Wondering if any of you can help me
I have recently bricked my R800I from installing rooted firmware then the system ran an update since will not boot, I can't access fastboot as no blue light will show up only green as it is charging.
Phone only vibrates when the power button is pressed and SE pc companion will not fix the phone as it states the software is 'modified'
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated

Flash the firmware back to 2.3.2 with Flash Tool, root it and then do an OTA update. I'm running R800i 2.3.3 rooted with zero problems.
Edit: Updating the firmware with PC Companion is bad news if you're rooted. Stick to the OTA method. I've just removed PC Companion altogether so I don't update accidentally.
No good after flashing it, it still will not boot even though i get..

Hmm, well if the Flash Tool doesn't work and you can't fastboot I'm not sure what else to suggest. Sorry mate.

I've searched through the forum but can't find an answer. I'm trying to update my Arc OTA to 2.3.3 following the steps posted in the how to. I'm currently running a Rogers rooted 2.3.2 Arc.
The problem I'm having is that everytime I try and use flashtool to flash the generic north american rom, it fails. I've tried like 20 times. I'll have to use the update service to fix the phone each time. Any ideas? Thanks!

At what point does it fail? Does it give you error messages? We can help.. but we're not psychic!

Tried on Windows XP, still fails.
I got it to work using Wotan. Any idea why Flash Tool always fails? Am I missing a part of Java or something?

yesterday i updated to cyangonemod and had a play
then decided to reflash back to stock using flashtool
that all went fine and then the phone found an update
this started on the phone and then next reboot i ended up with a black screen
phone does a small vibrate when it powers on but nothing happens
if i connect to the computer to use flashtool i get the green light and this is the log i get from flashtool

Just re-flash again... i've had this problem and i had to re-flash a few times before it would work
a flash of the ftf to lock the bootloader worked for me
then reflashed firmware
Since I want to root my phone and I´m on .69 I´ll have to downgrade to .42 to obtain root and do OTA update to .69. Anyway, downloded tools (flashtool 0.7.1.0, .42ftf file generic, superoneclick) and installed them. Installed the right drivers etc..
Bootloader unlock allowed yes
->bootloader closed, don´t need unlock for this right?
Problem:
1) When selecting ftf file i have no options to click(wipe cache, wipe userdata are not existent) Anyone else experiences this?
2)When going into flash mode(back button pressed and USB cable plugged in) flashtool doesn´t flash the ftf file. Instead it gives me this error

Also are you sure it's unlocked as in bootloader unlocked and not just rooted?
Go to the directory of flashtool and in drivers make sure Flashtool-drivers.exe is installed fully

Finally managed to flash Enchanced .58 v2, but im trying to get back to stock .42 UK Generic.
When i try to load .ftf in flashtool, clicking at file in flashmode window. There are no files shown up at right side, drag&drop gives message : Flashing Aborted
Do u get any kinda error ...or it just freezes....???
try checking the notification light...if its still on or it goes off...
And have u tried any other firmware...?
try changing the kernel....perform a factory reset and clean all the cache ...and then try flashing again....
I have this issue usually reboot, change usb socket or close firewall help for me atleast.

If it keeps happening with all those different firmware's then you need to try:
(1) Different usb port on computer yes sometimes this works
(2) Different version of flashtool older version - newer version depending what you are on
(3) Re-Install drivers on computer
(4) Disable your antivirus
(5) If available try another computer
Not necessarily in that order
