Can I go back to UK stock for warranty repair on earpiece distortion? - Defy General

I am confused by all the different versions of things, I gather there's a 'CG Version' I need to be aware of for going back to stock but I don't know what bit I get that from.
My phone currently says:
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband Version: EPU93_U_--.59.01
Kernel Version: [email protected]#1
Mod Version: CyanogenMod-7.1.0-RC1.5-jordan
Build Number: Gingerbread GRJ90
The reason for return is my internal speaker is sounds crackly/distorted on calls though it seems ok on speakerphone, from what I gather it may not be ROM related but a fault with the speaker.
I'd like to return to UK stock first anyway to check the problem before trying a warranty claim.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Go to the Wiki, use the search button.
And the distorted sound, my testing Defy don't have the problem.

Same happend to me,it wasnt problem with ROM. I flashed phone to stock froyo and it was same so I went to servis and they replaced speaker

[Q] Gingerbread ROM and Parrot Car Kit

Hello.
I have the same issue with Gingerbread as with Froyo. When I use my Desire with Parrot CK3200LS-COLOR, nobody hears me when I'm talking to Parrots microphone. I hoped that things will change in last Gingerbread ROM's, but was dissappointed.
May be somebody knows what is the reason of this problem?
Have I to forget about using my Desire with Parrot?
Recently I tried Samsung Wave with Bada 1.0 OS and it worked great without any issue with Parrot.
Why Bada works, but Android doesn't? Is it bug left by Android creators and developers, or is it Parrot's problem?
Please help me to find final answer to my questions.
Which gingerbread rom are you using?
some still have the mic volume set to 0 meaning you can hear people but they cannot hear you.
When you tried with Froyo was it a stock rom or had you rooted?
do you know anyone else with a non rooted Android phone? Try theirs and see what hapens
thats wierd.
i'd check the settings as mentioned above.
i have a Parrot car kit - the CK3100 i think and this works fine.
oh, and I'm using Adam's Oxygen 2 RC4 rom

I tried Adam's Oxygen 2 RC4. Do you mean mic volume setting in Desire or in Parrot?
My Froyo ROM is Leedroid 2.3b, but same problems were with Parrot on all rooted ROM's Eclair and Froyo I've tried. To tell truth I haven't tried Parrot with stock ROM.
Is it possible that problem is caused by radio (mine is 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2)?
Happy New Year !!!
Today I tested HTC Desire Z with my Parrot. No problems at all.
Here are all firmware data of that phone:
baseband version 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
kernel version 2.6.32.21-gd2764ed
[email protected]#1
build number 1.34.405.5 CL273326
software version 1.34.405.5
Android version 2.2
And here is my HTC Desire (problematic working with Parrot) firmware data:
baseband version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
kernel version 2.6.32.15-leedroid_2.3
[email protected]#1
build number 2.29.405.2 CL226611
software version LeeDrOiD V2.3b
Android version 2.2
Could somebody explain me where my HTC Desire problem is digged?
Thank you.
Have a look at the oxygen2 RC5 thread in development, the most recent.
There's a post in there from not more than a few hours ago that may help.

Overcome v4.0

Hey all, mega n00b here
My story; I was running Froyo on my P1000 until last week, Kies told me there was an upgrade available to 2.3.3 GB which I undertook.
I took exception to the navigation button lights always on. I looked and searched all over for fixes and tried in vain to root my tab. I even installed a new Kernel that was supposed to be rooted - it installed but no root!? PLUS my WIFI was now f***ed and either would not connect or continuously dropped.
Anyway, the installed kernel had CWM Recovery in it.
I found another post that led me to the Overcome ROM & Kernel.
I installed the Kernel first and was shi**ing bricks when all that happened was the word "andriod" flashing on the screen!
After friggin about with CWM I found I could load the ROM from the external SD which I duly did and Voila a working Tab, and boy is it slick.
Now, I have two questions - any and all help greatly recieved:
1.) What is up with the website for the install guide and other files?
2.) What do I need to do to install a modem and which one is most suitable for my tab I am in UK on Vodafone.
Device Details:
Model Number: GT-P1000
F/W version: 2.3.3
Baseband version: P1000XXJPZ
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7 Overcome-v4.0.0 #40
Build number: Overcome 7 Series v4.0.0
IDK and no
OK
So, no modem needed? ...I've not tested the 3G data on the Tab yet.
I found the issue with the w/s...

...from the horses mouth so to speak.
EDIT: Tested 3G and all is perfect!

[Q] [HELP] 3G/Voice not working (Verizon)

I recently rooted my Incredible using unrevoked 3.22 downgrade to Froyo to achieve s-off method. I flashed CM9 Kang - Release a8 last night, and now if someone tries to call me, it will ring once on their end and goes to voicemail. I recall seeing in some tutorial something about a 3-digit "*xxx" to dial for provisioning 3G on Verizon, but I can't recall the number nor find it now, nor do I know if this affects voice calls. My "About Phone" info is as follows:
Model number: ADR6300
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: 2.15.00.07.28
Kernel version: [email protected]
CyanogenMod version: 9.0.0-RC0a8-inc-UNOFFICIAL
Build number: IMM76D
Could someone please help me find the number and figure out why I cannot receive calls?
Try * 22899 and let it reprogram. Also, you may want to upgrade your radio to a newer version. 7/28 is a Froyo radio.
...sorry...I was on the phone...
TYVM! WOW I love how helpful and FAST people on XDA are!
Do you have a recommendation for a good radio I should use?
I use the 12/19 EVO radio...good signal here. 7/07 works good, too. Different results in different areas. See what works best for you.
...sorry...I was on the phone...
Thanks! I'll give both a try and report back on which works best up here in the Northwest.
Just to double check, I flash a radio from a .zip through CWRecovery just like I would a ROM, right?
No. Put it on the root of your SD card. It should be named PB31IMG.zip
Flash through hboot.
...sorry...I was on the phone...
Glad I double checked! But I do remember that from when I first rooted now.
Thanks again!

[Q] Liquidsmooth 2.9 no sound during calls

Hi everybody,
First and foremost -- forgive me for my lack of knowledge. I'm not a very technically proficient person when it comes to phones, but I'm trying. A friend of mine installed Liquidsmooth 2.9 (4.2.2) on my S4 for me back in September or so (I would be very hard-pressed to root my phone by myself even now). I absolutely love the mod, though there's been one issue that's persistent since its installation -- the lack of sound during phone calls.
Sometimes dialing out there's no sound: no ringing, and no sound when the other person picks up the line. Likewise, there are times when I receive a call, pick up the phone, and there's no sound at all. There's not really a pattern to this problem; it occurs not too often but still too frequently for my tastes. I've done some searches both here and through other sites and other people have mentioned having this problem, but I cannot seem to find a solution.
I know that 2.9 is by now a relatively old version of Liquidsmooth -- I see that 3.0 was released just recently. Perhaps my problem could be solved by flashing to a new version, but I'd prefer to not have that as a first fix. If patching up to either 2.10 or 3.0 is the only solution, does somebody have a link to a noob-friendly guide? I'm really afraid of bricking my phone, so if I do have to flash I'd want to do so with the utmost caution while following very clear directions.
Model number: SGH-M919
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: M919UVUAMDL

Liquidsmooth version: Liquid-JB-v2.9-OFFICIAL
Build number: liquid_jfltetmo-userdebut 4.2.2 JDQ39E eng.liquid.20130720.020155 test-keys
Let me know if I can provide more information. Would really like to solve this longstanding issue!
