Can anyone recommend a good anti glare screen protector - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hi sorry if this has been posted before but I tried searching using the xda app and its useless basically.
I just got my s2 last night so have been playing with it constant all day. I love it coming from the nexus s which was also pretty awesome but have one small problem, I find the super amoled plus screen very reflective in day light. I use my phone quite a bit as a sat nav and today I was struggling to see it in my car. I had the brightness set to auto which always worked well on nexus but not so much today. I had a protector on my nexus but unsure of the make, was just a cheapo one off of ebay.Has anyone any experience with a good anti reflective screen protector that wont dull down the screen too much?
Cheers

Thanks for the recommendation. I see its quite expensive, does it have anti glare to deal with the reflections from sunlight?
Edit to say I've just read a couple of reviews on this cover and a lot of people are noticing the screen becoming less responsive.

You could try SGP Ultra Optics, Power Support Matte or 3M Estoc+. I think their pros and cons have been discussed in a few other threads, so take a look around this Accessories sub-forum.

Thanks for the reply Tyrol
Looked at a few reviews and video of the SGP ultra optics and I think that will fit my needs. I see that it is anti-UV ray coated so should help with the reflections somewhat when I'm out and about in the car

I recommend the SGP ultra fine, looks great on the SGS2 and really cuts down on glare and fingerprints. I got mine from Amazon (free 2nd day shipping with Prime).

I was always a fan of Boxwave's screen protectors. I don't use anything now because of my Otterbox, but they were always great with other phones I had.
I'm getting my replacement phone tomorrow so I'm doing an order for my screen cover from Hand Held Items. So far I have been really pleased with their service, and all the stuff I have ordered for my poor Incredible.
Seidio sells what you want, you get 2 for $15. Best to order from a place where shipping is free.
I personally like these kind. Zagg are hype.
SGP ultra crystal is by far the best screen protector out there. level 4 hardness, ultra smooth glass like swype, no change in sensetivity, easy installation and great price. interested in seeing the new ultra optics anti-fingerprint, anti-glare with optical qualities of the ultra crystal.

+1 for the sgp ultra crystal. I've tried a lot of different screen protectors and this is the best both for quality and installation. Perfect installation is a breeze with these screen protectors.

+2 on the SGP Ultra Crystal. Though I just switched to the Ultra Fine anti-glare / fingerprint. It took a little getting used to, but in the end I am happy I made the switch.
Recently picked up these: http://phonedevil.com/
Fitment isn't absolutely perfect, but they are easy to apply and give a feel almost identical to glass.
My sgp ultra crystal is great visually. Its only noticeable by finger when you have excessive oil. Daily use, its been great!
+1 For the SGP. I have it and it feels great. Plus, you can't see that its there and it doesn't even sacrifice viewing angles.

I've tried lots of them and can't recommend much else but the Zagg. The only time I notice it is if there is light reflecting off of it when the screen is off and I can see the "orange peel" effect. These are the only shields that I can beat the crap out of and they don't scratch.
Back from the dead I see. Im still using the same ones I bought which are good only if you have a case cuz you can really feel them from the sides without it.

[Q] SPG Glas Screen Protector VS SGP ultra crystal Screen Protector .. what the best

Please everyone i am confused
what is the best one ?
SGP ultra crystal Screen Protector
or
SPG Glas Screen Protector
which one last longer ?
and which one effect less at the sensitivity of the touch screen ??
which one has less chance to bubbles appears ?
which one having less problem at all than other ??
please i would like to decide ASAP
I use the SGP Glas. It looks cool and offers really good protection. Now maybe I didn't do the great job putting the screen on, but sometimes, I have to push the screen harder than I'd like to for the phone to register. When I notice this happening, I usually smooth the screen down with my shirt and it seems to work fine. Haven't used the other protector, so I can't comment there.

