation
mod2: now it booted, could be the problem that no frills cpu max was 787, my phone frozes above 768.
..wifi still not working, cant even switch on, it says: problem
Kronic BlueMod V 4.3 / V5.1 for 4.2 framework
- i posted v5 on a reply... wasn't thinking it's on page 1.
- it is normal for first boot to take a long time after flashing mod, during this time the system is updating the cache partitions new drawables etc because system files changed. 1-3 minutes maybe. if it starts to take really long then flash backup zip or reflash the rom you were using to patch the files back to normal, this shouldn't really happen though unless you get currupt download or flash to incompatible rom.
for bell based v20f, also works on most other v20f but some icons may need to be swapped.
- to backup original ui, make a copy of this zip, open the copy with 7-zip, replace /system/app/systemui.apk and /system/framework/framework-res.apk with the CURRENT ones from your phone (adb pull them or something) then rename the copied zip originalUI.zip and put it on your sdcard, in case something goes wrong you can reflash it to go back to default.
- to install just flash the zip in recovery mode, do not wipe cache partitions, the android OS will update them when it sees changed files.
enjoy!!!!
p.s. i don't take responsibility for you breaking your phone.
if you aren't confident in moding these files, but you want something changed just post what it is and i'll do my best to provide you with a personal patch. if there is an icon i missed on the rom you use, let me know and i'll update. (many roms use differant icons)
- if this doesn't work with your rom you can request that i write one specifically for your rom and i may do it.
i do intend on adding other color versions of this so feel free to request colors.
this UI mod is intended to make the amazingly stable and battery friendly v20f a real option by making it pretty.
other additions i recommend are:
power toggles (has a homescreen widget that add's reboot menu with recovery option and bypasses reflashing on reboot by this i just mean a faster reboot by using a root reboot command instead of stock reboot which takes forever)
pocket skip track (allows you do add screen off track switching functionality to stock roms.)
mx camera (gives you hdr camera options without removing 1080p video capabilities like cm10.1)
apex launcher (jelly bean style launcher with lots of options)
exdialer ( a good free dialer with some really nice theme's i bought a payed one for 2 dollars or something that's black and blue)
MHL works on stock roms (micro usb -> hdmi -> tv)
the rom i recommend to run with this is
the legend Ho!No!'s v20f mod 2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185178
happy texting !!!
the other feature of this is it should theoretically run smoother than stock files due to less compression.
i will also be posting email.apk LGMms.apk LGCalendar.apk with some better black theme's
this mod is not new but i'm just trying to make a universal one for v20f now, i already have alot of happy users.
--added in 4.3 is standard black background with blue text (on title bar) for any apps or widgets that use default framework values, so far on mine it works for quite a few.
i don't think this will work on roms that aren't deodexed
Kronics BlueMod V5
V5.1 has a few divider fixes and the tab for slider panels/quicksettings in status_bar_expanded
the lockscreen is for pattern lock check attachment if u wanna see it
the screenshot for the quicksettings panel is from before the cyan color was fixed to neon blue
screenshot 16 is V4.3 the others are 5.0, in 5.1 the bottom tab color is fixed on screenshot 26
in 5.0+ BlueMod tag is removed i decided the average person probably doesn't want it.
in 5.1 the bottom bar in expanded panel color is fixed
- i did more work to framework-res to change more of the default backgrounds and font color's for 3rd party apps and such, there are a few system apps that i think have to be modded individually because it didn't apply for them, but you should see some of your apps starting to inherit the theme.
for the pattern lock mod, i disable the showing of the lines because it's extremely hard to mod, it's done in some equation in a smali file somewhere that is differant location on most phones, until someone that has a strong grasp of smali that uses LG phones takes a look i can't mod that
reserved for secondary files
if you want to learn to do your own mod's, or fix something i missed on your rom, the tutorial can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362717
Kronics BlueMod v5
This has only been tested on the rom with 4.2 framework v20f, if someone wants to try flashing it on a non updated framework v20f and let me know if it works that is cool, if not i'll do it when i get a chance, if u do it backup your original files to a flash first.
i already fixed the highligher on the bottom tab for settings panel that is slightly the wrong color (greenish) coming in next update
i'm currently investigating the issue that is causing long reboots on every reboot instead of the first one after install. it doesn't seem to be affecting system performance but i know that is probably annoying people so i'm looking into fixing it.
edit i wiped all drives and installed the rom without the mod and it was only 15 seconds or so faster boot, i think this rom just has a long boot (the 4.2 framework one)

