I have an HTC desire that is rooted with an International 2.2 ROM on it. Everything besides 3G (voice, text, gps, wifi) is working great. I was wondering which radio I need to use to be able to get 3G. I read that Froyo requires a certain radio but Froyo hasn't been release for the Desire in Korea yet so I don't know if the Korean Froyo radio is available yet.
Info:
Radio: 5.09.00.08
HBoot: 0.80
Android version: 2.2
Baseband version: 32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08
Kernel version: 2.6.32.15-gf9c0527
Build number: 2.2 FRF91
Software number: 2.09.405.8
Thank you for all of you help.
Hi,
I have seen threads making reference to a Froyo "B" and a "D" rev of the OTA update. not sure if one version was a 'leaked' pre-release or what but I used one to upgrade my bone stock 2.1 Dinc.
I am now not sure if I used the correct version as there are many download links to the update file on the site.
My current info after the update is:
kernel version 2.6.32.15-gb7b01d1 htc-kernel 'at sign' and18-2#1
Build number 3.21.605.1 CL231334 release-keys
software nunber 3.21.605.1
browser version webkit 3.1
Did I use the right version? If not, what is the steps to get the right version installed?
I am considering trying a custom rom on the device, but am concerned about the network lock. When i put the stock rom on the device i had the simlock / network pin prompt. Fortunately this was fixed when i applied the OTA update.
If i use a custom rom am i likely to encounter the same simlock / network problem??
Many thanks in advance.
Andy
What ROM version are you on at the moment?
As long as you don't update your radio image you should be fine.

Hi
I am looking for the stock rom for my Desire on shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/ but there are multiple which contain either the software number or baseband version.
my current version:
baseband version : 32.49.00.32u_5.11.05.27
software number : 1.21.405.2
firmware : 2.1-update1
When searching under the baseband version I get these below:

Use 2.29.405.2 or 2.29.405.5.
Its the '405' that's important.
