Just as asked in the title, I'm wondering if I should get the SGP Neo Hybrid EX or the Walnutt Bumper. I want to get a bumper case so that I can use the 2000mah battery in future and I'm personally inclined towards getting the Walnutt one but I just have doubts over both bumpers, and would appreciate if current owners of these cases in help with your input
For the SGP Neo Hybrid EX, does the silicone layer at the front of the phone feel flappy? Like if I just gently tug at it, it starts to peel open like it's not tight?
For the Walnutt case, I've seen some comments made in the Walnutt thread that the side buttons are difficult to press. To what extend is it difficult? Is it like hard and when u press it, it just feels like nothing had been pressed?

been using a walnutt bumper for quite a while now.. and yes, the side button is hard to press.. specifically the volume up button.. but i like it that way..

The design of the Walnutt is better IMO and mine is not hard to press any button at all.

are you using the 2000mah extended battery? is the Walnutt 'tag' at the back in the way of the battery cover of the extended battery?

my first case was a sort of see through (clear) gel/silicon one off ebay. i guess it was cheap china make.....
it has now gone a dull shade of yellow and its just not nice....

Same here. Only $3 bucks from ebay. It gives the feeling of more grip and a bit heavier to handle. The phone was very slippery and super light. Now its balanced

Tpu gel cases for me..dun intend to spend big bucks on them since I be changing phone every 6 months.
I'm using a gloss white Barely There Casemate case, doesn't add much extra bulk and gives it some nice white lines along the sides.
Could you take some pictures of the Arc in the Barely There Casmate case? Seems to be the only case that will look okay for me, but would love to see some pics that are not made by the seller.
I saved the original battery cover and bought one from ebay that I use. The phone still looks new except that I need to replace the original screen protector.
I hope Arc replacement will better Nokia N9 in simplicity. I just got N9 and I find it makes my Arc look ugly :-(

When it comes to a case for my smartphone I’m pretty picky, however, the Gloss Black TPU Cover Skin for the HTC Droid Incredible 2 is hands down my favorite. It offers style and protection without breaking the bank which is a major plus for me.
The case is not made of the same material as your typical silicon case so you don’t have to worry about it stretching after time and not fitting your phone as snug as it did on day 1. It’s made out of a material called Thermoplastic polyurethane, which is why it won’t stretch like typical silicon cases but still offers incredible (see what I did there?) shock absorption and abrasion resistance.
It has cutouts for all the buttons and ports with the exception of the volume rocker. Some say it’s a little difficult to adjust the volume but I haven’t had a problem with it. On the interior of the case it has a slick looking argyle pattern, I think this was a way to make two versions of the same case while saving money on materials. I think that’s pretty damn smart and I actually like the pattern on the inside (kinda reminds me of the bright red coloring under the battery cover of the OG Inc).
All in all, this is my favorite case for this phone to date. You can pick it up on Ebay or Amazon and there are more pics after the jump.

I just got a case like this today that is made from the same material and its great! I really like how it doesn't bulk up the phone and won't fall off like silicone or plastic cases.

good idea, i'll try to reach out to the company that makes them and see if they are willing to do it.
After hearing feedback that the Barely There Case was found not an exact fit I thought I'd try out an alternative. I decided on the Hard Hybrid Back Case which can be found on ebay for less than £3. I also bought the even cheaper (99p) S-line for comparison.
The S-line I found easy to fit and remove, it had more protection on the top and bottom but it felt and looked cheap. The buttons were also covered with plastic which I didn't like.
The Hybrid case is very much styled like the CaseMate Barely There case but fits better, it's very snug and snaps over the Nexus. Getting it off can take a couple attempts. It has cut outs for both buttons which I prefer and has a nice grippy feel. Here are a couple pics:

On a side note, OP - would you mind sharing the settings widget you are using? I like that the background is transparent.
AH i ordered a bunch of the hybrid cases off ebay. they are feel really nice! the only thing i dislike is how incredibly frustrating it is to take it off >:| (yes i swap cases often to keep the look fresh) but I have a white one and a dark purple one. as well as a S-line case. the S-line case feels nice but kinda bulky ><
each of my cases are like $2-$3
i'll post pictures of the white one once it arrives >> (two week shipping from HK)

Case looks pretty nice. Currently using Otterbox Defender or whatever and it's comically huge.
Looks like a nice case, was going to ask if it would fit the LTE nexus but it looks like the seller doesn't ship to the states :/

u have to look around. all of the sellers based in Hong Kong would be willing to sell to the states. however, alot of the EU based sellers wont. it took me a good 20 minutes to find a white hybrid case that could be shipped to the US
Just some quick pics of my new SPIGEN SGP Ultra Hybrid case in Soul Black. This case is excellent quality and very slim profile. Easy to take on and off without scratching your phone.
Volume button fit could be better as the edge of the case juts out a bit around the volume buttons. I'll post some more pics later on and have more comments after some more use.
EDIT: I have the GSM version
I also picked up the SGP Crumena in black and I'll post some pics of it compared to the Sena UltraSlim case later on.

I may be traumatized by my recent purchase of an Incipio Feather, poor fit with a nasty gap in the spot I mentioned. I'll try to return it to the store, but I raped the packaging, so we'll see.

Wouldn't fit. I have an Ultra Hybrid as well, and the interior is clearly contoured to fit only the stock battery, and that area is hard plastic so it's not going to flex or mold to the shape of the extended battery. The lip is also present on the outside of the case, though that may not be easily visible from the photos.

Says its a 2100mah battery, I think he meant 2000mah. Doesn't look like a perfect fit, but it appears doable.

yeah that one, the neo hybrid is good because it is tpu and hard case in one, which offers better protection. And is relatively slim. I would not recommend ultra thin or ultra fit cases from spigen or ringke. I used these cases and they scratched the hell out of my phone.
If I could start from scratch, I would get a neo hybrid
wonder what matches better with black N5, the slate or silver

What type of protection/case are you looking for?
Minimal (slim/hardshells, just for scratch/light bump protection only, nudist approved)
Full body/thin (TPU cases generally, for bumps and light drops)
Full body/little more lovin (usually a combo of TPU/hard shell, can take a light fall, but it shows and let you know the risks)
Full body/full lovin (thick and soft ala otterbox, for the clumsy folk, takes a beating and asks for more).
I bought this one at Amazon. Decided to cut a hole in the front so when you open it, you can still take a picture. Works well, has magnetic on/off (which I didn't know the N5 had). Be warned, there is 1/16" plastic in the front cover that is very hard. Case with hole:

Neo hybrid is not slim. That thing makes the phone very wide. If you want slim with good protection either get the diztronic case or the cruzerlite case.

+1 for Diztronic. super slim and sleek. cheap and good quality. won't stop a bullet but it'll protect against scuffs

Using the Diztronic tpu case. Really slim and keeps the curve of the phone. The neo hybrid squares off the phone and makes it seem bigger.