This ROM is based on AOSP KitKat. I wanted to release something before the holidays, so LucidPhusion was born! This is as close as you're going to get to the G2 experience on KitKat! Most G2 items are present, a few are not, and a few new items have been added. But as with any custom ROM, I aim to make this better than stock, so I think everyone will be pleased...
I have tested as much as possible, above and beyond. However, if someone finds a bug or error, please let me know. DO NOT PM me as others may have the same issue and it is better to answer it once here than a thousand times through PMs.
Please read this OP carefully before posting questions as many answers can be found here. To reiterate, PLEASE READ THIS OP CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING QUESTIONS. Other answers may already be in the posts of this thread...
CHANGES
v1.1
-LG G2 Lock Screen added
-LG G2 Weather added
-LG G2 Weather Widget added
-LG G2 Application Manager added
-Changed status bar to hide
-Changed status bar to be transparent
-Status bar can be pulled down during lock screen
-Google Play Store manual update added
-Custom kernel added
v1.0
-All my normal goodies, including GPS, APN, ad blocking, and speed & battery tweaks
-Enhanced sound
-LG G2 QuickRemote
-LG G2 Keyboard
-LG G2 Launcher
-LG G2 apps (most)
-Themed app alternatives
LG CAMERA
The LG camera included is far from perfect, but it will get the job done! There are a couple issues such as front-facing camera, burst mode, and panorama create FC's. It is recommended to install another camera for these features.
The ROM has been set to a different DPI so that the title of some apps are not hidden. However, this makes the LG camera resize its viewing area to be smaller. It does not hinder quality or take smaller pictures, but this can be an annoyance for some. If you wish to reverse this, please check ISSUES & FIXES.
WIRELESS STORAGE
"Wireless Storage" is an actual app, it just doesn't show up anywhere but in the pull-down settings of the stock G2 ROM. I went ahead and found the easiest alternative imaginable called, "WiFi File Transfer".
Open the app and click "Start Service". There will be a FTP address. Do not place this address in a web browser, open up My Computer and type the address into that window. A web browser will only allow downloading (not uploading) from the phone.
NAVBAR TRANSPARENCY ENABLER
If the need for extra real estate is a must, then I've got you covered! Download and flash this file. This ZIP will install an app called "full!screen".
Enable Soft Keys
1) When the phone reboots open "full!screen".
2) The app will look for root, grant root permissions when prompted.
NOTE: It may state that no root is found at first, but about 2-3 minutes later a popup will appear asking to grant root permissions.
3) If the button to enable "full!screen mode" is still grayed out, reboot the phone.
4) Open "full!screen" again, and click the "full!screen mode" button.
5) The native navbar and soft keys are now gone and replaced by two unobtrusive soft keys.
NOTE: If using TWRP, do not flash this with other ZIPs.
Flash this file to delete the "full!sceen" app and enable the native soft keys.
KNOCKON ENABLER
There are two options to have a fuller KnockOn experience:
Lock Screen Widget - KnockOff
1) Download and flash the "Lock Screen Widget".
2a) Open the app.
2b) OPTIONAL: Go into "Lock Icon Options" and configure the app to be invisible and at its largest size. Position it somewhere on the home screen (the center is ideal).
4) Click on the widget to get an activation screen, and confirm.
5) Click the invisible widget to lock the screen.
Lock Screen Widget - ShakeOff
1) Download and flash the "Lock Screen Widget".
2) Open the app.
3) Turn off "Show lock icon".
4) Turn on "Shake lock".
5) Shake the phone for a few seconds to get an activation screen, and confirm.
6) The phone will now lock the screen when shaken.
Flash this file to delete the "Lock Screen Widget" app.
QUESTIONS
Will there be an odexed version?
No.
There's something I want, can you add it?
Maybe. It depends on if I think it will benefit everyone, and how much it adds to the ROM. Post a request.
Will this work with my variant?
No. If you want a port, PM me about it so you can test for me if and when I decide to do so. Requests can also be made for variants in the thread.
Why don't you use an AROMA installer?
I experimented with the newest version, but it is just overly convoluted with menu pages and could be confusing when trying to determine how to actually flash the ROM. I had decent success with an older version, but in both versions, there were times where the installer would not go back to recovery and would cause a boot loop from not installing properly. The old methods are best.
I want such-and-such app, can you put it in the ROM?
Not likely, unless it is a G2 app (that works) I have overlooked.
Is there different keyboards?
No. There is just the LG G2 keyboard.
