I have a 11sec video and I cant send it that's a pretty small file and it wont send....
Is there a mod I can do or can some please help me....
TIA Shaun
It was taken in hd ? And if you long click on it will tell you how big it is under properties .....but rule of thumb is 1 mb for any video or pictures and that is htc and samsung etc they are all like that,.....that its why devs on 3d will up that to 5mb but none of the roms we have .....have done this yet .....

MMS attachment size is 1mb max. It's not the phone's fault that your video is way over that limit. Sms is not meant for HD video.
There is a limit for sms setting you should use for this express purpose.
send it via email, and it will go with no problem..
I sent a 15 meg video via gmail today, and it went through easy peasy..

Does anyone have a remedy to this? My phone takes amazing pictures and videos and we all know that but it says shrinking for mms and after i send it my picture clarity is horrible and u cant see much. Im wondering if there is a way to stop this?? Thanks all!!

This is more a function of your carrier than your device. The carriers have set limits to the size mms they will let you send.

I understand that and im actually a sales rep. My evo and 3d and any other phone with a good camera never downgraded the pictures nearly as much as my epic touch. It takes the quality down way past what it should.

I find if I take the picture in a lower megapixel like 640x480, there is no degradation in image quality once sent via mms. Kinda defeats the purpose, i know, but it is what it is.....
Just email the pic to your friends/families phones. The [email protected](insert carrier).com That may produce better quality since the wont compress the pic.
I rarely mms pics anymore unless it is to a someone with a dumb/feature phone. I either email or send a link to my picasa album.
Use a third party app like handcent or Go SMS.. I customized my handcent app to look just like the stock epic touch SMS app because I like that look.

Use either a 3rd party app like the lerson above me states. Or use dropbox, upload the pic 2 dropbox, m copy n public link, n send that link to whomever

its definitely something on the software side not the carrier side

I agree some of our amazing devs have to be able to do something about it. No way it has to be that hard to send a good pic on this phone
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
This is a pretty common issue with many android phones. Because of the 1mb mms limit the phones must compress the picture. For some reason they seem to like to compress them down to uner 100kb insted of just under 1mb. I dont know if there's any way to fix this other than to take smaller pictures so there wont be any compression.
So every time I send a screencap people always tell me the text is blurry and can't read it. Today I tried sending the same pic but used handcent and the quality was a whole lot better. Anybody knows why the stock messaging compresses mms into such a bad quality? It's not noticeable on pictures of ppl or things just when sending a picture with text on it. Hmm?

Yes. Unfortunately you have to run something like go SMS and change the send size if u want crisp mms.
Or email em

I don't know if this occur to me as well but i can tell you that when i send an MMS it just stays like "on a loop" (Sending it) like FOR HOURS!!! It's insane, & yes, I'm running stock for now just to know how the phone works by himself without any tweaks... (I'm not giving it much time now, I've heard A LOT OF AWESOME THINGS & ROMS in here; so please don't judge me ...)
Is there something that I need to change for this
I guess I can email them about it. Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like you need to call Sprint and have them refresh your data connection. Mine sends them in like 1-3 seconds.

I've tried both the stock app and go sms pro to send animated GIF's via MMS. My friend couldn't get it to work on his S3 either. When I select the image and view it before sending the image/GIF will be fully animated. Once it has sent though if I click to view the sent image or the recipient views it after receiving the MMS the image is now only 1 frame...no animation. Has anyone had any success in sending animated GIF's via MMS?

So... I appreciate the many responses for this minor function... A follow up question...should I trade this non sending animated GIF paper weight in for the all new innovative iPhone 5?

I need it in to make my day.... hehehehe
It's funny, you post a question, get no support. It only takes a few words to get the mindless trolls out though
On the 3d, developers raised the mms sending limit to 10mb. I was wondering if we were going to get that implemented with the customs rom also because every time I try to send a video, it says it's to large? I could send large videos on the 3d.
Thanks

Post a link to the video/commercial, so people can see what you're referring to. I have no clue. I will try and view it on YouTube.
Edit: I saw it, I am pretty sure that Johnson was just sending him a pic of himself with some text. You just attach the pic then type underneath it.
