[BOOTANIMATION) Custom bootanimations for CM Nightlys/CyanogenMod 6.1.1

So some users asked for my custom boot animations, and then
I had the idea to start a topic where the users show their
created bootanimations!
Bootanimations should work at the CM Nightly Builds too!
Now time to start with my first try!

Yeah right, but today a bit tired, had night shift still friday

are we just supposed to copy the file to /data/local? I did that and I just got a blank screen for the boot animation

Look at the modded framework thread and download "Color Stat"
open with winrar at look at the update script,there is the bootanimation
symlinked to data/local.

okay so I have it extracted and I see the bootanimation.zip in the data/local folder but what do I do with it from there?
Im reading alot about aliases does that have anything to do with symlink?

Creat right folders,Updat Script,zip the files and sign again.
Difficult to explain for me I´m from germany.
Maybe there are other methods to do this!

Its all good man! I have tried the different methods as well..no luck.
anyway to make a zip to just flash through recovery?

The dancing android is epic thanks for that one I will be uploading it right now.

once you download the file, extract the bootanimation.zip file to the root of the sd card and then using either rootexplorer or terminal copy to /system/media

Or just flash it in recovery wont work through rom manager but just flash it manually through clockwork and your golden!

What we need is a hybrid of the dancing droid and the cyanogen default. Make him Cyanogen colors and put him in the middle of the spinning circle

[BOOTANIMATION] Cool Samsung Boot and alternative sound

Hi there,
I created a bootanimation for myself, specially for the Galaxy SII, and I'd like to share it with you. I mixed some Samsung Boot Logos and created something "magic".

What you need:
-Rooted SGS2
-Bootanimation compatible Kernel
How to:
1.Copy bootanimation_janis605_flashable.zip to sd card. (or bootanimation_nologo_janis605_flashable.zip)
2.Flash it using Recovery (CWM).
Tested to work with "CF-Root v4"
Have Fun!
How to uninstall:
1. Open Root Explorer
2. Navigate to /system/media
3. Delete bootanimation.zip
4. At next reboot the original S-Samsung Logo will be back.
Delete older animations saved in /data/local/ if needed.

Sorry for being a noob, I understand that I have to install the bootanimation into the folder. Can I simply rename the zip file for D/L here as odeananimation.zip or will it be made of fail? Can you be a bit more precise about how to install this boot anim? thank you very much

Works on every phone, every android version and everywhere

Strange can't seem to work on kang's 4.0.3. I was on the optimised nexus boot animation, it reverted back to kang's default animation after I replaced the optimised boot with this one

ok, solved... realize pushing it through via ADB is better than using file explorer, copying pasting >.< thought it's supposed to be the same, but somehow ADB just gives me less problems

Really? I've been trying for two days, thinking it's a temp glitch.
It must be being blocked by one of my antivirus proggys.

I ran the generic bios boot screen on my Captivate. It's good to see a device specific bios boot animation for the Gnex!

Run Only Once
This might be a noob question, so bear with me. Is it possible to make boot animations run only once? It doesn't make sense to me for a BIOS bootscreen to loop XD
EDIT: NVM! Did a quick google search and found that you can adjust the speed, pause times, and loop count by editing the desc.txt file.

If you still have the boot animation stored in your phone, you don't have to worry.You just have to remove the bootanimation from the temporal location. Normally when an app installs a boot animation it stores the files into a semi-permanent location:
/system/media/bootanimation.zip
But the stock bootanimation is stored in the permament location:
/data/local/bootanimation.zip
Check with rootexplorer or other root file manager app if you still have the stock bootanimation in the permanent location; if the files are still there, the you only have to remove the bootanimation.zip file from the semi-permanent location (/system/media/ easy fix 1). If you deleted these files, then you will have to look for stock bootanimations, and insert the files in the permanet location (/data/local/ easy fix 2). Or do a fresh stock install (time demanding fix). Either way, good luck, I hope you get your boot animation back in your device! :good:

This is not a flashable zip, just use ROM Toolbox or any other root app that inserts bootanimations, or use root explorer to manually place the files in /system/media/ and rename the file to bootanimation.zip with permissions rwxr-xr-x

This is wrong section and wrong tutorial, since when bootanimation is in data local? Rename it to bootanimation.zip and push to system- media. Permission rwrr. I just tried on my cm9 and works!
