Saving nandroid on external_sd - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

So whenever I make a backup on cwm it saves it on my internal storage instead of my external sd card. Is there anyway to make it so it saves onto the external_sd without transfering it over manually?

How can I reduce the size od Synergy

The Synegy Rom is a huge rom, and it always says I am running low on memory. Is there a good way to reduce its size, or which applications are ok to move to the sd card???
Partition your SD card if you haven't and reflash. Partitioning helps with offloading some things onto the SD card

Reminder: partitioning you SDcard will erase it's contents. Backup first
so do a complete backup with titanium and then do what?
before you partition your sd card make sure you have anything you want saved (pictures, video, nandroid backups, and anything else) taken from your sd card and stored in a safe place on your computer.

Thinking about upgrading to this

I'm thinking of upgrading
my current phone is a bravo with most of the apps and music on my 16gb external card. So If I restore or backup my phone the music etc large files don't have to get backed up/restored since they are on the external card. I prefer this setup
1. What do CWM backups look on this considering that most of the memory (32gb) is internal? If I put 13gb of music on my phone would CWM backup my music every time since it backs up everything on the internal memory?
2. What is the maximum external sd (since it doesn't take sd hc) card file size?
3. Could you switch to something other than 4g to conserve battery? How simple is this with stock rom rooted.

1. If you put your music on an external sd then CWM would not backup your music just as you are doing now but if you put the music on the internal memory then it most likely would. I would recommend using Titanium Backup also, it is the best app for backing up apps and settings etc.
2. I have a 32 GB external microsd hc card in the phone along with the 32 GB of internal storage. Not sure why you say it doesn't take sdhc?
Largest officially supported card is 32 GB (from samsung website).
3. There are apps in the Market that have 4G/3G/2G toggles. I couldn't say if they are compatible with this particular phone but they exist so it should be fine.
Nandroid backup does not back up the sd card (I.e. pictures mp3s etc). My nandroid are about 2.5gb.
You can use a 64gb card.
Titanium backup is great but not a replacement for nandroid. Both should be used for full backup solution.

[Q] External SD card path

I am running CM10.1.2. I have been trying to backup my data onto external sd card using Mybackup Pro. By default all the files are being backed up to internal sd card. What is the file path for external sd card?
Also, when I move any app to sd card, they are saved in internal ss and nt he external one.
Any help with these issues would be much appreciated.

[Q] formatting emulated sdcard

how do i format the internal sdcard? im using cwm and that thread says its not possible. figured since it was internal after a wipe it would also clear it.
In "mount and storage" sHould be an option to format internal sd card (it might be listed as sd card only) Make sure you have all the files you need to flash on external sd card and your recovery is able to see your external sd card (our have ADB working just in case)

[Q] wipe&flash rom from phone sd

Ive always flashed roms from my extsd, but the one I had died, cant get a new one till mon. Can I flash from the phone sd, Without causing problems? If so what should I wipe?

Yes you can flash from internal sd card. Same procedure as if flashing from ext sd card.

Hi there. You would in cwm touch choose install zip from internal instead of install zip from external sd card option. Cwm touch is pretty straight forward. Follow the choices. Also make sure you do your nandroid backup before flashing anything. You would want to save that backup to your external sd card when you get it to save device memory. A few backups on internal storage will eat up ALL your internal storage space on the phone so sd card is important to have. If your using cwm you MUST in settings specify for backups to go to EXTERNAL sd card other wise by default they go to internal storage.word of warning this will quickly use all your device storage so make certain once you get your sd to fix the settings so it will go by default to EXTERNAL sd card rather than internal device storage. Hope this helps you out. Best wishes