i had the SGP ULTRA CRYSTAL and then replaced it with the SGP GLAS and i am very impressed with the SGP GLAS it combines a very very good protection, a very good feel, no color Distortion and also a very hard to scratch surface.
i also had the sensitivity problem but after looking at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1142141
i saw this:
*Screen Sensitivity Issues with SGP Glas*
This has been tackled many times on different threads and even SGP admits it on the Glas product page.
Flashing your phone with a custom kernel, like ninphetamine, is already available that corrects this sensitivity issue.
Click to collapse
so i installed the ninphetamine kernel and it did fixed the probelm and after that i installed the speedmode kernel that also has this fix but in my opinion is better.
so after fixing the sensitivity problem my opinion is that the SGP GLAS is absolutely amazing on all aspect (no color distortion, good feel like the original screen, no affect on sensitivity and of course a very good screen protection).
Thanx friends ,
tell me please about the SPG Glas .. what is the expected life time of it ?
i mean how long it last on my phone ??
is it last longer or zagg screen shield ?
because i used zagg on my older phone
it's more than year and it still good
zagg provide endless Guarantee , what about glas one ??
so what about Glas life time ? longer , shorter or the same ??
i decided to order 2 SGP GLAS pieces and Neo Hybrid tomorrow
but i would like to know first about the life time of it
waiting asap friends
I got a GLAS not too long ago as well. The actual screen protector is made with glass, so I don't see why it shouldn't last longer than the regular conventional screen protectors. I actually purchased the ultra oleophobic not too long ago, which resists oil. The GLAS has the same properties, so I'm pretty glad with the product so far.
and actually, regarding the ultra crystal, I used the one they included when i bought my hybrid sgp case, and even though you can't beat the clarity, i didn't like the stickiness of the film. The GLAS is def. more smooth.
Ultra crystal is cheap, but doesn't protect against oil, leading to rainbow effects, and any imperfection in the cut will have those annoying vertical lines, as well as incredibly clarity on every piece of dust you trapped with the screen protector.
The SGP Glas is nice, I just applied it, however, it's not as nice as a true anti-oleophobic protector, it doesn't fit perfectly, as in I lined up all the sensors and camera, but the capacitive buttons don't line up with the lights, and it's impossible to line it up perfectly, which makes me wish i had steadier hands/better eyesight. But even if it's off a little bit, it's still damn good. It also will demand you to root your phone, since Samsung wants the charger to charge the phone instead of pick up your touchscreen commands.
TL;DR: You get what you pay for.
Just wondering, does anybody put a screen protector on top of the SGP GLAS? Getting mine soon.

Not everyone likes their screen protectors glossy, but extra tampered glass in front of the screen to absorb the initial impact (if it comes to that) can be handy.
The Glas however, only comes glossy.
So yes, call me strange but I use a screen protector (SGP Optics) on top of a screen protector (Glas) and the SGS2 screen is taking it like a champ. Except for the capacitive buttons lol.

I have the glas. I'll remove it as soon as I receive my shadowskinz one.
Glas was fine for the first 2 days then a bubble/black dot that appeared in the middle. I can remove it but as soon as I put it in my pocket it reappear.
Dunno if it's the heat in my pocket but it's not that great.
I tried the SGP ultra clear one it was a little better than glas but not enough. If my shadowskinz sick, it's gonna be a Zagg.

Any matte screen protectors

Matte as in anti glare? I always go with a clarivue anti glare protector. Use coupon code ICS2011 for 10% off I have one on my transformer, i had one on my iphone, i had one on my ipad, i had one on my droid x2, they work amazingly
Made the mistake of picking up a cheap matte screen protector off eBay. Although it went on smoothly, it kills the screen quality making it all grainy. Not sure if this happens with all matte protectors but had to order the SGP one as a replacement.
Thanks for the responses. I've always used matte anti glare so I'm just use to them since Droid x all the rest seem to show scratches faster and the rubber like ones begin to show marks and such from my experiences.
Thanks I'll be trying those recommened

I am not recommending a matte screen protector, I bought 2 different brands accidentally and you can see this rainbow like pixels on the screen of my GN. It is really annoying specially when your browsing webpages and watching videos.
I had matte on my BB Torch and Bold 9900/9810 and I just got accustomed to seeing past it, if you will.

all matte screen protectors have that grainy look as far as i know. that's what makes them matte. if you're looking for something to repel fingerprints, then you might want to take a look at the sgp ultra oleophobic but know that it wont help with glare/reflections. i got a cheap matte screen protector from ebay to use until i find something better.

