[Q] Miui variant with good SD write speed - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
Is there a Miui build that has a fast SD read/write speeds ?
In the most recent builds SD speed is ****.
I know that it's a kernel problem.
Do you know of custom miui builds that use a different kernel to solve that problem ?
I have tried the builds from http://miui.us/ and http://miuiandroid.com/
I have found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226893
but seems to be just for the HTC desire HD
Help! This problem has rendered my SD card almost useless.
I love miui .. but without SD it's crippled.
Thanks

less of the bad language haha
anyway onto your problem, when was the last time you formatted your sd card?

I formatted my SD card twice since I started to experiment with Miui.
Also note that with the same SD card I don't have this problem with the stock HTC rom based on android 2.3.4
I only have this problem with android 2.3.5 builds

This is the best answer I found, but it doesn't offer any solution.
If you browse a little you should find the answer asap. There is a bug which develop team don't have time to fix, where slow transfer sppeds via usb is persistent. If you go through safe reboot, and mount as usb drive,it will dissapear.
So, I hope developteamwill find a time to fix it.

Does anyone have a solution that actually works ?

What about MIUI XJ:

[Q] HTC Desire to Rhodium

If the desire runs Android on internal memory then wouldnt that be a good base to build an android rom that would replace the WinMo Rom that we currently use? i'm not a big fan of having to run it from a memory card. I know i'll probably get flammed for this but i tried searching for this already and came up with nothing directly related.
Just because one phone does something doesn't mean another phone can do the same.
But to somewhat answer your question, I remember alooong while back that someone said that it would actually run alittle slower if it was internal instead from the sd card.
I also remember nrg once made a super bare bones rom for android that has absolutley nothing but basically the interface. No apps and stuff.
NAND flashing is already being tested. As of this morning it more or less has everything the haret version has... along with better volume control.

does it bother you having to load it from sd? i mean, seeing how far along weve come with this, i would think it being on the sd card for the moment wouldnt really be too much of an imminent issue.
but i wouldnt be suprised if it happened in a few weeks o\r so heh

[HELP] My SD card can't load in Blackout ICS Incredible 3.0

Hi, first of all, sorry for my bad english.
So, here is my problem : I flashed the ROM "Blackout ICS Incredible v3.0" yesterday, everything works good except that each time I insert my SD Card (8Go), it says "the card was unexpectedly removed". I've already tried using another SD Card (2Go), but it has the same result. I tried to reboot my phone in hope it will work, but nothing. I don't know if it is the SD cards or the ROM ?? Could someone help please ? Thank you in advance for your help.
Same here only it won't mount on the ROM. I tested it with my tablet and its fine
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium HD app
I get the same issue on all ICS roms?????and on JB rom it works fine
i also had a spot of bother installing that one for a test ...................
solution - wipe everything sd, dalvic, system etc all of it, then put rom on sd/card and reinstall, dont let aroma restart just select no and the do it via recovery.

MIUI v5 ROM on ATT Galaxy note 2 (i317)

Hello,
I have installed MIUI v5 ROM form the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 forum.
All went well after installation except that MIUI can't recognize my 64GB external SD card. That SD card is good because when I reverted to the older version of MIUI (3.1.25) it recognize the SD card. I have emailed the developer several times about this issue but he has not yet responded.
I also reflashed the ROM but get the same result, cant access the external SD card.
How can I fix this issue, any ideas?
Thank you.......
Why would you ask this here?!

I figured it out. I formatted the SD card from the phone but that did not make a difference, MIUI v5 still did not see the SD. So I use windows 7 and an application I downloaded from Cnet to do the FAT32 formatting. After formatting to FAT32, MIUI v5 see the SD card.
Does everything else work well in the ROM with the At&t model?

The only issues I have so far with the MIUI v5 ROM is that it locked up on me about three times, which I could not recreat, it happened randumly. I also get the message to insert my SIM card unlock code. I hit dismiss and the notice goes away, but comes back at randum (not too often). I also can't get attachments in my messages, but I can receive plain text messages. Otherwise the ROM is great.

I don't know about swapping but in settings, storage, make more space, you can move stuff to SDCard.

Yeah, but don't want to disturb em' with pm.
So hoping some one is able to reply t to this thread with a solution. I'm open to try most things...as I've seen other brands running 4.4.2 with this kind of mod.
And I'm sure many of you out there is also interested in this as it bumps the internal memory from 16 Gb up to 128 Gb.
Any luck?
No nobody seems to know how to for the one with KitKat
I've also interested to expand internal memory.

[Q] Is my SD card slot fried? Please help!!

Hi Guys,
I'm on Temasek's CM11, been using this Sony 64GB microSD card for over a year, and today, randomly while the phone was in use, I saw a message pop up, SD card unexpectedly unmounted. After that, it's not using up in the file systems, all the way down to the Recovery. I'm using TWRP.
I put the SD card in another Note 3 I have and everything seems to be fine on there, all the data is here.
So just posting here to make sure that is it safe to conclude that my SD card slot is fried?
And if so... What are my options... I have had the Note 3 for over a year and brought it off of Craigslist. It's unlocked and use it on AT&T...
So any ideas or advice friends? And yes, I pressed the SD card firmly in my Note 3 many times...
Thank you!
Anyone guys?
have you tried a different sd card? Also is your phone rooted if so try to access it in recovery. if so then something in the system messed up and a restart of your phone could fix it or a new rom. good luck hope it's not fried :-\

Thanks bud for your response! Yes, another sd doesn't show up in the phone, but works in another phone. And no, Recovery does not pick it up either .
Looking to move to another ROM, want to try Android 5.0, but really want to make sure I can come back to KK if I want to. The fact that sd is not showing up in recovery is really discouraging, but also, there are no signs of sd card slot being fried either like a smell or anything.
Please keep responding folks, if you have any ideas! Thank you!
Your using CM11 killed the sdcard slot in your Note 3. No use crying after spilled milk. Stick to stock rom next time.
