I've had android "SRMix_3D_Data++HBOOT_V1.8.2_signed" on my desire
and I tried to install a script for data2ext and reinstall that rom again
so it did install and keeps give me error in installing
so I've tried another version from the same rom supporting data2ext and after the installation the mobile did not start will and gives me that the mobile memory is full
so I've tried to wipe all mobile data and formatted everything on the mobile and when installing any rom (if I could install) still gives me that the memory is full and cannot see what made the memory that full and I cannot operate on my mobile
by the way I've tried a patch to move delvik data before installing any rom
and I tried to install s-off again and cannot (mine no is s-off)
so what can I do to clear that memory thing and install another GB rom and would be great to install a data2ext
I recommend supernova extreme. All you need is ext4, and you don't need s off. Stable and fast.
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
I dont know if the problem is in a rom
the problem as I stated b4 is that when I install any rom even 2.2 or 2.3 keeps telling me the memory is full
and I've used a zip file to move delvik, maybe it is the problem
anyway I will try the supernova rom
update
I've installed supernova extreme and after reboot it stuck on s-off screen
cannot operate on my HTC desire
any ideas?
hello there
any solution there?
I don't get your problem... What's your recovery ? You can clear everything in recovery, wipe all and install proper ROM for example Ginger Villain. If your ROM doesn't work, it must be you forgot to read their requirement, check it again and flash it again
If you want S-OFF to install other Hboot, try http://revolutionary.io/. If got any error, post it here so we can troubleshoot.

Definitely sounds like a data issue. I really don't know what you've done here. How does it respond without SD card in?

Think we need to S-off and flash custom recovery now. Then we can do some checks in adb as to what is on /data. Possibly delete it, or format /data via recovery.
What PVT version does it say in hboot?

Hello,
I think i need some help here....
I have flashed dozens of roms and have not had any problems but i have just tried another there going from LeeDroid to AuraxTSense and now my phone either goes in a boot loop or freezes.
I can get into recovery and have wiped everything and tried to recover my nanadroid backup but it still freezes at bootscreen or loops.
I noticed at the end of the nandroid restore it said MD5 Mismatch.
Can anyone help me out here?
Cheers.
I had the same problem a few weeks ago. The problem came from my sdcard.
After installing a rom try booting without the sdcard/with an other sdcard. You can also try to format the sdcard on your computeur (sd-ext included).
You could also run a logcat when stuck/bootloop, this will give u more information.
Hope this help

i seem to be having the same problems, other sdcard did not help though
Trying to go back to some older ROMS to get another kernel..
EDIT: a little summary:
wiped everything, partitioned the SD card (tried with swap, without swap, with ext3 and ext4 partititons)
-tried both 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2 and 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14 radios
-tried switching back to 7.8.1 (worked) and than to 7.9 again (didn't work)
-with 7.8.1 tried to flash the OC kernel alone (didn't work)
What does didn't work mean:
White HTC BootScreen Loop maybe 10 times .. than just stays there (tried to wait for 2 hours - still nothing)
HBOOT version 0.80
Flashing with Clockworkmod Recovery using ADB (maybe i could try a newer one.... any links plz? couldn't google it down)
T-Mobile HTC Desire - unbranded and rooted
16GB Class 2 Kingston SD
The problem came from your sdcard.
You dont need to change the sdcard.
Take it out, format on your computer (use usb format tool maybe better), copy your ROM to sdcard, install it.

Nope any ROM with an overclocked kernel does not work for me - it only boot loops and than freezes at the white htc boot screen.
Wiping didn't help - look up - tried nearly everything....
Sometimes Clockworkmod doesn't format the sdcard properly.
Same problem happenned to some people trying to flash Sense HD rom and getting bootloop.
You can try with adb in recovery :

I have this problem too. And in my opinion - sd card not a reason of phone freeze and reboot. I think here is a problem with kernel. I change 2 sd cards, a lot of rom's and problem did;nt dissapears. After, I flash unroot rom - phone was dead. Now I waiting for the phone , when they will return me from a service. So I think the problem is on kernel, not ROM.
Thanks for the replies.
I formated my card but the only rom that seems to be working for me is Leedroids, nandroid restore is still not working with other backups i saved on my PC.

