HTC Hub Update . DLNA works - Windows Phone 7 General

I have and HD7 and have until now not been able to install or run DLNA.
After the Hub update which just appeared its now workin

its been working for me since shortly after the official release of mango.

it only streams music (MP3) to my Sony Blueray Player (BDV-E370). If i try Photos or videos, it fails. in the statusline it displays, that my player doesnt support this filetypes. But i i know that th eplayer can use JPG Files. Dows anyone knows a workaround?

DLNA doesn't depend on HTC Hub.

I found once I updates my drivers through Zune it then worked perfect.

I have been running one of the leaked HTC Roms, not seen any update appear but should I be seeing one (european version)

same here, unable to install previously, now it can..

Can this DLNA app be installed on unlocked (dev unlocked) Samsung Focus v 1.3? If so, where to find this app? I can't find it in marketplace/xap.

DLNA setting

Hi there, I have tried to share my files in the DHD with PC using DLNA with Windows media player and there was no problem to see PC files in DHD., but can't see any from DHD on Media player... any ideas why DLNA works only one way? Thanks... (same with Nero mediahome too)..

skifta Best DLNA server/client app that i have found for andrioid devices.
Ive been using Twonky since I upgraded my TV, use it on my LAN from PC and it works fine on on phone too
Never heard of Skifta though, will have to give it a try
..tried skifta too,but still...cant find player..again,can only operated with files from PC,watch them on the phone, can watch anything from phone on PC,WMP dont react..

[Q] Playing AVI files over dlna...is it possible?

I have an unrooted HTC Desire locked to Virgin running 2.22.351.3.
I use Twonkey server on my laptop and Skifta or Imediashare on my phone.
What I would like to do is play avi files stored on my Desire over my dlna network onto my tv. But I understand I cant do this as the Desire does not natively support avi's, so the dlna software doesnt see the avi files. (something to do with "Android registry" not being set to deal with avi's). MP4's work fine as does music and mpegs.
My backup LG GT540 does work ok, as it natively supports avi's. Very frustrating!
Now, I love my Desire, so, before I go and buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 (which will work, apparently), is there ANY way to get avi's to work over dlna. (P.S. I dont want to convert the videos)
Many thanks in advance.
Apparently I need to update the Android Media Database so Skifta or Imediasearch will "see" the avi files.
Anyone know how this can be done? Is it as easy as an app?

XviD support?

I've read over and over how WP does indeed support divx/xvid, but I can never get Zune software to actually recognize it.
Anyone have any luck with this?
Id like to see that too
www.zunescene.com/zune-divx
This gets Zune to load the files....
I currently have 3 movies on my phone that are xvid and my daughter has about 10 on her Zune player. I haven't installed anything special in order to install them I just added to the device of my choice and waited for the transfer. It may be converting them but it is doing it with out an 'add-on'
Is it possible to read subtitles also?

it will be nice. "My Home Server" application does play some of my xVids and not all though. Not sure what encoding is on those.

[ISSUE] HOX not seeing video files provided by media servers (DLNA)

I rarely start any threads as I usually can find answers on my own.. but so far no luck in this case.
I used to use a Linksys WRT160NL as my media server to store and provide videos which worked great with my Motorola DEFY, Samsung Galaxy SLC, and recently HTC Desire S (ICS).
Now I got the HOX and to my surprise this quad core champ has an issue - it does not recognize any video files on the media server.
I also have my Windows 7 PC set up to stream media (Windows Media Player) and those videos are seen and played by One X just fine.
So I thought that since Windows 7 is OK and Linksys is not, then I should check another router. And so I did.
I got a pretty powerful Netgear WNDR3700 and set up a media server over there - but it's the same thing again.
All other Android devices (and the PC) can see all streamed content but not the HTC One X (only music and pictures are visible).
At the moment I'm running the ARHD 9.1.0 but I noticed the problem with SW 1.29 and later stock 2.17.
3rd party apps can read the media server fine - just not the stock application (Gallery).
Please post if you have similar observations - perhaps we can find a solution or pass it to HTC.

Mike.
Windows media player transcode your videos. Your router can't. Use right video format.

OK... and in such a case how do you explain that my Desire S on "stock" ICS 4.0.4 and DEFY (2.3.6) have no problems playing video streams from the same router?

But you're not using stock on ONE X are you?
Maybe it's a ROM issue?
Try going back to stock on ONE X first.
Personally I'm using BubbleuPNP on my HOX, and it's streaming (incoming) everything I can throw at it, video included.
Try putting a mp4 file in the shared folders.

Hi,
I have the same issue on a HTC One S (S4 - Stock Firmware 1.78.401.2) playing from a Buffalo Linkstation so I presume it's incompatibility. I can play the files locally (on the device) and I've checked that they are of a standard type. These files stream using DLNA to other devices without any problems (PS3 / Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1). I was also going to buy another DLNA server as I though this was at fault at first.
As you have found it works fine from Windows Media Centre without problems. It will display photos and play MP3 over DLNA and I can browse directories. If I can find anymore info I'll post here.
Crossman.
I have the same issue. I suspect it has a problem using anything but the default Window Media Streaming port. I am running serviio, and same issue with HTC One X. LG Home Theater can see and play the files just fine.
Update: The following makes it work however: BubbleUPnP. Used it with MXPlayer Pro. And with Serviio, it plays anything, unlike the crippled Windows Media Services

Sorry for the bump, but the stock app is still a no go for me. I can try to fix this (I've done several mods to stock apps in the past) if you could elaborate a bit more about the issue you are guessing.
Thanks.

Hi,
is there any chance to make the MediaLink HD working with other android devices different to HTC.
On my Vista-PC I can see the WiFi-Network of the MediaLink but I can't log in (don't know the Password). The default should be 1234567890 or 1234567890HTC but both are not working.
Thanks

The password you can find using an HTC phone. On my One X it was under the Media Link settings. I don't know how to get it from a non-HTC phone, but maybe try to invite someone with an HTC phone over to your place once, it might solve the problem lol.
Thanks
