For the second time I have received an odd "One Call Missed" notification. It has a green plus sign next to it. My call log shows no missed calls on both occasions that I've received this notification. Here is a screen capture. Can anyone clue me in as to what this is?

I've had the same mystery notification twice now too. Although I'm using an LG p500 with a CM7 rom, so I'm wondering if it's something in the rom? Weird.
Looks like the ads that I get when I had the free version of the iphone keyboard. The icon is identical.
Makes me wonder if it's from one of the apps I'm using.. like a form of ad-ware etc. I only started getting it recently, and I've got a few new apps. Only thing is, they are full version paid apps.
My EVO is fully S-Off rooted.. running the latest stock rom and kernel with the latest radios. I don't think it has anything to do with root, rom, etc. I'm thinking it's app related.. whatever it is.
Try AirPush Detector to locate the app causing this.
Thanks for the suggestion einarki. I went and grabbed AirPush Detector and ran it. It's showing one app. It's an app I've had for some time now tho, so I'm not convinced it's the culprit considering this mystery notification first appeared maybe a week ago. I've had the app it detected for months.
Culprit - Root App Remover
I had the same notification and after installing the Airpush Detector it located an app called "Root App Remover". Once I uninstalled this app it removed the notification that was in my notification bar. Very helpful, thanks!

I'll second this. It's a useful app though so I just froze it with App Quarantine
This was really beggining to annoy me.
I thought it was Google voice or such,
now I know it's RAR lurking.
FROZEN & Droidwalled.
Thanks to all the posters.

But all my services are working, gmail, play, gtalk, plus and everything is syncing.
What could be causing it? Getting the triangle notification drop down saying sign in error and my pw is incorrect (but it is correct) and I don't know what app because it is not saying what app.
Just started happening after the numerous app updates from yesterday/today.
I'm getting the same thing, I think they had a bug in their release.
I'm seeing the same thing after taking updates this afternoon.
Stock HTC EVO 3D on Sprint.
It went away when I restarted my phone yesterday but came back today I wonder what app is causing it

I thought was google+ too, but after uninstall it and reboot, after a couple of hours, same error...it's something with g-apps in general.

I have a XPeria Play
Great I am not alone. For example see one there I was wondering if I had my Gmail account hacked and password changed. But like you all, all of my accounts synced. Still don't know what it is but it started today after I opened the play store.

I would say delete Gmail.... Download from market and see if it helps.

Same issue here. I had it one other time, yesterday I think, rebooted my phone and thought it was taken care of. Today it's suddenly back again.
Somewhat a relief to realize I'm not the only one.
BTW, I'm using a AT&T Skyrocket...found this thread through search.
Well its not Google+, I have it uninstalled and got the error today, but I don't get the error as often with it installed.
I just restored an EL29 Android and fired up the stock browser to do a Google search since I set Google.com as my homepage. It got changed to a different site that looked similar to Google but wasn't.

I just downloaded an antivirus app, I might do a second one just to make sure, and will run it once I finish with this post. I will Google the site to see if anyone else experienced this. I've never seen this before.
Edit: Ran Google search and some people were saying they got it from brightest flashlight. I did dl it and run it to see if I had and screen burn in (I did :-( ). I had already uninstalled the program before running the browser. At the bottom of the dev's page on g play, it said the app adds a search shortcut to your home screen and changes your default browser homepage. I couldn't recreate this behavior. If this is/was true, this is very uncool of the dev company. I didn't see it in the bottom of the description in the play market because there was a lot of text there. Reading the user agreement was kind of counter productive. What I mean is when you run the app for the first time, it turns on the camera led and brings up the EULA. You can't read it and turn off the led. So, read the EULA but shorten the lifespan of your camera led. Nice. I font know if that was the guilty app for me either. Scan turned up nothing but something inside the autoroot.zip file I downloaded and have on the card. Something about elf:looter-h (pub).
Happened to me before but i caught really fast too ...i think it has to do with those wierd third party apps you manually install ...some can be screwy man!