Can I flash this zip even though my recovery doesn't "lokify" items (e.g. kernels)?
You should be able to flash on any available recovery without issue.
ISSUES & FIXES
After First Boot - I am asked to choose between the Home or Lock Screen launchers after completing the phone setup. What do I do?
Click on "Home" and select "Always".
After First Boot - When I first boot up I get an error message that brings me to Google Play Services in the Play Store. What do I do?
Go to Settings>Apps>ALL and click on Google Account Manager. Uncheck the "Show notifications" box and confirm.
After First Boot *OPTIONAL* - I want to update Google Play Store to the newest release. What do I do?
"Easy Installer" has been installed with the latest ROM (and can be uninstalled). The most recent release of the Google Play Store has been copied to the SD card of the phone. Enable "Unknown sources" under Settings>Security first, then open "Easy Installer" and wait until it finishes loading. Select Google Play Store and click "Install".
After First Boot *WARNING* - I changed some settings for the lock screen and now it just gets stuck on the lock screen. What do I do?
It is recommended to NEVER OPEN the lock screen settings. Once opened it will begin to cause this issue. However, if you really want to change the few settings available, there are two fixes: a) The best option is to wait until the screen turns itself off. Once it does, it will go back to normal. b) For a quick, but temporary fix click the soft key for apps opened and dismiss all.
NOTE: On reboot, the lock screen will get stuck again.
The lock screen is not present. What do I do?
The lock screen may take a second or two to appear.
Some apps do not seem to work properly. What do I do?
Change the date and time. Changing just the timezone should adjust everything else accordingly.
LG SmartWorld gives me a message that my phone model is not supported. What do I do?
Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about this until LG makes the appropriate fixes. It will work for some, and not for others.
I would prefer to have a full viewing screen in the LG camera in exchange for partially hidden titles of some apps. What do I do?
Use the "BuildProp Editor" included in the ROM. Open the app and type "density" into the search bar. Only one value should appear. Change the value to "480" and reboot the phone.
The LG G2 keyboard is in single-hand mode. What do I do?
There is a small keyboard icon on the bottom of the keyboard itself. Press the icon and choose the dual-hand option.
I want to use a different keyboard, but I get a FC after pressing "Open" in the Google Play Store. What do I do?
Go to Settings>Language & input and check the box for the new keyboard, then change the default keyboard to the new one.
I am using the "WiFi File Transfer", but I can't upload any files. What do I do?
Open up My Computer and type the FTP address into that window. A web browser will only allow downloading (not uploading) from the phone.
I used the NAVBAR TRANSPARENCY ENABLER, but on a reboot the soft keys aren't showing. What do I do?
Give the soft keys about 30 seconds and they will show.
APN FIX
This should actually be under ISSUES & FIXES, but I decided it should be more prominent. If there is no mobile data after flashing this ROM perform one of these methods:
Simple Method
Revert to stock ROM (or any custom ROM where mobile data does work).
Download this file and this file.
Extract the contents of "APN2.rar" to a folder on your PC.
Double-click "APN2SD.bat" and follow the instructions. OR, double-click "APN2FOLDER.bat" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: If you clicked the "APN2SD.bat", the "apns-conf.xml" file will be on the SD card of your phone. If you clicked the "APN2FOLDDER.bat", the "apns-conf.xml" file will be in the folder you extracted the contents to.
Use 7z or WinRAR to open the "FlashAPN.zip" (do not extract the contents).
Go to /system/etc/
Place the "apns-conf.xml" file inside the "etc" folder of "FlashAPN.zip".
Put "FlashAPN.zip" on your phone's SD card.
Flash LucidPhusion.
Boot into recovery.
Flash "FlashAPN.zip".
Reboot into the OS.
The correct APN settings should now display.
Manual Method
Revert to stock ROM (or any custom ROM where mobile data does work).
Download and open a file explorer like Root Explorer or ES Explorer.
Go to /system/etc
Copy "apns-conf.xml".
Go to /sdcard/
Paste "apns-conf.xml".
Flash LucidPhusion.
Download a file explorer and open it.
Copy "apns-conf.xml".
Go to /system/etc
Paste "apns-conf.xml" (overwriting the existing file).
Reboot the phone.
Mobile data should now work.
Please also send me a copy of the "apns-conf.xml" via PM so that I can include it in any future updates.
INSTALLATION
1) Do a Factory Reset.
2) Flash the ZIP.
3) Follow the steps for first-time booting in ISSUES & FIXES (including Google Play update!).
OPTIONAL I: Flash the Navbar and/or KnockOn ENABLERs.

