I cannot post in the developers forum yet. So hopefully some people can answer a Q for me here.
If you do a dump of your system folder and go to system/etc/firmware. Can you tell me what bq files you see there and what size they (it) is? This goes for anyone who has the 0% 1% issues and nothing wrong as well please.
Thus far I have noticed that the 0% and 1% issue, for me at least, has shown a difference of only having 1 file for the 0%: bq27520_fw-0507_filever-0112_proj-anzu_golden.bqfs and 2 files for the 1%: bq27520_fw-0501_filever-0105_proj-hall_golden.bqfs, bq27520_fw-0501_filever-0105_proj-hall_golden.dffs.
I would like to know if anyone what a no issue phone has in that folder.
Thanks. This has to be software related, and it has to be fixable. There is no way that the 1% issue would be a temp fix if it wasnt strictly software related. Someone has to have a fix at some point.
Is there anyone out there that can zip their system folder of a good phone and upload it somewhere? I would appreciate it.
If you tell me how to do that/im not rooted/?
here, System/etc/firmware
Alright, well I am not sure how this has turned into such a non-topic now, maybe everyone sent off their phones? I havent. But I still cant post in the dev area, so just a note of the screwing around I have been up to;
Being unable to view the actual contents of the .sin files, I have been trying a little mix and matching. By replacing the kernel.sin file in several 3.0.A ftf files just before the reflash you can recreate the 1% on any 3.0.A update (as it happens in verison 3.0.1.A.0.146). It crashes the core when it boots back up again, but the 1% shows up on rev. 181, 184.
So something within that kernel.sin file is creating a somewhat workable 1%. If it was possible to recreate whatever it is doing in that kernel.sin and adapt it to a 4.0 rev, I would suspect this would help to alleviate some of the pain in the assery that is currently going on.
Anyways. Just thought I would share. Seeing as how everyone else is so quiet!

Hi, I would like to De-Odex the rom I currently have on my phone.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I've read:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/xeudoxus/47283-release-xultimate.html
and
http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-themes/4620-how-manually-deodex-your-phone.html (there is also a post about this on here)
The xUltimate tool will not work for me, so I need another option.
Phone: HTC Evo
ROM: Stock 3.29 OTA
Rooted (ofc)
Thanks for the help.
Sorry if this is no help, but a deodexed version of the 3.29 OTA is posted somewhere in the dev section. Is there a particular reason why you want to deodex it yourself?

I've been switching between roms but I keep coming back to my original stock one. It's still odex'd and I would like to theme the battery icon on the status bar without having to set everything back up on a fresh rom. Since it reads half when 80% of my battery is remaining.
Thanks for the quick response.

and you said this didnt work for you?
i didnt even know you could deodex your own rom!
going to try this soon!

It wasn't that it didn't work.
I just got an error with Java, not sure how to fix it. Some said to re install java, but i've installed JRE and JDK from 5u20 to 6u21 (32 and 64 bit). Everything I tried gave the same error.
I am going to try asking on their forum and see if they can tell me what I did wrong.
I have a feeling it has to do with the 3.29 OTA update. :-/
Good luck and if you get it to work please let me know your setup.
and if you can't run step 3 let me know... that way I am not the only one to seem that crazy.
option 1 and 2 just adb pulls your /system/apps and your framework.
just got stuck starting option 3:
Starting AccountSyncManager.odex
*Deodexing...
Error occurred while loading boot class path files. Aborting.
org.jf.dexlib.Code.Analysis.ClassPath$ClassNotFoundException....
lower it says
at org.jf.baksmali.baksmali.dissambleDexFile(baksmali.java:103)
and it just gives some more errors until i close it down
i was sooo excited to get this done!
Ahhh! I'll see what I can find out on their forums.
Despite the tutorial saying "Manually De-Odex Your Phone" I think it may be just for droid phones. It was posted in the Moto Droid sections of the forums.
Here is the error I was getting:
Code:

dang it...
i just updated my java and nothing, still same error. well let me know what they say. i was about to make an account to post over there but i'll let you do it then.

Both our problems have "org.jf.baksmali" involved.
Hopefully we'll have some answers soon.
well i ran a test and everything said pass, including the odex and deodex. i installed the latest java, and same problem. i had the phone originally as mass storage, so i tried under charge only, and still same problem.
i really hope we get a solution to this
I did some more reading and it seems that app is designed specifically for droid x phones.
I'm now going to try a more hands on approach using avabox...will update tonight.

