How hard would it be to hack the camera app, and allow it to use a line in input (3.5mm) while in camcorder mode, instead of the internal mic? If anyone could do this, it would make a boy very happy .

Does anyone knows how to set the receiver loopback on in an Evo 4G? i need to test microphone and earpiece speaker simultaneously.
I've tried with an android app but it seems that the only way its to record and play, and the quality is too poor, also you can hear a delay.
Also i found some diagnostic nbh file that have this loopback option but it makes other things such as format and stuff i dont want.
Thanks
Hi,
I have an "Ashutc Wireless Smartphone Photo RF Remote". Its a bluetooth remote that is supposed to function as a camera button for your phone, so you place your phone on a hard to reach place and then take photos without touching the phone.
Its supposedly compatible with android and iphone, and has two buttons, one for each OS. It pairs with my phone well, but clicking the android shutter button just toggles the flash setting, and clicking the iphone button opens the camera settings.
Does anyone know how I can change what the buttons do, so that I can take pictures?
I'm thinking the Tasker app maybe can be useful with this? But I'm far too clueless about how to use the app and its possibilities.
Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm thinking about buying one of these and re-configuring the buttons for music controls. The small size would make it great to mod into steering wheel music controls for an older car.
Hey there,
I was looking for a similar solution, but with any bluetooth headset.
Got it working via Tasker for any camera app, just have a look here:

Hope I could help. ^^
Did anyone get one else of those fob thingies with their M8 that does the same thing?
Having the same problem with my selfie stick... It toggles the flash instead of taking photo....
Appreciate if someone could help!
My wife's Note 3 has no issue with that...
Hey, I'm looking for a way to use an external mic to record audio on my Nexus 7 2013 LTE. I did a quick search and didn't find anything so I apologize if I missed it. Looking for an app or possibly a rom that allows me to choose what apps see as the default mic. I'm willing to purchase a couple of minor accessories if needed.
Specifically, I'm trying to record sermons directly from the tape out on a mixer. I'm pretty sure this device has a trrs audio jack if I understand correctly and I already have a trss adapter that splits audio in and audio out, I just cant figure out a way to make an app use that mic input rather than the internal mic. I don't care what app is required as long as it's not outrageously priced as I'm paying for this myself.
It depends on what kind of microphone you're thinking of using. But so far as I know, plugging in a phone type external microphone would automatically cut off the internal and use the external instead, as in using app like skype or voice recorder. What do you need a special app for?

Click to collapse
the "mic" would be a tape output from a mixer
Many of the posts on working with an external microphone suggests you use open camera app or G-cam port apk. Which accepts an external microphone. While Oxygen OS OTA updates do not seem to add this feature. Many of you purchased an expensive external microphone to use with a stock camera for OP6t. But it does not seem to work.
An alternative approach to this problem is for both rooted and non-rooted is to make a WhatsApp call. Your mic is connected through a USB-C adopter with 3.5mm jack input TRRS to TRRS 4 pole plug.
While in a voice call switch to the stock OS camera and then record.
While you are recording stop the WhatsApp call and then go on taking the input from the external mic. once recording stops you need to go through the whole process again and again.
However, sometimes if the call goes longer in ringing mode. If you delay disconnecting the call while recording, the sound may go out of sync for video and audio. It's better to disconnect the call as soon as you start recording the video. But this solution is problematic for content creators. If something or any other app that can emulate WhatsApp calls would be good enough to make OS think of that external mic as input. I already tried with the stock screen recording app which has a microphone option but it does not work either.
After going through google search, I am not sure anyone would have any other alternative solution like Magisk Module or Xposed modules for external mic or any other. This issue with the external mic is widely ignored for the stock camera. Reason to work with Stock Camera is to take advantage of OP6T's 4k60fps and its best way to take what OP6t has to offer. While other apps do this with 30fps.
For those who are content creators like making youtube videos etc, the solution to this problem would be a gift for all to take advantage of OP6T to its full potential. Let me know if this partial solution helps.
Hello, I was just wondering if external microphones work when using the front camera on the camera app on the S22? I know you can go into PRO mode and use it there but I need to use the front camera with an external microphone.
Thankyou
Yes. How else would you do video calls?