No offense but funny why you would assume stock rom better than custom rom? Long time ago people start to develop custom rom and abandon stock rom because custom rom is way better

That is total BS! Till this day the Stock ROM from @g.lewarne and CleanROM XE both with custom kernel from @g.lewarne are by far THE best ROMs considering battery/performance balance and NONE of the custom ROMs has come even near that and I have tried CarbonROM 4.3.1, CM 10.2, CM11, PA 3.99 and PA 4.0. Battery life with those 2 stock baby's is just insane! They are all very nice, stable and perform very good. But stock beats them all for me. And I can't wait for stock 4.4 cause I know it will be my next daily driver.
PS: I do however agree that stock is not the best looking ROM out there. KK is the winner in that category.
Sound Good
Are pop up call and pop up sms features there ? For me this is the best feature from Stock, at least for me , IF not could you please add them
Use file explore. Go back.to another aosp or lg rom, download a apn back up app. Back up apns. Reflash rom. Open file cmfile explorer . Open app apn back up. Hot restore from back up and BOOOOOOM!

Easy fix for issue with unsatisfactory experience with ROM. Bugger off and don't post negative opinions in a development thread. Nothing personal but the amount of time and energy I and many others have spent just trying to help devs much less code myself is unbelievable. We just had a Thanksgiving Holiday, wish people could learn to be thankful. Sorry for the rant.

Cant install any other keyboard (I'm not using the LG one cuz it sucks bigtime for me), Settings FCs.
I miss the option to have a navbar button that pulls down the Statusbar, my thumb aint that long !
Anyway, going back to PAC or Stock. Every ROM that I've tried from you has some kind of errors that make the ROM unuseable for me :/,
I still appreciate your work tho.

Anyway, going back to PAC or Stock. Every ROM that I've tried from you has some kind of errors that make the ROM unuseable for me :/,
I still appreciate your work tho.

you no need to post that, if rom is no good to you simple do'nt use, for me stock is like trash.
matheus_sc, your post is completely useless.
I found a bug and made a suggestion. In addition, you got a piece of my mind concerning the ROM.
If you dont like what I wrote, then just back off.
If I didnt have any bugs to report or to suggest a feature, I wouldnt have posted at all.
Anyway, I will keep watching this ROM for bugfixex/additional features, because I like the general idea.
Keep up the good work, Heatshiver!