Were you able to get it DeOdexed?
I found this after some searching... It seems to be the LONG way to deodex an apk. It was written in 2009 so idk how reliable it will be.
http://androidnetwork.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=55
Edit: Link to Avabox: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697459
[UPDATE] I tried Avabox and it de-odexed all of the files that I adb pulled. I copied the De-Odexed files back to their respective folder on the /system/, and deleted "rm /system/app/*.odex" (Removing all the .odex files) and rebooted.
I got stuck on the white "HTC Evo 4G" screen and could not get passed it.
I am not sure what I messed up. Maybe I need to resign the files? I'll try that tomorrow.
Let me know how your attempt went. :]
When I left for school I left the script deodexing my app folder...it seems to have done the job and there were no errors. It's doing the process for the framework files now.
Once I move it over to the phone we 'll see if it worked...
I'll update here when I find out...
Swyped from an HTC Evo on MetroPCS...
i just tried that too and i got stock in a bootloop.
the avabox script does deodex all the app files. it doesn't do that for the framework files...it seems it'll only deodex .apk files.
anyways, i deleted everything from my /system/app folder and then pushed over the deodexed apks...i also did this for the two apk files from system/framework and the phone did the bootloop thing. so i put back the original /system/framework files, effectively only leaving changed the contents of /framework/app/ and still, bootlooping.
i'm restoring right now...i'll try it some more at another time.
let me know if you figure it out!
I was reading some of the comments on this thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=598026) They we're saying about problems with de-odexing the framework.
Do we need to resign system apps before we push them back?
I am optimizing my apks now, going to batch resign then try putting just the apks back on.
Well I messages avalaunchmods asking the same thing...if anyone knows it should be him...
Update if you get it working please!
Swyped from an HTC Evo on MetroPCS...
Unfortunately, I still don't have any good news. :[
I tried resigning the de-odexed apk's and replacing the ones on my phone.
This got stuck at the white HTC Evo 4G screen.
This failed
Then I optimized, signed, and zipaligned.
This threw me into an actual boot loop. (I was excited... It's the first boot loop i've gotten.)
This failed.
Here is some semi-less-bad news.
I used http://circle.glx.nl/ to make a flashable update.zip for theme-ing. I Flashed it with success and was able to get to the lock screen. Sense UI along with just about every other system app kept force closing.
But I was able to successfully (even though I got FC's) theme and boot using that kitchen.
I am going to mess around with the different settings there and see if I can atleast theme my phone.
Any luck with your attempts?
i was at school all day - no news from me. this is very discouraging though.
i'm surprised nobody else has chimed in! considering how many people are making and releasing roms, some people must know what's going on here
Good news (kinda)
I was able to theme my framework-res.apk without any errors or FC's.
I didn't do anything to De-Odex it but it accepted the theme when I manually edited it.
There must be an xml that scripts how the battery is displaying %'s
since I have 89% of my battery remaining but the themed battery is showing 80%.
I'll dig around and see where it is and add it to my next framework recompile.
We're you interested in just themeing or the whole de-odexing (apps & framework)
If you want to theme it i'll write up a decent tutorial on what I did.
If not I'll write up a quick tutorial for the next root newbie who wants to theme.
Going to test run it and make sure I didn't mess much up.
Edit3: The bad, it would appear that you can't modify the .xml's of the framework. You can only change the pictures.
So the battery wont be able to have the exact %.
Modifying of any .xml leads me to a boot loop.
Tips are appreciated on fixing this.
I'll keep trying.
so here is what i've learned.
i had modified both .com.htc.resources and framework-res before. those files, at least in my rom, are not odexed. everything else in the framework folder is a mix of files, .jar files and other formats, including services.jar, which is odexed. that's why if we change the services.jar file, without the phone being deodexed, it wont work.
that's why i want to deodex my rom. i have too many changes already and dont want to re-do them in another, deodexed rom.
my main interest in deodexing the rom is to have the working battery percentage on top (which used to work on THIS rom before, without deodexing???) and to have a transparent notification tray.
and from there being able to make any other changes as they come up...
i'll see when i have some more time to try out other options, but chances are you will have time before me, so keep updating!
So I rooted my AT&T Note 2 SGH-I137 then flashed Omega rom onto it, after flashing my network wouldn't work at all. I restored using CWM but my imei, baseband, and all that turned up with unknown. I did back up my efs folder when I flashed. My efs folder is now empty, but my backup folder has a dated tar.gz file in it.
Somebody please help me get my phone back up and please don't tell me I just bricked my new phone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sratch that my efs file is not empty, I checked it with a different file manager so now I really don't have any idea whats going on with it. Someone please help me out.

try to flash a stock ROM via Odin, it should fix all your problems.
I swear someone does this every week

Yeah this was very boneheaded on my part. I searched the best I could before posting. Should I save the backup to my computer before flashing?
Oh thank god it worked. I can't thank you enough, I can breath now lol. Thank you again for the quick and easy answer.
by any chance were you on an Iphone before the Note?
Nope Blackberry. I'll admit that incompetence cracks are probably just, but I'm an almost exclusive Linux, so coming from an OS where major problems are pretty much fatal I kinda panicked when this happened and I couldn't find a direct answer within ~4 hours. Also is there a way I should mark this thread as solved?

