I'm not aware of such a thing. But until you figure it out or someone points you in the right direction, you can do this:
1. Go to "Settings" > "Accounts & sync". Disable "Background data" and "Auto-sync".
2. Keep the following 2 widgets: Wifi settings and Sync All.
- When you are in range of a wifi network, toggle on your wifi radio.
- Once connected, tap the "Auto-sync" widget to sync all your stuff.
- Toggle off your wifi radio when done.
ok thanks mate
my issue about syncing:
I've link my phone contact with facebook. i've set my facebook to auto sync. it works well syncing event & updates & contact picture of my contact but when my friends changed the profile pic on their facebook, my desire won't change the contact picture according to their facebook profile pic.
Is there a way to attach a ringtone to a specific gmail email addresses? I get about 100 emails a day. I need to attach a ringtone to the most important senders.

It's always kind of baffled me that the Gmail app doesn't provide a way to select the notification tone. I think the common work-around is to set your default notification tone to whatever you want Gmail's to be, then change your SMS tone within the Messaging app.

Huh? You can change each GMail label's ringtone independently in the settings. GMail > Settings > GMail Label you wish to change > Ringtone & Vibrate > Ringtone.
As to OP's question, I don't know how to get a contact-specific GMail notification.
To build off this set up a label on every incoming email from a specific email address from whoever.. Then set the ringtone for that label. Rinse and repeat.
*Might have to use a computer browser for more settings for label making.

Consider setting up / using priority inbox. It only notifies for priority emails. You just need to mark which ones are important or not.

How do you get notifications to only work for priority mail and not go off with each email that comes into your inbox? What settings will accomplish this? I have learned how to attach specific ringtones to labels, but not how to turn off the rest without turning off the ones that I want.

I have set my lock screen to "productivity", so I can see my alerts, the "issue" is that my GMail app notifications do not appear, am I missing a setting somewhere or is this the same for everyone?
Well, I can only select MAIL in Settings, GMail is missing.. seems to be a missing Software Feature.. Maybe because GMail isn't a Sense-App?

Same for me, the option in settings allows you to only pick accounts set up in the Email app.
Another annoyance!
Hi,
Today I tried setting a customer ringtone for a contact but changed my mind afterwards. Now I found out that there is no option for setting a "Default" ringtone.
Custom contact applications allow you to select a "default ringtone" but it's not the same and other applications such was WhatsApp messenger still consider "dafault ringtone" a custom one. I checked with other unchanged contacts which state "Dafault" as their ringtone. When I use custom contact app such as GO Contacts it states "Default ringtone notification (Beep)".
Does anyone know how to actually reset contact ringtone to default? I tried searching everywhere to no avail. Workaround such as export to sim card, delete, import is the only option I found.
Thank you.
Just searched for the same solution and I found this:
"Luckily the Ringtone Maker application from the Android play store has a Contact ringtone management option in the top right settings dropdown, that has the added ‘default ringtone’ option at the very top of the ringtone options list."
Source: nadude.com/blog/2012/09/02/how-to-reset-custom-contact-ringtones-to-default-in-android
just look for your contacts and set a "new" ringtone, then you choose the default one
"Default" is not an available option
Hi, I have the same problem as Bledula. If I try to set the contact ringtone back to the default one I get the option to choose "Default ringtone" from the dropdown box. This doesn't have the desired effect, though, because it sets the sound for an incoming text/whatsapp message of that contact to the default ringtone that is used for incoming calls.
I tried n3tchart's suggestion, which indeed allows me to view the ringtone for each contact whithin the Ringtone Maker app. All the contacts whose ringtone I have tempered with are set to "Default", while the one that I have tempered with is set to "Default ringtone". The problem still persists, because even within Ringtone Maker, the option "Default" is unavailable in the corresponding dropdown box.
Does any know if there is some config file of the address book that I could edit by hand? Maybe there I could manually edit "Default ringtone" to "Default"...
Many thanks!!
a not-so-elegant workaround
Okay, so I looked into some more. I could find a configuration file that allowed me to edit this thing by hand. However, I found a kinda dirty way around the problem.
First, disable (delete) the Whatsapp account from the "Accounts & sync" settings menu. Then, delete the contact that has the ringtone issue and re-add the contact manually. Finally, add the Whatsapp account in the "Accounts & Sync" settings menu again. That's it. The contact's ringtone is set to "Default" again rather than "Default ringtone".
Note that just deleting and re-adding the contact doesn't fix the problem if you don't disable Whatsapp syncing.
Hi,
has anyone been able to natively setup a SIP account on the H8324? The settings are hidden it the Phone app options...