Hello, I have successfully rooted my HTC Desire running android 2.2 with HBOOT V 0.93.0001 using the Unrevoked method. I Installed ROM Manager and installed ClockWorkMod V 2.5.0.7. I also made a backup.
The purpose was to install a custom ROM, in order to get rid of the Orange bloatware that is on the phone, as well as trying something new.
However whenever I try to instal any ROMS I get an error (Status 7 - installation aborted.)
I then updated the Radio to radio 5.10.05.30 and tried again, same error.
I've tried Cyanogenmod 7, as well as the Oxygen ROM and both aren't working.
I have spent most of today trying to get it to work, and googled alot however I just can't fix this error
Thanks.
you have to do a full wipe data and cache then go to advanced and erase dalvik cache. After all the above you can now install new rom. And if your trying to install new gingerbread you must s off your phone and then update the recovery to the latest one. which i believe is 3.2.0.2 i dunno something like that
When I do a factory reset it just says E: Can't find MISC
No app2sd partition found.
E:cant mount cache:recovery/log
etc etc
says the same thing with wiping the cache, although it does say "cache wipe complete"
when I select wipe Dalvik cache the screen just flickers and appears to do nothing...
What do you mean about updating the recovery, you mean the HBOOT?
Why can nobody answer this? I've literally been reading stuff ALL DAY just to fix this error, yet still can't solve the problem.
Didn't think installing a ROM could be so hard....
I get it you need to back everything up onto your pc from your sd card then go to market on your phone download rom manager and partition your sd with 512mb ext and 0mb swap. and then install any rom u like
Thanks for your help but that didn't work. Not sure what to do.
Which hardwarerevision does your desire have (boot into hboot and read the first line, number behind the word pvt)?
"bravo pvt4 shop s-on"
Just did a hard factory reset, installed ROM Manager and tried again, still didn't work
Also just tried to get my backup restored in the meantime (so I have contacts) oh no, "This does not seem to be a valid backup. The MD5 file is missing"
Can anything else possibly go wrong?
So your hardwarerevision is pvt4. You cannot use clockworkmod recovery and still less rom manager with this one. Download amonra recovery, integrate it in unrevoked (file>custom recovery>choose downloaded amonra recovery) and run unrevoked (like last time) again.
No warranty for any damage.
And a real good advice: Never use rom manager, it's a horrible software which mostly causes heavy and horrible problems!!! Run all operations directly in recovery instead.
Trying that now

Are there known issues with revision pvt 4 and ROM manager/ClockWorkMod?
Did just what you said and it's working perfect, I performed a Nandroid backup so I can always go back to the stock ROM, I also unchecked unrevoked forever so the warrenty should be okay IF I go back?
Thanks so much!!!!

Yes, there are known issues, especially the one you had, which is imho the most important and worst one, because you cannot flash anything.
This disclaimer was referred to me. But yeah, warranty of your provider should be okay if going back to stock.
No problem, happy I could help. Congratulations to you.

Hi there. This might be a bit late but I think I finally find out hot to solve it. It is all because you haven't S-Off your mobile.
so m not goin to get a solution over this,.,.
Hello all!
Yesterday I decided I wanted to try the latest RCMix ROM (v2.2b). Usually I do the update from ROM Manager, but it informed me there was a new version to download so I downloaded it.
Anyway, I proceeded with it and installed the ROM and everything went fine, until it rebooted, which it then just hung on the s-off boot screen. I waited for an hour but to no avail so had to take out the battery.
So, I tried to do it again manually by doing a factory wipe/clear cache/clear dalvik cache and flashed again, but again, same thing happened even though it said it had installed ok. I tried doing this 5 times before I gave up (although leaving 20 minutes on the boot screen before giving up each time)
Next I decided that maybe it was the new version of the ROM, so I downloaded the v2.1 of it, but still got the same problem, so then I decided to try my original one (v2.0) because it worked fine previously, but this also didn't work!
Finally, I decided I best try a different ROM altogether, so I tried the LeeDroid ROM (which I've used in the past, albeit a previous version), but this also has the same problem.
So, I'm a bit stuck what to do, hence why I've had to post on here. I've read that the latest clockworkmod recovery has some issues, does this still apply? Could this be the cause of my problem? I've tried finding a previous version of clockworkmod to install via sd card to test it out, but had no luck finding one.
Does anyone else have any suggestions on what I can do? Please bare in mind that I'm not very good with all the technical side of this so please try keep it as simple as possible for me!
My phone recovery says the following:
AlphaRev CM7 r2
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.10.05.23

