Hey i just received what seems to be two updates from my Omnia 7. The os version stayed the same but the FW went from 2424.10.9.13 to 2424.11.2.3. The boot loader also changed from 4.9.29 to 5.2.1.4. The second update seems to of failed and gave an update error code of 80180011. I was updating from mango the phone has never been hanged although did the internet pull out trick original when mango was released.
The second update worked then i went to FW 2424.11.82 and bootloader 5.8.08. I have no clue what it did.
maybe the internet thetering update?
The second must be the system drivers like gyroscope aso.
I also tried it, but the second update never comes. Microsoft updated their "International phone update site" today, but not for my country/isp :-(
Omnia 7 with T-Mobile Germany brand will always be the last to receive the update :-(
Mango itself isn't the problem, but the update with the drivers is!
yeah no internet sharing or at least i could not find it i probably should clarify i am in Australia locked to optus.
Is the compass working fine? like with compass 7 ? Then the drivers are working fine!

Go to a bar and buy some beers to some friends of yours. U've received drivers update for Mango... so be happy
I forced Mango update but didn't receive new FW. I'll try it today again. Compass is working inside diagnosis app but it doesn't in any other from Marketplace. But accuracy is unusable. I hope it will be better with latest version.
Thats the normal problem, the latest update with all drivers isn't available in all regions. If its available it might only comes with the force method.
i have on my omnia 7...
fw: 2424.11.8.5
bootloader: 5.8.1.9

Is your 3G working correctly with O2 and also you have the actual tethering option in the menu if so then I will have to revert to my stock Rom and update.
With this phone my carrier is t-mobile...

Zune detects the update but when I try to install it ends up with an error...
I´m still on firmware 2424.11.8.5, my device is unbranded and internet sharing is allready enabled.
Are there any noticeable improvements ?
Well the device drivers are the difference, like described the compass now functions without problems...i didnt test it a lot.........
Your problems with the update are because of the tethering workaround, other describe the same behavior (also with other handy models).
Is anything else working after the update ? Maybe Samsung allshare ?
Sent from my OMNIA7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
Ihave an Omnia 7 with firmware no branded but I haven't receive the update... there's a way to force it?
Thank you
I did a lot of tests today and finally I could update my OMNIA 7.
Firmware: 2424.11.9.4
Radio: 2424.11.9.1
Bootloader: 5.9.3.0
This update only works on T-Mobile branded devices.
I have tried to update my unbranded device but it didn´t work (new flashed from 7008 up to 7720), it always stops with an error before the installation begins. Also changing the Mobile Operator in the registry doesn´t help.
So I flashed my OMNIA 7 with the T-Mobile JJ6 rom (7004) from last year, did the chevron unlock and added the needed files to provxml folder with WP7 Root Tools 0.7. The 7004 rom has included diagnosis app V9.29, which doesn´t support provxml feature, but this is no reason to be nervous, because with the final update to 7720 build you will recieve the latest version of the diagnosis app, which supports provxml feature. This means you can update your phone without any risk from 7004 to 7720 if the unlock.xml is copied to provxml folder before starting with the updates.
After updating to 7720 just dial ##634# and the latest diagnosis app will be installed, run the app and type in *#9908# for starting the grps manager. Finally choose unlock.xml and your device will be chevron- and interop-unlocked under Mango.
Important note:
before you start with the annoying update procedure make sure that you have installed network profile app on your device, because after executing the unlock.xml your data connection will be lost ! Just start network profile app, choose another carrier and after that switch back to your previous carrier.
As I have two OMNIA 7´s I will leave one branded and the other one unbranded,
just for the case that future updates will be provided only via carrier update.
Cheers

