Is it possible to turn T9 off on the full QWERTY Keypad like it's possible to do on the Compact QWERTY Keypad and Phone Keypad as it's starting to do my head in randomly changing words that I've typed so sentences don't make any sence or omitting the ' in don't I'll it's can't won't so that I've got to go back and correct the mistakes that T9 has caused. I use the full QWERTY Keyboard because it's quicker to type than using the Compact QWERTY Keyboard or the Phone Keypad, but T9 is starting to make the QWERTY Keyboard just as slow as the other options?
Roland
Go to the language and keyboard settings > touch input > then un-tick autocorrect which should be under predictive text or somewhere

Is there anywhere where I can download this? Is this a free utility?
Kinda difficult to use keyboard all the time (one handed).
Thanks.
first of all, most applications do support word completion (go to Settings, Input, Word Comp.)
start typing something in word and it'll give u a list of choices
But you're talking about dictionary words only. I'm talking about T9 input, just like doing sms on regular cellphones, but in this case, on the touch screen.
hi,
i can t stand this automatic text completion when you write sms. oonce you start to write a word, it suggest and select some words that in final turn to be a mess and a nightmare.
i didn t find any option for unactive this auto completion.
is it possible to turn it off?
thxx for helping
best regards
nocomp
In your keyboard (if youre using full qwerty) theres a key with a switch abc<-->t9 (between shift and space) click on it so the switch goes to abc side-- now your auto word completion is off --- (auto word completion is named as t9 in winmo--I think )
thank you soooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCHHHHH
worked like a charm
best regards
HTC use a flavour of T9 auto-completion called xT9. It is used on all three of the HTC keyboards (Phone Keypad, Compact QWERTY and Full Qwerty). It's not terrible, but it is a bit quirky. You can get rid of xT9 completely and restore the old T9 auto-completion/correction, which behaves more as you would expect it. Unfortunately the HTC keyboards behave rather unpredictably with the old T9 (the phone keypad just plain won't work!).
Your real alternatives are to stick with xT9 (and turn it to ABC input as necessary) using the HTC input methods... or go back to T9 and use a third party keyboard SIP, or the Windows one.
Does that make it any clearer?
How to use secondary language on QWERTY Keyboard. I tried SPB keyboard but it doesn't work.
For the software keyboard I have a wide selection of languages and I use Romanian. The layout is the standard QWERTY, but when I long-press some letters, I get access to a few special romanian characters (ă, â, ș, etc.).
The problem I have is with the hardware keyboard. I can only choose English and that's almost fine. I have all the special characters I need when I long-press the letters, but there is only one I miss ("ă" / "Ă"). This one I will get when long-pressing "a" on the software keyboard, but not on the hardware keyboard.
Is there any way to add more hadrware keyboard languages, or somehow edit/add characters to the English configuration? Or should I just send some "hate-mail" to HTC and wait a long time for a fix?
No ideas?
Do any of you have other language options for the hardware keyboard, while the actual keyboard is the standard qwerty?
There must be a way to "Add" more options for the languages of the hardware keyboard..
Anyone?

The little globe next to the space bar on my Swype keyboard is driving me nuts. Constantly bumping it and turning keyboard and voice dictation into Spanish.
Is there a way to remove the language (other than English of course) so there are no other language options from touching that button?