Well there are some not worth mentioning, came free and I believe the brand was Nilkin. So I'll just show the links of the ones I've tried:
http://list.gmarket.com.sg/item/COLORANT-MADE-IN-JAPAN-IPHONE-4-4S-SAMSUNG/404955809
It's a cheaper SGP Ultra Oleophobic, comes with 2 pieces and it's kinda okay I guess. Coating comes off after about a month of use.
http://list.gmarket.com.sg/item/3M-ANTI-GLARE-SCREEN-PROTECTOR/405018828
Terrible. Simply terrible matte screen protector. The rainbow effects are off the charts, although feel is good.
http://list.gmarket.com.sg/item/SGP-STEINHEIL-ULTRA-OPTICS-SCREEN/405134076
It's still one of the more decent SGP screen protectors. Ultra Optics is still superior to most that were available at the market a few months back.

All 3 of them should be coming soon and I'll be testing them side by side with 2 other Note users, so I can get a better comparison. The other 2 brands are quite well recommended on random Korean blogs, and the 3M one is not too shabby when I used it on a friend's SGS2.

I'm still looking for that matte screen protector with minimal display deterioration.
Matte screen protectors just feel so different and looks awesome.

Thanks
Matte screen protectors but they reduce screen quality ..

Sgp ultra optics is perfect balance between clarity and fingerprint reduction.
However its downfall is if you clean it too many times using a damp cloth or any sort of cleaner, it loses its amazingness. Smudges and smears become impossible to wipe. I use 1 a month and put a new one on then.
If you wipe it down using only a microfiber cloth twice a day it will hold up fine.

Because:
-Anti-finger print doesn't wear off
-Good outdoor view
-Amazing texture
-Looks awesome
Display should get deteriorated but there should be atleast one high quality matte protector out there that does it in a minimal way.

I was thinking about a Spigen Screen protector. I think that the clear one for the GNote 10.1 is actually called Spigen Ultra Crystal (and not "Ultra Clear").
There's also a "Matte" version that is called Ultra Fine (Anti-Fingerprint)
I've read good reviews about the latter one here but I haven't bought it (yet).
Spigen page for the GNote 10.1 is here
Most Official accessories SUCK.
Learned it the hard way with the Asus Transformer TF101. The official case was twice the price, and a QUARTER of the quality of the AFTER MARKET cases.

The re-designed Ghost Armor screen protectors work perfectly. Have had one on mine for over a week now. I am drawing on my Note daily and there are no scratches on the protector at all. I got the full body shield so it was a little expensive, but I just like their product and have it on all of my devices. I've seen a few posts here mention that Ghost Armor on the original Note phone was no good and scratched easily. If you decide to go with Ghost Armor, make sure it is the NEW version if you're ordering from a kiosk. I also waited the painstakingly long 48 hours before using a pen on the screen.
clearplex
I used the clearplex screen protector and they are very nice. They boast that they are like zagg invi shield and protects the screen from breaks and stuff. They use the same material they use for car windshields. They have excellent customer service because I had a problem installing it because of my own mistake and i called them and they happily sent me a new one. (They have a 1 year warranty on the protector.) $19 is a very cheap price.
It feels like glass, looks like glass. And installation is very easy, you dont have to worry about the air bubbles that normal screen protectors have. i give it 9/10. -1 point because it takes a few days before the streaking fades away and you had to use the squeegee to maintain the bond for a few days. Other than that, I am pretty happy with this

I never got ghost armor before and am considering it. Can they put it on at the kiosk the same day you come in or do you need to leave your device there?
Could the people who post recommendations please write a bit about how and what they use the tab for! This will be helpful for users in similar scenario to decide which one to go for that suits their specific use needs.
For example;
Screen protector name, price and possible link -

Cons-
Etc,

As long as they have the protector there at the kiosk they can put it on the same day you go in. It took about 45 minutes for them to install mine because after they put it on they place it in a heat box to help it dry faster. If they don't have the protector they will order it and call you when it's in. I had to do that once and it took about 7 days to get there since my kiosk only gets shipments once a week.

Could the people who post recommendations please write a bit about how and what they use the tab for! This will be helpful for users in similar scenario to decide which one to go for that suits their specific use needs.
For example;
Screen protector name, price and possible link -
Device main use -
Pros -
Cons-
Etc,
Klau1 could then collate this info into the first post with links etc.

I agree, a lot of the posts here just mention that the screen protector is "good". But neglects to describe the S-PEN experience with it.
The S-PEN functionality is the purpose of this thread so it's important to comment on that, before I can post it to the OP.