I updated my HD7 (UK O2 16GB) to NoDo on Friday 18th March and it appeared to update correctly. However i do not appear to have Copy & Paste!!!
The system info states;
OS 7.0.7008.0
FW 2250.09.11902.206
When I access a website (bbc.co.uk), select a text/sms or a Word Mobile 2010 document, i do not get the option to copy any text!!
If i search the market place for "Frogger" which was one of the diferrences highlighted in the WinRumor video on the Internet , I DO get the Frogger app listed FIRST in the search results (i did not get this before the NoDo update).
When i connect to Zune it tells me the device is up to date and there is no update for it.
How do i prove the NoDo update was successful or force the update again?
You didn't update to NoDo
You've updated with the pre-NoDo update (7008), which essentially does nothing visible to your phone. NoDo isn't officially out yet (though you can flash it, have a look in the HD7 forum).
Casey
That is not the NoDo update you have only install the pre-update, NoDo is still not out for most of the phones, the firmware versions should be 7336 instead of 7008
I updated my hd7 to the Nodo update. My Version is 7.0(7389)
Bye
I carried out the pre-NoDo update a couple of weeks ago, then on Thurs 17th (i was out celebrating St Patricks day!!) it advised me another update was available.
Zune connected and it went through a 9 stage update and rebooted the phone a couple of times.
A couple of times during that process i had a black and white picture of a phone and PC connected via a cable with a red warning saying do not disconnect on the phone screen.
Which is the correct NoDo update version 7336 or 7389 or is the version carrier specific?
Hi, I just receieved my Samsung Omnia 7 sim free phone and it came with 7.0.7355.0
This has Copy and Paste in it already so has my phone shipped with the NoDo upgrade as I have a different firmware number to those quoted...
IF anyone can help I would be much apprecitive.
I have a problem where I was on Mango 7720 RTM and I re-flashed ansars 7004 ROM.
Now when I hook my phone up to zune, it says my version, 7004, is up to date. I did this a while back to get my phone out of a "super walshed" mode and it updated just fine. Now I can't update past 7004 because it says I'm already updated. Please help if anyone can, I've been researching this like crazy.

Don't use the chevron updater it could prevent you from getting future updates.
I just don't understand why it says I'm already up to day when I'm not. It should let me update. I've tried installing different Zune versions but have had no luck. I'm downloading Zune version 4.7 to see if that works. We will see. I will post my results back.

I already tried that, still doesn't work.
When I posted on wpcentral about it, several users posted saying that fresh out of the box devices weren't getting any updates either. They were 7004 too.
Perhaps MS turned off all updates until tomorrow?
Updates are probably all turned off until tomorrow for Mango. They can't get rid of the No-Do updates completely though because I don't want to be in 7004 forever Dx

The only reason I reverted back to original ROM was to chevron-unlock my Focus, then unbrand it...

AT&T will be the first to get the update, tomorrow. Unbranded phones will probably receive it on the same day.
So glad to see these posts, thought I was the only one, I started on Sunday and all day yesterday I could get it to 7008 but no further, now today I cant get past 7004. Hoping tomorrow will open things back up and I can update to Mango! I have a Samsung Focus on AT&T.
I think it would help a lot if we all kept this thread up to date on when the updates start working again and what exactly you did to get it to update.

I honestly do not know, it seems like many people in that thread received the update without problems. I am just making observations, whether they are relevant I cannot say.
I guess the only thing we can do is wait and see if Mano even launches tomorrow or not but when it does, see if we can update and go from there.

Hey guys,
I am so jealous that everyone has Mango and I dont. And upon further research, it seems like I havn't gotten any updates!
I have a LG Optimus 7 (e900 i believe). I am in Canada on Telus network. I do have a valid developer account on the marketplace and my phone is unlocked through the official tool.
I didn't force nodo (and now i dont even believe I have nodo since everyone had a higher OS version even before updating to mango).
I havnt installed anything other then apps from marketplace and no mods either.
My info
OS version: 7.0.7392.0
Firmware revision number: 1.0.5.10
Hardware revision number: 1.0.0.0
radio software version: 1.0.5.10
radio hardware version: 0.3.5.0
bootloader version: 1.5.1.0
Chip SOC version: 0.30.2.0
I tried reinstalling zune but the installer said I already have the latest version (4.8).
Should I just be patient? I dont want to do the whole force the update thing.
You have NoDo. In fact, you have NoDo plus the security update that was release a couple of months after NoDo. NoDO was 7390. The security update was 7392.
So, unless you want to try the disconnect trick, you should just be patient. You'll get your update notice within the next 2-3 weeks at the most.
I forced the update on O2 UK TouchHD7 by following these instructions
FOR THOSE THAT IT WONT WORK FOR READ THIS!
click check for update like normal but have your phone in hand and ready to set to airplane mode at the time where you would normally dc your computers internet.
I did not have to dc my computers internet, just the phones and it worked perfectly for me.
In my case I had to switch to airplane mode at ~34 seconds.
It helps if you time it the first time and see how long it takes to tell you your
phone is up to date and then subtract about a second. GL hope this helps

Just force the update

I recommend against it. The update you'll get may well not be the specific update meant for your phone. There can be various issues with the wrong update.

