[Q] OTA Lock Screen - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to get that awesome lock screen with the widgets on the OTA rom? Those sense rome are nice but so heavy, but I love the lock screen.

I thought there was an app in the Market that was the ring style lock screen, don't remember its name though...

naw. you would have to rip apart the framework-res.apk and figure out what is used in there to create the lock screen then integrate it to your framework.

Looking for a lock screen replacement.

I'm currently using livelocker but find it to be a bit linear and plane. Can anyone suggest a good versatile alternative.

haven't found anything much more versatile than widgetlocker. it is a paid app, though.

miui lockscreens are pretty slick, but that isn't a "lockscreen replacement" - that's a rom replacement... not what op is looking for.
google ripple lock, it's the lockscreen from android 3.0
And... is it possible to remove the lock screen?

CyanogenMod has that feature built-in but if you aren't running it then WidgetLocker has it as well.

Trouble with unlock screen

Had this phone for Two days now and LOVE it. Way better then evo 3d I had. Only issue I have is I struggle to unlock it every time. Maybe the size maybe the touchwiz screen. Either way it makes me crazy. Anyone make a suggestion of a different lock screen that is stable and won't mess up the excellent battery life.
Btw I have no interest in rooting but don't mind buying an app if needed. Also I have no issue with other parts of touchwiz just the lock screen.
I use widget locker. You can set that up any way you'd like. I have the stock aosp lock screen. Does wonders.

Widget locker allows you to customize the lockscreen with a ot of different options. So the AOSP lockscreen is when you slide the icon across to unlock you phone. It is Androids stock lock screen that ships with Android if Samsung or HTC wouldn't add their own.
Agile lock is pretty good too. It gives you a lockscreen similar to sense 3.0

I replaced my stock lock screen with widget locker and haven't experienced any problems (including battery life). It could be that people using widget locker are placing battery intensive widgets on their lockscreen.
Yeah I haven't had any problems with battery life or any slow downs either. This phone handles the battery and speed well. You can set it up however you like, the possibilities are endless. You can even download themes. I just like it so much because I don't have to use the original lock screen for our phone.

Thanks again! I downloaded and have been playing with widget locker and love it so far. Only question I have is ... Is there some way to get rid of the icon in the notification bar that shows widget locker ongoing. I keep thinking there is something I have not checked and it kinda bothers me. Tried to find a setting to get rid if it but no luck. Thanks again

App to No lockscreen??

Anyone know of a good no lockscreen app that really works at all times? I tried using the no lock by BoD in market but doesn't work all the time. It worked good on my G2, G2x it was working good either... Now with sgs2 either.. And also, doesn't touchwiz suppose to have the puzzle unlock, or is that other version or carrier version or overall a different lockscreen?

Go Locker.
Might as well install GoSMS and Go Launcher too while your at it.
Touchwiz does have puzzle lock. Go to Locations and Security in the Settings -> Change screen lock.
Haha yes I agree install Go launcher as well
I meant, the puzzle as to actual puzzles being put together to unlock.. Not the connect a dot

You can see in this video the puzzle unlock, I thought touchwiz had it..

That video is the Galaxy S not S2.
The S2 only comes with either dots or keypad.
Buy it's regular lockscreen, no password or pin needed, either way I thought it came with touchwiz.. Because the simple lockscreen they made sucks. Looks like sheet of paper to slide off and unlock and I do not want to use 3rd party app

Hi,
You can disable the lock screen without any app if edit this file /efs/imei/keystr with HexEditor. open the file and there is vales 4f and 4e that gives you the ON just change the 4e to 46 that will make it OF. save the file and reboot. that will disable the lock screen.
samsung needs to release a patch to address the lockscreen disappearing bug. It is too easy to bypass the lockscreen pin or pattern draw. I want to get this phone but might try to hold off until this is addressed.

I use a replacement lock screen app called widget locker. As someone who hates the stock lock screen I can't recommend it highly enough.

I worked around it using the ICS theme. That cleaned it up. Very nice theme by the way. That black font over the white date was pretty ugly.

Actually I own W.L. but removed it a while back. Some of these apps make a simple thing into a complex operation. It just had too many options to keep track of.

Holo locker

I am not affiliated with this app at all. I'm just sharing.
I'm currently running MROM with holo launcher and this app, holo locker. It's an AOSP jellybean lockscreen, and it runs pretty well. For those who are still using GB, this is a great way to make your phone look and feel up to date. Enjoy.

Runs very smoothly, does yours have delay where it shows the homescreen for a brief moment before the lockscreen appears?
Not all the time.

Frustrated with bot Holo and Go Lockers. It seems like at first they work fine (maybe not, this might happen from the begining), but then the OEM/AOSP lockscreen starts showing up before the Holo/Go lockscreen. I've uninstalled both until I find out how to fix that. Send emails, but haven't got any replies yet.

What rom are you on right now, and can I assume you set the lockscreen security to none in the rom before applying your custom lockscreen?

I was on CM7 and don't remember ever seeing a way to turn off the lock screen altogether.
Now I'm on miui and using magic locker, working fine.
I think it may have something to do with choosing the locker as the " default launcher"
The magic locket makes it apparent that you need to do that for it work properly.
