I was having an issue where everytime I locked the screen and turned it back it was already unlocked.
I also noticed when this started happening that if I held down power it would shut off without a power menu.
Any explaination?
I had to master reset to get the lockscreen to return.

You have to do it at the same time and hold for a second. If not, try volume down and power

If you don't mind paying a few bucks Screenshot UX works great.
Power + home still works. Just have to keep it pressed longer, then it will take the screen shot.

Actually the link I found was dead but I found the old thread kbizzle had for his port of AOKP and it mentioned using root explorer to turn them off. I tried the method and now my buttons are off but the lights are still on. But I quit tinkering when I went to work.

Well ****aki. I saw the same dead link you saw. But I thought the device settings in aokp would shut them off like CM9 but to no avail they keep turning back on.

Correction, leave the setting checked in device settings and if u go to system/usr/keylayout and delete those four lines in sec.touchkey.kl and save then reboot, it will completely disable the buttons and lights.

Didn't want to disable the entire buttons just lights. But someone suggested to me enable the light with the checkmark then reboot, it's backwards for some reason.

Like the idea of a navbar, but I just can't do it when I have a capacitive buttons. Lol but that's apparently how to solve the lights problem, working for me so far.

Yeah having both is definitely asinine but I thought is was something different to look at for once. But either way I don't dig the lights or the fact it uses battery.

No need to have the mods remove it, and actual it is useful info. I would change the title to [Solved]Button Lights Off | AOKP
and then put in OP the way to solve those lights like i said.

Is there any app or way I can disable power button? I think my power button is messed up when I click it, it either restarts or opens power menu, any suggestions on how to fix this it's getting annoying because it reboots every time I turn on screen
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
You could n of touch it? I'm assuming that if you disabled it you wouldn't touch it, so just don't touch it. Use your volume rockers to turn on the screen. If you don't have that option, flash cm10, it has that option.

Well... I think you both just answered your questions. If you have TEP take it to Sprint. As long as they find no water damage when they open the the device they'll most likely either fix it or give you a refurbished device.
If there is water damage (and it always seams like they find some kind or another you'll be instructed to put in a claim with TEP.

Then use "Triangle Away" to rest your flash count if you used Odin to flash a lot of roms.
