Does anyone know how to change the color of the font in the setting.apk?
im trying to the the color in these two pics attached. im looking to change the blue touchwiz color font to red and the in the other pic, i wanna change the regular whitish color font to red as well. idk if you have to edit .xml files or what so any help would be nice
Not a wiz on this but yes the xml files have to have the hex values of those colors instead of the original hex values for the original colors. Shouldn't be hard to find those values if you use gimp, you can pick a color and the hex value shows as the selected colors name

If you only want to go from white to black , you can choose it on settings/homescreen/color scheme. If you want to make your own colors you got to edit your phone's .xml file.
Tnx for reply!
I did modify xml file to change font to black, but can't move file into settings
I modified the xml file for the Live theme to change the font color from white to black and copied the file back to my phone using Active Sync. The file is there - I can open it and look at it and see the change, but I cannot move it to the Settings area where the actual theme, colors, etc. are selected. How do I do that or is there another way to apply the file to the homescreen?
Thx in advance!!

The edited .xml files have to be placed in My Device/Application Data/Home for you to be able to choose it from settings/homescreen/color scheme.

I am running ee1.29...I am loving the look except the text in the menus is stilll the ugly aqua...I am curious how I can mod the rom to make it the blue used in froyo? Thanks
Ok...so no suggestions...how about could someone mod it for me?
The text is aqua or the text is highlighted with an aqua backgroud when you press it? I do not use the same rom you do so could you supply a screen shot?
Sub text in menus is aqua

I'm guessing its in the Settings.apk file. You have to use apktool to decompile the .apk file and then you can read the xml and look for the color (ie FF000000 for white) and change it to what you are looking for.
I'll see if I can figure it out and attach the modified Settings.apk. Do you have a specific color you were wanting?

I appreciate your help, but I have moved on too froyo...thanks anyway
Hi, it's just that i want to change the font colour of my rom (it's still is in beta mode and i haven't post it, but it'll soon come). My rom is based on the framework of the nexus s and its systemui.apk so everything is the same, but when im at any place and i press the button left to the home button, and it displays the extra options, the extra options are in the same colour as the font (black) and i can't see it. I would just copy the xml files on the nexus s framework (i suppose it's located there), but its far better if i learn how to change it myself. I'm a bit noob at rom cooking, and i know the basics, how to edit the framework, edditing apk's appearance, cooking it, making it into a flasheable zip, but the thing i don't know is how to this.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks
If I'correct then in twframework in /res/values should be xml file color.xml and in there should be color hex code with most colors used in theme or in /res/drawable is quite few xml files for some menus. You edit xml with some better editor. Hope this can jelp a little rrst will theme modders add

yeah prob, but i forgot to say font color...smh
ok i figured out that the certain font colors im trying to change is dependent on what you click on --> apps, games, movies (the tabbed color on the main screen next to the selection) matches the color of the font after you click on the section you choose & i want 2 versions one all red one all white & i have no idea how these are changed bc it matches the .9.pngs that are the colored tabs for the selections, so i dunno if it reads the color for the fonts from the .9.pngs or if its separately controlled by a xml file

Does ANYONE know what XML file I would have to edit in the Facebook for android apk to make the text color of the app widget white?
-Meaning if you have the FB widget on your homescreen, usually the background is white and the text is black..ish. My background is now black and I want the text to be white instead of black...ish.
I can read the text, but it's quite annoying. And no, I do not want to go back to a white background if that was your solution = )
Thanks!

There are many xmls to look for. Check the values folder under color or drawable. Or it could be in layout under appwidget

Yep, well I looked in there, but I wasn't sure it was the right spot to change the color since I kept seeing #ff000000 instead of #000000 which after extensive googling, I found out the ff is the transparency and the rest is hex. Ok so that makes sense now.
So for ANYONE who may want to know this... first decompile the apk so you can edit the xml color in values\drawable.xml and then compile apk AND THEN edit your res\hdpi files. Otherwise it doesnt work. This was the case for me anyway. I could be 101% incorrect, but this is the way it worked for me
