You can flash the latest release on top, just be sure to wipe cache and dalvik.

No but make sure you do your backup in case something goes wrong!

wipe cache and dalvik in recovery before flashing.
It won't wipe anything. But its a good idea to nandroid backup before flashing just in case something breaks.

stuck in bootloop

i restarted my phone and its stuck on bootloop, what do i do?
Try reflashing the ROM without wiping. BTW, for better help, honestly, you need to explain a lot more than the 3-4 words you have posted.
Actually i got the same prob. I disconnected from usb without pressing turn off (i use cyanogen 7.0.3 stable). After doing so, adw launcher didnt seem to respond so i decided to reboot. After that, i got boot loop on reboot. Flashing the rom again seems to solve the problem, but only until next reboot. Any suggestions?

The same type of question,2-3 sentance, no spec of phone. Dude post your spec.
Else try a clean install, formatting boot, system, cache, dalivc cache, user data, ext , etc.

Do I perform the permission fix after I install the rom

Nop,not necessarily. Cos some will do it as default. But some wont. But it will do no harm if u do, other than consuming 2-5 minutes .

I still can't boot into the Rom still bootloops, I am not sure that the permission fix did anything.

Ok , then the option remaining is restore from backup. If u have the backup of current rom, go to advanced backup in cwm and do system resrore only. And check if it works. If it wont, do full wipe and do a complete restore. No more optns.:-(

i dont have a backup, unfortunantly, looks like i will have to wait until future releases of splash ics then to see if the problem is with other wildfires trying to run that ROM or if it is just mine :-(
Should i redownload the rom to see if that works for me?
Tried wiping data/cache/dalvik cache/system/data-factory reset, and then reflash? 1st boot always takes more time btw.

Well, I am no expert in this.
I need more specific details on ... for example
how to get into recovery mode.
You got to try and do a little research on your own or at least appear you have or people will be less likely to help

Quick Noob Question

So my wife wants me to flash a rom on her still stock phone. ! Every time I flash one on my phone I reset it to factory settings just for the whole new phone feel. But she doesn't want to lose her stuff. Will a new rom mess with any of her things.

If u dirty wipe she wont lose anything. But a clean wipe is recomemded. Also i found after a clean wipe that the ROM feels faster. Gud luck flashing.

What is dirty and clean wipe
Sent from my LG-VM696 using xda premium
It might not make a difference but its a HTC one x.
Sent from my LG-VM696 using xda premium
u can back up all data with titanum back up
A clean wipe is when u wipe : data, cachè, dalvic.
Dirty wipe : only cachè, and dalvic
Trust me it wil differ had tried both on my Gnex and galaxy ace both had superior performance when on clean wipe.

Battery drainage

Hello there,
I can't help but notice a increased battery drainage after flashing viper 3.7.7 and I think it is caused by com.htc.launcher?
I didn't do a full wipe when going from 3.7.5 to 3.7.7 by OTA. Maybe reflashing full Rom will help? Open for suggestions

Wipe cache
Wipe system
Factory reset right?
I don't have the right tools atm to flash and copy the zip again so I will try to do this later!

Wipe dalvik cache
Format cache, data, system in the mounts and storage too to be sure
Wiped all but would not boot up again.. very weird. Restored nandroid and will wipe and flash 3.7.7 full Rom when I get home see if that helps

So many things effect battery life, there isn't a be all end all fix.
You will have to try Rom/kernel combos.

Is this rom compatible?

I found this ROM and it looks nice but it doesn't state wether its for the n7100 or n7105?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992386&nocache=1
I have an N7100 but I just want to be sure.
And I was wondering is format system on CWM recovery the same as wiping cache and davlik? Im new to all of this
No one? It really can't be difficult to answer...
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
If you press the download button it takes you to the download page where they are all listed as N7100
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Uhmmm nope it cannot run on n7100 .. However there other similar ROMs that do support t0lte a.k.a n7105 .. Like jellybam or carbon and many others..

No, formatting system will wipe the rom from the device. Cache and dalvik wipe only the "temporary file" partition.
Do not wipe system unless you are getting ready to flash a new rom. Cache may be wiped at any time and will not delete any of your data.
