I have a rooted Incredible. Ever since upgrading to Gingerbread I have been unable to open Talk. I've been ignoring this issue for about a month but finally have some time to try and figure out whats going on.
Whenever I try to open it I get the following error followed by a force close dialog box.
The application Talk (process com.google.android.talk) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I have seen a bunch of problems with talk on this forum but most seem to relate to problems with video or crashes in the application and I can't even get it to open.
Anyone have any insight to this issue?
Android Version 2.3.3
Kernel Version 2.6.35.10-gaed752b
Have you tried wiping talks cache or data from manage applications in the settings menu?
actually ended up switching to cyanogen last night, no issues with it on there. Only reason I was holding onto stock was for its video out support at the gym. But I figure i can always just flash an old ROM when I really want to use the video out.

I am currently using am HTC Evo 4G, just got a new one and havent had a chance to root it so It is unrooted and running the stock ROM. Every time I try to bootup the Netflix App it shows a blank white screen and then pops up a message saying
"Error : Please make sure the device's date and time settings are updated to the current date."
and then the app closes and I am unable to use it
It's operating on the auto-time, and no matter what I do be it reboot, re-install Netflix, clear application data. etc I still get that error.
Any Ideas as to how to fix this? When I run it on wifi it works fine, this only happens on 3G
Try installing it the re install it. Maybe that would work. Or u could use the apk that someone here has posted up. Check in the general section of the forum.
Sent from my HTC EVO Phone, should'nt we all have one?
Hey everyone, register because I've yet to find a fix to my problem.
So recently i went to make a backup of my Rooted Evo; I followed all the correct steps to my knowledge and up to this point had not had any apparent or prevailing problems. Booted into Clockwork Mod, scrolled down to Backup and let the phone run its course. When the phone rebooted, the Error "the application Google Services Framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexceptedly. please try again." i forced closed and was able to work in the phone, being bombarded with the force close between every input i made.
Things that other threads have suggested and failed:
*Rebooted and problem persisted
*forced closed and cleared data under applications
*Using Rom Manager, fixed permissions
*went into Clockwork Mod and attempted to fix permissions, seemed to time out
Not sure what else to do, what to try. I apologize for any 4um roolz i may have broken, but i tried my best to solve my own problems.
TIA
I am currently using ARHD 6.1.2 but also had this problem with 6.1.1
When I install google+ (the new leaked version)
(I haven't tried the old/current version)
Its causes some Force closes,
mainly with my people process (contacts)
So i can not access my contact, not even when im composing an sms or via any other way!
Has anyone else experienced this problem and has anyone got a solution?
Thanks for any replies!

Yes, there's been quite a bit of discussion about this in the main thread. I haven't tried it myself, but the new G+ app is causing FC for a lot of (all?) users. It may well be a problem with the underlying HTC base software. Only "solution" I've seen is to uninstall it, sorry.
I'd suggest we all wait for Google to release v2.0 officially, that way we would avoid a lot of issues
I get Force Close on superuser, anywhere from 2-10 times a day...whether the phone is judt on main screen with no apps open, but use any rooted apps like system app remover, rom manager etc etc....force close all the time.
pull out battery, go into recovery, fix permissions...sorts it for an hour or so, then starts all over again....aRGHHH!!!

Do you have the Market version of Superuser installed? If you do, check to see if it has updated to 3.0.5, and if so uninstall the upgrade. There's more about this in the main ARHD thread.
So last night I flashed dottat's RUU (http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...nt/ruu-vzw-kitkat4-4-3-sense-6-s-off-t2867643) to update my phone to 4.4.3 stock. Usually when I run the stock rom, I try to get rid of all the verizon bloat garbage using root app delete and root browser. Maybe this time I got a little overzealous, because I most recently deleted two system apps: verizon location app, and the verizon cloud sync app. Before I did this, everything seemed to run fine. But after getting rid of those two, everything went haywire. Every few seconds my phone app would crash and it would give me the message that "unfortunately, com.android.phone has crashed"and the display kept flickering on and off. Also, I keep getting a poppup for an app called Phone: HBPCG Current Country" telling me I have not input my country, and asks me to select one from a blank list. After trying a few things, I went into TWRP to wipe the cache and dalvik. Fortunately, that seems to have cleared up the com.phone process from crashing every 10 seconds or so. But I still keep getting asked to select a country from "HBPCG Current Country". Has anybody experienced this or does anybody know how to stop it, maybe by deleting another service? I can't remember ever seeing a "verizon location reporting" app in 4.4.2 so I figured it was more garbage that verizon added to the ROM as needless bloat, and didn't think it would affect other phone services.
Thanks for any help on this, it's really irritating me. If I can't get it resolved I figure I might have the run the RUU again.
I should probably also mention that after wiping the caches, I got the "android is upgrading" bit when I rebooted and it said it was optimizing 67 apps. I'm not sure what that was for since I didn't flash any updates or anything, but I figure maybe recaching some system info since I ripped out so much system bloatware?
Now that santod released stock 4.4.3 debloated you should just flash that ROM instead. Sounds like less of a headache to just completely wipe and go from there.

Verizon Location WAS in fact in 4.4.2, and many services of the phone depend on it and won't function without it…
So my tab pro 8.4 wifi was rooted with TWRP recovery and I had revolution ROM on it. Well it started to have issues opening streaming apps such as Netflix and Hulu. So I flashed SlimLP and it was working good for a week then randomly started restarting. So I decided to reflash stock firmware and start from scratch. Now I unlocked dev options but it freezes and force closes everytime I try to open the dev options. I'm a t a loss here. Never had this issue before.
I still can't figure out why my developer option still doesn't work and settings randomly won't work and force closes constantly. It eventually worsens and more and more apps start to not work. Please help!
