What roms currently can be flashed to work on a locked bootloader?
I have tried these so far:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380713
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1381597
i know that the second one works but does the first one work aswell?
Ya but its not very good.
how about the SE Tweaked rom and acronium rom?
can we use it with locked bootloader?
i want to use it but i want to make sure it will make no harm to my arc s..
Be careful man you can **** up your arc by doing this you should unlock the bootloader first and if you worried about warranty it doesnt mean any thing man

thanks for the concern sir..
that's why i am asking them since they already tried it.
if it works with them then it will work for me..
still i am undecided about unlocking my bootloader..
Arcounium 5.5 works fine just tested it on my phone. I almost feel like trying cm7 or miui lol. And you can't have any negative effects you can always use the flashtool or Wotan server to go back.

is your bootloader still locked?
thanks for your feedback..
i think i have to give it a try..
Still no luck?
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
bumping this i need more info too
But I'd really like to ask some questions...
Am I losing the warrenty forever, without anyway to get it again? (or i already lose it, since my phone was bought it in April 2012?)
Watching some guide, even not by official way, i have to submit my IMEI code, meaning that I must let sony know that my phone is unlocked?
So even if i reinstall everything, sony will still have a record that i have once unlocked the bootloader??
Is bravia2 working on jellybean with unlock bootloader? (I thought it wont works, some people said it works now in jellybean)
Thank You!!

I editer your post with numbers so the answers are clearer:
1. As far as i know, you still can relock bootloader before taking to any center. In theory, they can only deny warranty if the problem was caused by any hardware or software modifications (for example CPU burn for overclock).
2. In theory, yes. They will know. I am not sure if the service center check that info in their data base.
3. In their DB, yes. But the people at the service center might or might check that.
4. I think that only video...

Maybe BE works only on video, not sure.
BE works only on videos
But I relocked my bootloader and restored BE back and by the way it's bravia engine 1 not 2

Hellou! I am new here, but straight to the point! I just picked up a z5p and i wanna root it asap. I updated it to the latet update cus on yt there was some talking about the update, they said it fixes some overheating issues. How is the root developement going? Has anyone found a simple easy way? I really wanna switch to my z5p ,but if its not rooted no way. I have a rooted z3 and i simply cant have a phone without root. I am not a pro on android. Ive used ios for 5 years. Allways jailbroken, theres not a single thing i dont know about ios, thats one thing i cant say about android. I know alot more than the basics of rooting an android, but probably for most of the users here im a noob lol. So needing help asap! Thx to everyone who answers!! :good:

I haven't tried this method.. I just posted it to answer your question.. Personally I wouldn't root using this method because I don't want to unlock my boot loader since you lose DRM-keys (TA Partition) and yes that will affect the low-light camera quality etc... Don't know about lag, but you'll definitely lose some of the premium feel....
If I was you and I didn't want to lose any of the things mentioned above, I would probably wait to see a new method to root without unlocking the bootloader. (Root for locked bootloader) that way you don't lose DRM KEYS and can make a backup of the TA Partition..

If you unlocked your bootloader then your DRM keys are lost forever.. And there is no way you can get that back even if you lock the bootloader again.. Everything mentioned earlier is lost forever and can't be accessed back ..

If you were not on full stock rom without root, or anything custom, and you turned off OEM unlocking and USB debugging, then locked the bootloader, you are basically hosed my friend
Look at this point it just needs to be said... PEOPLE STOP RE-LOCKING THE DARN BOOTLOADER!!
PERIOD!!
There are literally a half dozen posts this week with probably bricked phones and a good amount of them are this same root cause.

Your preaching to the choir ol friend! While I agree with you 100%, some things are best learned the hard, and expensive way! I've done it twice myself.
The carpenters rule should apply to these phones as well...."measure twice, cut once" :good:
I remember and I'm sure that i left USB debugging enabled, and the bootloader locked, so is there any hope ?

My friend.....you could give me or anybody else 10 thousand bucks, and it's still not going to solve your problem I'm sorry to say. You should have unrooted the phone first, then fastbooted the factory image, or do a factory reset, and made sure that OEM unlocking & USB debugging were left on until you were done locking the bootloader. Sorry man, but there's not much you can do without at least a stock recovery, so....accept the loss, learn from your mistake, and move on. Many of us here, including myself, have been there as well. What you choose to learn from it is up to you