Hello,
I'ts my first post so please be gentle
When i was rooting my One X 2 months ago i've flashed kernel and put "stock.Kernel-modules.zip" (using CWM) to get everyting to work after few bad attempts.
Now i've succesfully reverted back to the stock ROM (Orange PL - ORANGB10 - 2.17.69.2) relocked bootloader and updated to official JB(3.16.69.3).
There seems to be one problem though. After first flash the icon of my alarm has changed, and i'm looking for a way to revert it back.
My guess is there are different kernel modules for different official RUU.
I wanted to download stock kernel modules for my CID but there seems there is none.
My guess was to extract kernel modules from early ROM and flash them through CWM.
As i got rom.zip extracted from RUU i cannot seem to extract further *.img files.
Can anyone tell me if they got any idea will this work, is it good path i am taking, or anyting to do in this situation?
It just seems like i'm spending hours to solve this and i got no visible results. I don't know if i'm doing the right thing tough.
Thanks in advance.
JB have a different kernel compared to ICS.
And htc hasen't released source code yet.
But, i didn't understand what is your problem
When you set an alarm for certain time (for testing i use +1 min ) and LOCK your screen, when the alarm starts it is showing a big animated icon (graphic).
I remember it was different on the beggining when i still haven't done anything, and it's different after flashing kernel for the first time.
But still after upgrading to JellyBean (which i tought will solve the problem) it haven't changed...
So my guess is that some files are still old - not upgraded.
I think they are the files in modules.zip, but that's a guess.
I'm trying to locate it reading forums/searching google but no luck.
At least will be good if i knew where is the bloody icon (zImages maybe?)
No, it's normal that you see a big alarm when you set it
And, the kernel, has nothing to do with the icon...
Yes it's true. But it's different icon than before
I want to get back to that stock icon i had in the first place.
So where to search? Themes?
Currently i'm trying to get my old VM ubuntu start running so maybe i'll mount the images and start searching manually through files...
Yes, you have to see in skin for edit alarm icon
So my guess is to install custom skin and check if it solved it or not.
Currently i'm going through the Themes and mods forum.
I'll post reply if it will work out.
It seems like the graphic isn't there either.
But i found this!
[cannot post links yet unfortuneatly ]
i found a picture of which graphic i need anyway
Little by little somehow maybe i'll get there.
Although if anyone could give me a clue on specific path to system graphics/images would be great!
R: [Q] searching for different stock kernel modules
When you decompile a skin with m10, you can found the image in: assest, "name of skin", shared, image.
And in res, drawable xhdpi, hdpi etc.
P.s. the first path should be similar to that

Hello there,
I'm very new, so apologies if I'm posting in the wrong forum, or if there's a more appropriate place for this quesion!
Here's the thing... In an attempt to root my Sony Xperia C1905, I was trying to revert my firmware to a previous version of Android (4.2, I think). Anyway, something happened and things didn't work out, so I re-flashed it with a version of 4.3 that I downloaded from somewhere (I don't know where, but the default language was set to German!)... Thing is, when I turn my phone on, I get stuck in a boot-loop (pretty Xperia colous) for about 3-5 minutes until it gets to the main screen.
I have tried things like using the Sony PC Companion to repair it, but to no avail. Is there some other way I can fix this, or revert it to its original firmware, without this stupid boot-loop?
Thanks for reading!

Please refer to this thread as it will tell you how to flash .ftf files manually. Also, make sure that you tick wipe data and wipe cache. This is probably the source of your bootloop problems. Have a good day, feel free to PM me if you need more help.
Wait, buddy i might be wrong here but did you say that it goes to the min screen after the bootanimation ( pretty colours). If so, then that isnt a bootloop. A bootloop is when your phone stays on that bootanimation and never loads up, it's also called a soft brick. As gamer649 above me said, you might wanna check out that thread to know how to flash ftfs manually.
Thank you both so much for responding so quickly! I shall indeed check out that thread posted by gamer649 and hope that solves the problem (If not I shall report back.)
Thanks again!

I will try and download soon as I just got back around to this phone again and give it a try and let you know what I think. Right now I have TWRP ver 2.7.1.0 for Galaxy Light T399 ? which appears to be custom and themed? I just now noticed it when rebooting into Recovery from ROMs restart options. It is white, brown and orange with a list menu. I haven't seen this before though again I haven't flashed any other versions of TWRP besides the touch so maybe it's the standard? I did have TWRP ver 2.8.4.0 for this phone which was the grey, black and blue big button themed touch interface I loved so much.
Aside TWRP matters im also toying around with Lightwave-V3 Rom by user @root@ which I switched to from TigerLillly by user DJBoxer. Both seem to be pretty good although Lightwave was suppose to have came preconfigured with a bunch of useful utilities / mods and it appears they weren't configured in the Rom's configuration. I'll have to take a look and see what needs to be modified if they exist within the build seems same with TigerLilly also. I'd suggest these 2 ROMs to anyone with this phone. Smooth, no bloat and no problems so far. However I am always up for trying any others if anyone has some to suggest. Post and let me know.
