[Q][REQ]stock weather widget/clock apk? - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

any way to get the stock accuweather widget/clock? really liked it

I believe that may be contained GenieWidget.apk, I pulled this from ReRFS EC05 ROM zip, it is just the stock rom made flashable.
Use 7-zip to unzip it and copy the apk to your phone, use root explorer to install it or copy it to system/app folder.

unfortunately thats the wrong app. im looking for the stock samsung/accuweather clock

Put in system/app

Kept getting "application not installed"

You have to copy the apk and put it in system/app with root explorer, or es file explorer.

I did that but then i also installed it. Am I not supposed to?

If you put it in system/app, just reboot, and it should be ready to use.

just rename the file .apk
Or just click on the zip and extract the

Sometimes APKs are zipped in a folder. You have to extract the folder to get the APK

Chrome beta renames every apk into a zip. Two solutions:
1. Download your apk with the stock browser.
2. Download Astro file manager (o any other app like astro) to rename the zip.

Yep, that's what I'm saying exactly. It's happened to me numerous times. I prefer root explorer to astro tbh but its just a matter of personal preference. Plus extracting the apk from the zip eliminates having to flash the zip in recovery to install the apk.

FD24 voicemail apk

can some one please post the voicemail apk from the fd24 build?
You can simply extract it from your rom zip file. Unzip your downloaded file and goto system/app folder. You will find the apk file from there. Extract it and move to your phone's /system/app folder. That's it.
Edit: it seems like it's not there. Checking...

if you are referring to visual voicemail, here you go. Push to system/app and check permissions and reboot..

Like I said I was checking more deep inside.
OK. Try this.
1. Copy the vtt-sprint.apk file from zip file to your phone's /system/app folder.
2. Unzip attached file and copy com.coremobility.app.vnotes.apk file to /data/app folder (if the permission is different with other apk files, then change the permission like other files)
3. Reboot and check if you see the voicemail. I think this would be enough to make voicemail working.
If not working,
4. From attached zip file, copy com.coremobility.app.vnotes.apk to your sd card.
5. Run com.coremobility.app.vnotes.apk and this will install the voicemail again.
Done. Let me know if it does not work.

Haven't tried it yet but maybe it requires TW framework? Idk. I'm on AOKP right now, anyone else try this?
Edit: Actually it doesn't look like it needs TW framework since people are getting to work on their Galaxy Nexus's
Hey.....when it is stable ...that's going to be sick bro........it has crazy potential........
UNTOUCHABLE EPIC CM9 BETA 3
running cm9 beta 3 nyan also and it works until i reboot. after reboot get fc. reinstall and works again.
Now.....after reinstall..should I reboot or no..?....I mean I will have to do a reboot eventually...
UNTOUCHABLE EPIC CM9 BETA 3
i would try it without a reboot at all to see if it does work for you. i did not reboot after installing.
I just installed and no reboot no move and it appears to work fine. I would love if eventually the microphone on the screen in cm9 in the search bar could be modified to run svoice instead of googles voice search

It works fine for me on both cm9 builds and additional kernals

Folks, just download the file from here and extract the files from the rar. Push the voicetalk.apk to /system/apps and change the permissions, (or use root explorer) then open the APK file in winrar or winzip, go to the lib folder, then the armeabi folder and extract the libvoxtts.so from that folder. Put the libvoxtts.so file in /system/lib and change the permissions appropriately. Reboot and it will show in the app drawer under S Voice.
No problems on reboot at all. In fact... here are the S voice APK and the lib file already extracted for you, just open in winrar and put the apk in /system/apps/ and the .so file in /system/lib/, change the permissions on both files to rw-r--r-- and then reboot and you will be good to go.

Such a cool app. Works good. A lot of thing are missing and don't work. There are S voice setting we don't have because we are only installing the S voice app and there's more to it. But I will say this, if you are wanting a SGSIII before you try this. This is going to straight piss you off and make it worst. Sprint had better be bring us the full version of this phone.

[Q] accidentally deleted clock after root (4.04)

I rooted my phone following this thread for 4.04 successfully, but I accidentally deleted the system clock app while trying to get rid of the bloatwares. (I think it's called clock 1.0 in root uninstaller)
I checked the system/app folder and I have a file called "clockPackage, odex", but I don't have the "clockPackage.apk" file. Is that the file I need to get the default system clock app back? If yes can someone please upload it for me? otherwise what do I need to do to get it back?
Thanks in advance!
Just open up the rom you have wherever its saved extract the clock.apk. Then copy and paste it to system/app with the same permissions as the other apps r-w-r-r or 644 and root. Then reboot when it boots back up go to app drawer and you will see the clock app again.
