Well, this noob really needs your help. I went to flash CM7 last night after hearing about how the stable release had been fixed - after clearing caches and all the other steps needed to be taken prior to a flash I applied CM7. Now i'm stuck in a boot loop and when i do a battery pull and try to enter hboot it just runs me back into the boot loop.
I was rooted (obvi) and running virtuous unity 3.0 before this - never had a problem with this before so i'm a bit freaked out.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and met with clicks of the "thanks" button.
Sorry in advance if this topic has been addressed, I tried my best for a couple of hours to find a thread where someone had the same issue as me but to no avail.
Many others are having problems similar to this, including myself. I suggest checking your md5 sum and making sure you don't have a bad download

If worse comes to worse I guess you could try to install a stock ruu.
Check the other thread about people have freezing, bootloops, etc. when flashing aosp roms. I posted a suggestion there.

Hi guys, i'm really new to the Andriod scene. Started reading thread on custom ROM and decided to flash my brand new phone, DHD, the moment i get it.
I followed the Get Started section on Team Revolution's website to the letter. After doing everything. The phone rebooted, but now the only thing i can do is take the screen saver away and click a lot of "Force close" buttons. Nothing else.
Is there anybody that can help me. Really don't want to kick a one day old phone.
Thanks in advance.
That happened to me after rooting too. Taking the battery out and rebooting fixed it...

That's a little too general for anyone to help. How about telling us what steps have you taken prior to flashing.
[Resolved] Problems ater flashing with Android Revolution HD 5.1.3
Hi All,
Thanks for the quick replies. It looks like i was a bit quick on posting the messages. (Was just freaking out. ) Looks like flashing the ROM went wrong, and searching the forum found the recovery manager button combo. (Volume_- + Power)
Flashed ROM again and this time everything is working.
Thanks again for the assist.
Regards,
The new clockwordmod recovery 5.0.0.1 is up in ROM Manager. Be sure to update to the latest app before flashing. (just to be safe)
Is anyone else having trouble backing up after updating? It just hangs at Backing up System.
Not trying to be "that guy", but this was roughly 6 threads down from yours: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242433
I am curious to hear how it is running though.
Oh hey, my bad. I did a bit of looking and didn't see anything. Guess I just missed it... must be getting late. Anyway, hey Mr. Mod could you kindly do away with this duplicate thread?
Thanks!

Wouldn't worry about it, happens to everyone. I miss stuff searching all the time lol.
Okay, I just flashed 5.0.0.8 I didn't even get to know 5.0.0.1!
I'll let you guys know if my phone bricks! Hah!
Just updated to 5.0.1.0 this morning, and ran a backup/restore no problem. I did initially have issues going from v3.0.0.8 to v5.0.0.1, but after three times of erasing/reflashing recovery, backups worked again.
Nice! I just finally got 5.0.0.1 to flash last night. It took me quite a few tries to make it work.
I didn't realize there was a 5.0.1.0. Updating now.
annnd... it worked right off. Excellent!
I flash it 2 days ago and is sweetness

OK, so I am not new to the xda desire scene,
(Despite the fact that I can't post in the rom development thread regarding this issue)
I have tried installing this Rom in as many different ways as I can over the past 3 hours:
Using EXT3 rather that EXT4
Changing Hboots
Making sure that I have got the correct download (a2sd+/D++)
Wiping a billion times over
etc etc.
HOWEVER no matter what I do I cannot get this Rom to function
When I boot up for the first time, I just get a wallpaper and notification bar.
No touch screen response/button response.
Only the power button works as a method of turning the screen on/off
I assume from experience at this point in first boot HTC's setup program
(or whatever it is) should start and guide me through
linking up accounts/inputting Wifi keys etc.
I have scoured the rom thread and others regarding rom problems and nobody seems to have had this problem of the Setup manager not starting.
As nice as the Gingerbread Screen On/Off animation is I would prefer to do abit more with my phone
I hope I have posted in the right section and I would very much appreciate it if anyone who has had this experience could help me fix this problem and get a working phone...
(ps. The Rom looks very good, if only I could get it working)
First of all try to redownload the rom!!!
And double check the md5

Hey Thanks guys, but..... I re-downloaded the ROM both versions 1.5 and 1.7 (since 1.5 is thought to be more stable) :/ and get stuck at exactly the same place :SSS I'm am abit baffled since I change Rom's alot and have never experienced this before
Did you wipe dalvik? btw your sd card partion need to be at least 1 gigabyte. It worked for me i had same issue as you. First post on XDA
My first installation of 1.7 didnt work and I had to pull the battery and I thought the same thing was happening with my second try, as the screen just went blank after all the crazy changing shapes that happen during boot. However once I touched the power button the setup menu appeared.
I thought this was strange as every other ROM I have tried went straight from the boot animation to the phone starting without the screen blanking out. I know this doesn't help solve your problem but it might mean something to somebody else, who can then help you further.
ps I have been running the ROM for the past week and I haven't had a screen freeze yet. Which has been a revelation for me, as every other ROM ive tried has been really bad for this.
First things first. I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so if it's in the wrong spot, could a mod please move it? Thanks

OKAY! So, as I promised, I'm trying to help you guys out with some custom ROMs and such. I have been working on a port of Paranoid Android 3.x, and have ran into a bump. I got the ROM to boot to the boot animation, but it won't go any further. The main problem is that I have no way of running adb, as I cannot boot into the phone to activate it. So what can I do? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Never mind. Researched and came to a conclusion. Mod can delete.

Hey there, this is my first post here so go easy on me.
I was fortunate enough to unlock my HTC One through the HTCDev site and didn't do anything really exciting with the phone for a few days. However, last night I flashed newtoroot's GPE rom and have been unable to send or receive phone calls or messages on my device.
According to newtoroot, when the phone begins setup and tries to activate on the network you should try to avoid that step by pressing back. However, pressing back or home buttons wouldn't let me escape that process and it just continued all the way through. I suspect this is where the issues started. Anyway, after it finally finished searching for the network, it said it failed to activate.
I tried wiping my data/cache/dalvik and flashing the stock rom, and newt's other Sense based rom, but neither have helped. I thought I had made a backup, but apparently I didn't.
Any ideas? Thanks for taking the time to read through my problem!
Try taking the sim card out and putting it back in and reset the phone. That worked for me one time with my DNA.

Follow the stuff they did in the CM10.2 thread to get calls/data working on that. It involved flashing the stock recovery and some other stuff, idk but it worked so it can't hurt to try.

Something similar happened to me. I had to go into Settings -> Mobile Data, and change Preferred Network from Global to LTE / CDMA mode. I'm not sure why it picked Global as the default.

Thanks so much for referring me to that thread. Followed the steps and flashed the stock recovery and did a factory reset within HBOOT. It did the trick! Thanks everyone for helping me get this solved.

I'm looking through that thread and can't find the HBOOT method to fix this problem, I believe I am going through the same thing. If someone could help or post their method I would be eternally greatful. Also the link for the vzw stock recovery is giving me a 500 error internal server error so if someone could post that I'd be very appreciative.