I'd force it. Microsoft themselves has referred to it as cutting in line. I believe I've also heard the guys on the Windows Phone Radio podcast (which is official) mention that they told their friends to do it.
same for my new HD7s
this same thing is going on with my new HD7s. Stuck at 7392. Just received it, yesterday, from AT&T. Do we know anything further about this?

I had the same problem with an OMNIA 7.
Solution:
Use ChevronWP7.updater (google) => will install Nodo 7390
After that use the by Chris Walsh provided repair tool for being able to recieve updates via zune.
After that use mangoforall V0.2 for provisioning your phone.
=> zune will update your phone to 7403 and finally to 7720.
Cheers

Edit:
Before using ChevronWP7.updater make sure that you have installed Windows Phone Support Tool.
Microsoft Not Pushing Samsung Focus 7390 Update Anymore
I restored mine to 7008 and got the same problem. I did some snooping around and found this: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...s-update/cbd79f58-36cf-457e-babe-134497ca6292
I also submitted my own question regarding the issue, but basically they are saying that you won't expect any updates for Focus rolling out from 7008 to No-Do. It has to be from 7390 to No-Do, otherwise nothing.
This issue may be fixed in the future once Mango has been distributed and celebrated, but only as an afterthought. What you can do is to force a Mango update on your phone. It will forego 7390,7392, and 740(see my post below). I'm still updating mine, so I'll get back at you for any news, issues, or developments.

But I just realized I was wrong about my earlier post. If you force the update it will forego any other update between 7008 and NoDo. You'll jump straight to the normal course towards Mango.

Zune will then show your next update, turn your connection back on and update. Keep doing this till your at the update of your choice. at No-do rev2 it finally found the next update on it's own.
Dear forum members,
This is to inform you that MS has totally changed the update process from PreNoDo / NoDo to Mango 7720
The process is a chain of updates and after Mango 7720 an hTC update is received
Finally OEM, SYS, Radio and bootloader are all updated and the HSPL is lost
For hTC_Europe the update is:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware: 2250.21.40502.401 >> ROM version 4.05.401.02
Radio: 5.69.09.29a_22.50.50.21U
Bootloader: 4.5.2250.0(129185)
I am preparing a new U2M7720 xap in order to preserve unlock
Regards, ansar
will this new one work for all us who have accepted the htc drivers update and cant roll back??

I was about to restore my NoDo backup in order to get interop-unlocked when I saw this thread. Thanks for the heads-up. You just saved me the ton of aspirin I'd have needed!
And thanks for all your work.
For the HTC devices, can you package in the required version of Connection Setup to make this work all the way through the final upgrade AND keep 3G alive?
Also, I assume you will need to start from an unlocked pre-NoDo or unlocked NoDo?
Last question - when you get to the final Mango, will you have set the phone to be interop-unlocked and prevent-relock with registry mods?
Sorry for all the questions
great.. i cant wait for this update to hit my device.. hopefully it will repair the bootloader problem.
this sorta scarees me
well this seams sorta scary for hd2 users will thay still beable to use MAGLDR 113 to dule boot wp7 & android on hd2?
i understand the process is quite diffrent from the rest of the wp7 phones and thare bootloaders?
i am going thru this process now. reverting back to NoDO(7392) this morning but tried to force update not working. backup was corrupted as well.
so no choice i have to go abck to factory default ROM. then only it start all the update from 7004 to 7008 to 7392 to 7403 to 7720 to HTC driver update all the way without stopiping.
u have to do ya dev-unlock really fast in order for them to carry on the next update.

