I really don't see why we wouldn't have roms ported for ICS. Are phone is certainly capable of handling it.
Indeed, especially since we are running something that "requires" a dual core processor to run lol. I'm running sense 3.5, which is for a dual core phone
Sent from my DINC2HD
Well get it. We have the ram and good gpu. Those were the 2 requirements listed on CM.com. they said 2 weeks after source code is released for basics. Couple months for stability. So hopefully in a couple months well be getting some betas!

I think it was, but we also have a ton of straight sense 3.0 ROMs and those, I've heard, aren't even supposed to be able to run on single core.

I'm saddened by this, since I ran SR on my Incredible pretty much the entire year I had it. Now I have the Incredible 2 and while I really liked SR, the stuff coming from RMK is nice. Looking forward to trying Virtuous when it is released.

I suppose.
I'd be worried about seeing ICS source code.
They seem to imply it's ''made perfect for this device'' which is the same crap reason that Honeycomb source was never released.
Only if it helps port MIUI...other than that completely pointless and ugly as sin....
How about starting a pool to entice some developers with the proper know-how to this phone?
I'm definitely willing to put in some mulla if it means getting CM on this beast!
Is this still accepted on XDA? I used to see a lot of those in the past but nothing recently...
Our family has four Incredible 2's with Verizon. I am running Virtuous Unity 2.39 while the others are running stock (two rooted and one unrooted).
I feel I have the worse phone call quality, and am wondering if the ROM choice has any impact on this performance. If so, any ROM's that meet or exceed rooted stock?
Thanks.

Is there any real reason why Verizon or HTC (I'm not sure which one is mainly in charge of updating) has been somewhat neglecting the dinc 2? I mean it was announced that we'd have the update by August of 2012.. and it's February. Is there a possibility that we just wouldn't get the ics update at all?

Yep. The reason so many of the ics/jb roms struggle is lack of source. All of the aosp based roms are still working off hacked gingerbread kernels. Our devs have done great work considering, but they just don't have the tools needed to get everything exactly right. That's why you see so many issues with cameras and blue tooth, amongst others. Few want the bloat, but once source hits tomorrow, we can start getting more functional roms with it.

Yes, you are correct...the source will coming tomorrow after we hate the source and the phone itself.
So the devas have just been taking the gingerbread kernel and modifying it to make it run jb. But with a ICS kernel they will have less stuff to jerry rig increasing performance and functionality. Now I see why we're waiting for tomorrow.
