This came from a request for a similar dialer to the iphone 'pay phone' dialer. I got all the kinks worked out last night and I am going to have 2 different versions; one which will be 100% custom graphics with PRESS effects and everything, one that replicates a pay phone using pictures for the buttons instead of graphics.
I flashed this to my phone last night and everything worked perfectly, I still have to make some changes to the PNGS for when you rotate the screen LANDSCAPE and possibly try and figure out how to change the Dialer Text color so I can theme the rest of the background without making it hard to read.
!!This has been tested on EG22 AND EH17!!
If you try flashing it to any other version, please make a backup of your system/app/dialertabactivity.apk before flashing so you can easily fix it!

The wife upgraded from 1.5.2 and got force closes all over the place. I uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache and still problems. Just a heads up for anyone else who has upgraded (I haven't on my own Evo yet)
That app itself is plagued with problems. I get them as well. Is the phone rooted? If so trying going to "terminal" and typing su, then fix_permissions

It's not just CM7, its 1.5.3. Restore it to 1.5.2 if you have it backed up. Androids facebook app is terrible

If you guys want, I can upload Facebook 1.5.2 until Facebook gets around to fixing their updated app! I ripped it out of a Sense Rom I had downloaded but never got around to flashing.

Yeah I think it was a good 75 percent of the people that updated got FCs......their reviews are hosed down with 1 stars! From now on, I'm going to be really careful with their updates!

Based off 1.5.2 but zipaligned and PNG optimized the **** out of it

Hope you guys enjoy! I have a lot of things I would like to do as far as themes and app modding but just not enough time. I am going to try to tackle a few MMS color schemes, then move to matching swype things and 'inverting' apps like gmail to be transparent black.

i did that to all 14 or so 'keyboard' PNGs in 20 minutes found a super easy way in photoshop, w00t w00t..

Flashed over revolution revolted rom, messaging bubbles look good buut getting fc's on the swipe, tried unchecking gb keyboard only checking swipe under settings but still fc's. Maybe cause I already had gb keyboard installed? Great job on the bubbles......lookin good! Still let's me use gb keyboard.

o yay... GB keyboard uses patch 9 for the keys... :grumble grumble: its good and bad.. makes for harder initial theming, but much much MUCH easier to redesign the keyboard..
I can't even find the stock GB keyboard i just installed on my phone, so i guess ill start with that apk and see what heppens..
might take a little longer to get up though because of the patch 9 deal!
I am going to totally make it custom though, wont be using that design or the stock GB design for the button style!!

I think I am going to try my hand at starting a custom black/red theme for EG22.
Little bit bright but can't really tell what it will look like on the computer but I think it is alright. Definitely want to tone down the swype red and the top message background but test looks nice. Also going to do the red black to the gingerbread keyboard!

Just to answer a few questions, this is based off Calk's 1.1 Rom
I have tried porting over the dialer with negative results using the files you have listed, the T-Mobile SGS2 Port and the Original. It seems that there are some additional XML edits that I am not familiar with.
@OP - Calk just dropped 1.5, any plans to update your ROM as well?
This ROM is running smooth, images & colors look great!
Can't comment on battery yet, but I'm assuming it'll be fine due to the base you're using. Speaking of which, do you plan to update to the 1.5?

Well this is another rant by someone nearly bricking their device now its my turn. This is more of a heads up than anything. I was running CM9 Beta3 and decided the icons at the bottom of the launcher were just not working for me (visually) they were to big so i decided to search for a density changer..... Well I found one it ran and made it seem like i was going to have my density changed. Unfortunately upon reboot CM never started up :-( I decided id go back into my rouge recovery and just wipe data and flash again....

that f*$#ing ICS recovery with the big android in the background with gears in its stomach...
Ok so i'm pissed at my self now what a dumb ass....
so i figured ahh ill just push a recovery via adb...
well did that but for some reason didn't work :-( Strange i have done this a few times before on my old evo...
well make along story short i had to ODIN the the phone back to stock.
So now I leave you with my crappy little story about not using a density changer on the market. unless you want to erase the damn phone and start all over again.

Read more, look on the bright side this will be a good learning experience. This is why phones don't come with root access straight from the manufacturer. It should be safe to set your density down to 200, anything below 200 you will need to download or flash a modified phone.apk
Try looking into theme's and mods section, I normally give a link but sometimes it's good to practice searching also. Don't take this the wrong way though. I had a couple close calls myself with my first phone.
thing is this isnt my first phone as a matter of fact i usually do everything via adb shell but i been taking the easy road letting these auto root packages do all the work lately so when **** hit the fan i was like fk :-( I didnt want to go through all that code just to figure out what went wrong. It is a hard lesson learned.
what app did you use? rom toolbox never failed me.. never set it below 190 except when i used the tablet UI mod and it just fcd until i could flash the .zip. i rebooted phone with it set to 128 and it booted lol

U do know u can't push recovery with adb on this phone? Ur best bet would of been to Odin el26 and reflash

Not sure if anything similar has been poster before but I made a Galaxy S III themed dialer.
It's based off stock FF18 and it should work on all FF18 ROMs that have not had extensive modifications done to contacts.apk and phone.apk
Use ES File explorer or something similar to copy and paste into the system/app folder on your device.

very well thought out theme ..thought other themes were nice until I saw this one.

The point of this dialer is to look like the dialer from the GS3 (Which looks pretty close to it)

I dig the dialer and what not, but cant stand the ics favorite tab. Any way to get it back to the old gb style that the e4gt came with?

well let me be the one to say that i gave it a try on CM9 and it didnt work when i pushed to system/apps/ i also noticed that upon rebooting after pushing these that my signal status at the top disappeared. (Gone) just wiped cache and dalvic and flashed CM9 again and everything is back to normal but seems that since the framework is different there maybe some comp issues...

Honestly. This dialer completes the sgs3 ROM. The thing that really makes it stand out is that you did both parts. The dialer and in call dialer. Most don't do that. Very nice job.

I think this really adds a polish to the rom myself!
Can this be ported to AOKP and AOSP? I would LOVE to see this on AOKP! The dialer on AOKP sorta sucks. No disrespect to the dev, it's a google thing I know.
The phone and contacts setup on GB is much nicer then whatca get on AOKP for example. This theme though, WOW! If AOKP had anything like this, I wouldn't have gone back to TW Gingerbread!
Would gladly donate if that gets the ball rolling!

What rom are you running? Is it a Touchwiz rom or other?
Did you follow the steps exactly?
We would love to help you, but honestly? Saying "Didn't work for me....." gives very little info!