Thanks in advance for your help

I'm going to remember this for the future!
After me being impatient (you'll probably be disheartened to hear) I've decided to go the stock way to try get me back to the beginning. After a lot of messing around (reformatting sd-card and placing files on it via a laptop which had the files put on there via USB flash drive!) I think I've managed to get it down to stock again. The bootloader screen thingy says:
BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.75.0000
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-4.05.00.11
and when I try select the RECOVERY option it just displays the red triangle (I believe this is because it's not rooted or something (can't currently remember how got it working last time)?)
The problem now though is I would have though I should be able to boot normally now? What happens is when I press the power button it just goes straight into the bootlader screen.
At the triangle, you press vol UP + Power to get to stock recovery. Cant do much there but factory reset though.
did you fastboot flash the downgrader.img from Alpharev before running the RUU?

That error always comes up on stock recovery I think. It always did for me anyway.
I'd be tempted to factory reset then run an RUU again.

I've just tried the following RUU after doing a factory reset:
RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865
However when going through the instructions it said that my current image is:
2.29.405.5
I proceeded anyway by pressing Update, and it ended up with the following error:
ERROR[140]: BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR
From what I've quickly googled, it sounds like I got that error because the RUU I was trying to install was less than the one currently installed? If so then how can I get one that is newer as I can't see any newer ones than that!
EDIT: I'll try using the one you suggested again

Hi
i couldnt find an answer so am posting this thread.
i have just updated my hboot to alpharev cmr2. i then did a data wipe and then installed the runnymede 3.0.5 from clockwork mod. I chose to use apps2sd+ rather than xsd+
The issue that I have is that when I'm using the phone i keep getting '
'the process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly'
Can someone advise where I've gone wrong?
Thanks in advance
manny
Maybe this helps : go back into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache > reboot.

If you are on cm7r2 Hboot, select XD2SDX script during install. Reflash ROM after full wipe and see what happens.
Hope this helps.
i have same problem too..
on first opening my phone android process error giving.
but after second reboot that error doesn't give again but you will have extra problem with this way. when you open your market and upgrade your apss you will get same error on facebook twitter or etc...
i tried several ways but theese are don't work. (reflash, wipe etc...)
i haven't solved my problem yet. i am on researching, please write if you find answer. i will write too if i find answer.
I may be being silly but I cant find the option to disable the fast boot under settings > applications or manage applications
I rebooted via rom manager into recovery and chose to wipe cache partition
Rebooted the phone and I'm still getting the issue (slightly less often than before)
So is the only option left to reflash the rom?
reflash rom will not solve your problem. because it didn't solve of mine.
ok this is what i found.
I left the hboot as it is from the recent update - alpharev cmr2.
I had a backup image of miui rom on another sd card which i smaller (8gb) and i believe formatted to ext2 using the rom manager.
I did a restore of this miui rom and all appears to be fine - no force close messages. I then took the 8gb sd card out and replaced it with the new 16gb sd card which i believe should be partitioned as ext4 (i used gparted). When I've started the phone using this card, it comes up with the force close errors.
Now this is the same card i was using when flashing runnymede.
Does anyone think its an issue with the memory card?
Thanks
Manny

First: DO NOT USE ROM MANAGER! It's a horrible software which causes more problems than it solves.
Second: To wipe dalvik-cache you have to use the extra option in recovery. This cache is not stored in /cache partition. So your dalvik-cache is still "unwiped". After wiping it your FCs should be away.
edit: it has fixed it self after a failed radio flash.
i cant explain it, but thanks for you suggestions

it hangs part way through, left it for 30 minutes at 31.38% using 4EXT recovery
Leave the battery out for a while, then replace. Put it on AC power. Same thing happen

surprise!
well im not sure why but it let me flash the rom again, which is strange as it had just hung during a radio flash but then started to work properly again instead of expected worsening.
thanks

Anyway to unbrick from 4ext?
First up, Does it boot with the SD Card removed?
(if not doing something tricky like Data2Ext or Dalvik relocation etc)
If it does, then start fresh, the key is to format your SD Card.
1. Format your SD Card, Partition Split and then copy on a ROM.
2. Factory Reset
3. Wipe the Dalvik Cache
4. Reinstall ROM of your choice