Is this the firmware update we've been waiting for? Does this mean internet sharing on older htc devices such as hd7 work now? or is this some other kind of update?
The previous official Mango(7720) update only provide Microsoft update. after that Mango(7720) update. by right you should receive another update from HTC. its called HTC driver Update previously.
from today update onward for HTC device. the HTC driver update which come after Mango(7720) update previously will be bundle together with Mango(7720) update.
i did that just now and found my bootloader and firmware was still the original before Mango(7720) update. it has come to the latest one after i check Mango(7720) updated. and there is no need for HTC driver update anymore.

Hi,
This must be the final cause includes hTC OEM too, see 1st post for revion numbers
Regards, ansar
i'm not sure if i get it right...
1st we go to 7403....then to final mango(7720)...and then to htc update(again 7720)...3 steps of update....RIGHT???
so if we want to just go to final mango...can we use that old trick or not???
or ms has just put final mango and htc update into one update???i mean ms makes it 2 steps instead of 3...right???
This is nothing new... It has been the case since day 1 of the mango official release through zune....
I did the update (with the internet disconnect trick) on my Trophy and it was a 2 step update:
1st i got the 7403 rom
2nd i got the 7720/HTC drivers COMBINED update (which got installed in 1 go!)
After this, my phone was at 7.10.7720.68 with firmware revision 2250.21.40600.168 , radio 5.69.09.05a_22.50.20.21U and bootloader 4.6.2250.0(129185) and LOCKED!!! (and couldn't unlock as HTC Connection manager did nothing at all!!!)
I had to go back to my nodo restore point (but with spl 4.6.2250.0 which didn't change) and perform the "beta" way(U2B2) to 7403 ISV and then to 7720 ISV which got unlocked by Connection setup, and then return the phone to "normal" mode (DoNotU2b2) and get the HTC driver update (the phone remained unlocked!)
I have preserved all the MANGO/HTC combined update files just before they were deleted by the updater program during the transfering to the phone, and you can clearly see that there is a large cab file ~147Mb which is mango and a second file ~62Mb which contains all the HTC drivers/bootloader/applications ...
Here is the HTC file:

Hi there,
I just cancel the update and apply the dev-unlock and then search for update again, that's how I did with the whole process and it works and I am still dev-unlock.
Hope I Have Been Of Help. PEACE!!!
This might be the exact reason, why am I saying, that provisioning between updates (U2M7200) is working just on some phones. As deliol said earlier, this applies from day one, where my stock NoDo Mozart was updated in one turn with the 7720 install. Provisioning stopped working after that, even if I deployed ProvXML after the 7403 update and on Mango again. I even have higher versions than ansar and deliol.
NoDo > Summer HTC Update for Mozart > 7403 > Mango
OS 7.0.7392.0 > xxx > 7.0.7403.0 > 7.10.7720.68
FW 2250.09.12902.401 > 2250.09.13001.401 > xxx > 2250.21.40600.401
Radio SW 5.52.09.16.22.33a.50.10U > 5.54.09.21_22.33b.50.10U > xxx > 5.69.09.05a_22.50.50.21U
BL 1.28.2250.4(113913) > 1.30.2250.1(117833) > xxx > 4.6.2250.0(129193)
xxx means no change

Sent from Ant's HTC 7 Mozart using XDA Windows Phone 7 App.
went back to no do unlocked used ansar u2b2 and it went straight to 7720.68? and is fully locked now, please help.
You're not the only one. Just wait until someone finds a way to hijack Mango. As new devices which can not be downgraded are on the market, the interest for this will grow.
Hm, bad news as it seems :/
I tried it yesterday with ansars U2B2 tool and I am running 7.10.7720.68. Only difference to Ansars version number is the firmware revision number: 2250.09.16901.401 with hardware revision number 0002.
I installed the HTC Update when the official Mango update was announced worldwide while I was still running Mango B2 Refresh on the phone.
Right now, applications with the interop capability still run, but they are limited. The Advanced Touch explorer only shows his own application folder and registry is not available. I guess its because of the changed way the HTC DLLs can be used. Lets hope for Ansar or Heathcliff to figure this out
Does it matter what hardware version does one have as long as their mango is unlocked and can do sideloading.just my 2 cents.