U have malware....search airpush in the market and it will show u an app that will detect what is on ur phone causing the issue.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Ran airpush detector and it found nothing. Addons detector found lots but they were from legitimate apps. I'm not running any warez either. Slideme.org has gave me crap before from one of their apps offered. I forgot what it was.
That sucks. Guess u never know what's being downloaded and how many employees leave good reviews for an app. Best bet is only DL stuff from devs that have several apps with good reviews, like teslacoil.

I'm using Calengoo and syncing with Google Calendar. I was getting two audio notifications when it's time for a notification to go off. I've frozen the built in calendar function with Titanium Backup and that solved the double notification sound problem. Am I likely to see any problems after doing this? Are there any functions etc. that depend on the default calendar app?
Thanks for any info on this.
Can I ask why you didn't just go into the Calendar settings and turn off notifications?

On Stock ICS 4.0.4, I cannot even find my original calendar. I may have deleted it entirely. I use CalenGoo as well. But with TiB, you cannot freeze "Calendar Storage" or your dates will disappear. Other than that, you should be good.

I just unfroze it and turned off notifications so thanks for the suggestion. When I add an app that replaces a stock app (using Calengoo instead of stock Calendar in this case) I like to "get rid" of the original app if possible. I don't know that there's any kind of savings in memory or cpu cycles, but to me it's like taking the un-used china and putting it into a closet rather than wasting space in the kitchen for something I'm not using. Also it doesn't show up and get selected by accident. But there's always that chance that something else in the system depends on it so I posted my original question. I can say that while it was frozen, nothing else seemed to be affected. However, like a later poster in this thread, I did find that freezing calendar storage caused problems.
I tend to freeze any apps that do not need to be available to reduce ram consumption especially if the app is preloaded into ram at boot time. Also, this will speed up the boot process as well. Keeps my app drawer less congested too.
This icon has shown up recently in my notification bar and will not go away. I am struggling to find what app it is for. Any ideas?

Nothing new has been installed.
I was thinking since its showed up recently there was probable an app installed recently as well, since not.. did you maybe change any of the developer settings lately?
I'm guessing there is no additional info in the notif bar, right? cause if so, you can hold it down and select "app info" and then uncheck the "notifications tickbox". That works on any app that gives notifications you don't want, or if an app requires a persistent notification to function properly but you don't want to see the icon all the time.

You are correct. When I pull down the notification bar, there is no additional information for this icon (nor is the icon shown). I have not made any changes to my settings (that I am aware of) nor have I done anything in the developers settings...which is why this icon is throwing me for a loop.
Hmm. I cant think of anything else either, if something does come to me I will let you know. Hopefully someone else does know what that icon is for.
Mystery Solved....
Apparently my Notification Toggle App changed icons. I hate when that happens.
Hi,
I use the standard alarm on my Galaxy S3 to wake me up in the morning.
When it goes off I usually just press a button on the side to turn it off. Since a few days, after I've done this there is a notification in the top bar, and a message when I swipe it down. (see screenshot below ) The message reads (mine is in Dutch): "Alarm - You can stop alarms or put them in hiberna.." where I suppose the rest would be "...te by going into settings.." or something.
The annoying thing is this message is a permanent notification and it isn't possible to swipe the message away or I haven't found a way to turn it off. The only way is to reboot the device. Not too much trouble, but kinda trivial to have to do this every day just to get rid of a notification
The phone just recently started doing this, so I'm guessing it came in with a recent update or something.
Any help would be appreciated!
Dries

Long press the notification, then press App Info. Uncheck the Show Notifications box.

Thank you for the reply!
It won't let me uncheck the box, but you did gave me a way to get rid of the notification; as I can "force close" the app. I then have to remember to start it back up, otherwise I won't wake up on time the next day
If there's any more help, I'd be glad to hear it!
I honestly think the best solution is to find a better app. I'd recommend Alarm Clock Plus. There's a free version you can try.

I just installed it. Thanks for the help!
I've never seen this one before.
I would clear data for it and see if it continues, but it looks like you installed another alarm app. I personally am using Timely now. I like the compatibility between TW and AOSP ROMs, the syncing feature, etc.
I would freeze the stock clock app if you're not using it anymore. Wakelocks you don't need.
