[Q] SLCD Desire unbranded Froyo Europe RUU - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So then, I'm trying to find the correct RUU file for my unbranded SLCD Desire (currently rooted with the Gingerbread hboot). Would like to go back to Froyo as I'm selling my phone and I think Froyo is more stable than the HTC Gingerbread update.
I updated to Gingerbread when the update came out and before that I hadn't checked the baseband version (should've done that, I know now). However at the moment the baseband is this: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
So what is the most current Froyo RUU for an unbranded SLCD Desire? I live in Finland so the RUU should have a Finnish language option (Does a WWE RUU have this or should it be an european RUU?) Is this okay for example: RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe ?
Oh and I'm running InsertCoin ROM atm.
Thanks a lot!

As far as I know, WWE RUU supports finish language.
But to go back from Gingerbread to Froyo, you cannot just flash ruu. You have to do some special things. A guide for this can be found here on xda.
SwiftKeyed from dGB using Transparent XDA App

By "some special things" do you mean downgrading the hboot?
If that's the case, is this guide okay?
Also, is there something else that needs to be done before using the RUU (aside from flashing the bravo downgrade)?
Or can I just flash the bravo downgrade and then the Froyo RUU?

Anyone?
/10char

yes, only flash the bravo downgrader hboot by alpharev, then run the froyo ruu 2.29.405.5 (even the one 2.29.405.2 u said its ok)

Alright, thanks a lot!

Bumping this. Is there any Froyo Europe RUU? Because I need to return my Desire but in Froyo WWE RUU there isn't Croatian language.

Just use the 2.3.3 RUU. HTC will accept it. Check bortak's guide for furhter information.

[Q] Help downgrading HBOOT from 0.83 to 0.80

I have a branded (UK) Vodafone Desire that I loaded a stock Froyo ROM onto, now I need to get back to the branded Vodafone image (so I can return it for repair)
I have been trying to do this with the correct (Vodafone UK) RUU listed on thread 695667, but I keep getting a ERROR 140 : BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
I'm guessing this was because the HBOOT was 0.93, so I then successfully downgraded to Android 2.1 taking HBOOT back from 0.93 to 0.83 using the details in thread 768256.
My HBOOT is now 0.83 but the RUU still fails - same ERROR 140 : BOOTLOADER VERSION ERROR.
So, is there a way to downgrade my HBOOT to 0.8 again (hoping that the RUU will work correctly with that version) ??
Or is there a way to extract the ROM image from the RUU exe and apply it using another method. ??
Thanks .. Ken
The problem is not HBOOT. Run the downgrade utility again, but -don't- install the downgrade in the bootloader (as described in the post), just select no, and then you can install the Vodafone RUU.
That worked a treat - thanks teppic74 !!

[SOLVED] Unable to Unroot Error 140

I'm getting the 140 Error when trying to flash
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe.
Also tried some other RUUs, without success.
Need to unroot my phone, since it Restarts randomly and needs the board replaced.
Please someone help!
Having a generic (not branded) Desire, ROOT, latest LeeDroid ROM,
BRAVO PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 0.80
AMOLED
5.09.05.30_2 Radio
SD Card Working
Access to SD via USB working.
One day I was trying to S-OFF this phone, but all I got was the ugly Joker splash screen, can this be the problem?
This phone has been rooted-unrooted-rerooted before without problems!
Thanks!!
Why not get the 2.10.405.2 or 2.29.405.2 RUUs? If they don't work either it might be because you have a branded handset

where are these RUUs hosted? Didn't find any direct links here on xda. EDIT:Found your thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=828519
And why aren't they in this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
will try out and report.
the phone is for sure not branded, was preordere on amazon.de back in the good ol' days and is running Lee's ROM.

Check your build number, from there you can see if your phone is branded or not.
BTW: have you wiped everything during rom flashing?
for example,
I have (originally) : 1.19.161.5, and that is a vodafone UK branding.
I have to use : RUU_Bravo_Vodafone_UK_1.19.161.5_Radio_32.36.00.28 U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126338_signed.exe

Why not use the 2.33.161.2 RUU in ROM Development?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853937
SOLVED
SOLVED:
Thanks a lot Guys, that was easyier as I thought and saved me a lot of nerves.
I simply flashed 2.29.405.2 RUU and everything was fine!
I just dont unterstand why the stiky thread in the Development section is not being updated with these RUUs. It would have saved me many hours!
Because everyone goes to shipped-roms.com for their stock RUUs

No problem with that one.
If I am not mistaken :
It is just that the one you posted will update to Android 2.2 and H-Boot 0.93, while my post ís still 2.1 and H-Boot 0.80.
For comfort reason during rooting, I choose the 0.80.
But seeing as rooting on HBOOT 0.93 has NO issues at all it makes sense to use it

HTC RUU for HBOOT 0.930001

Hi all,
I'm looking for the original HTC RUU for HBOOT 0.930001 because with other RUU's I will get the error message 140 (wrong Bootloader).
Can anyone help me?
Good morning,
I got the same problem few weeks ago.
I suggest you to make first a downgrade to hboot 0.7x. After that there are no problems any more.
Why you want de root your phone? I had a problem with my mainboard. Now I have a brand new Amoled desire
If you need some links how to downgrade please write a pm.
;-)
So I have to downgrade the HBOOT to 0.7x! And there is no RUU for the 0.930001? :-(
It would be kind, if you could forward me the links via PM!
Many thanks in advance!
The RUU in my signature is HBOOT 0.93, it's the latest unbranded WWE RUU so unless you are using an unbranded Desire you'll need a gold card to flash it
Out of interest what RUUs have you tried?

Thank you Eddy! Had the same problem as conbey, and I have searched this and other forums for a solution for not getting any working RUU. But the one in your sign finally made it!
You saved my day!

[Q] Quick Question: I have S-Off and 2.50, can I install a custom ROM?

Hi,
Quick question hoping you can help with.
I have S-OFF (Previously Rooted) and recently installed the latest Gingerbread 2.50 WWE RUU (with a Goldcard).
Does the S-OFF mean I can install a customer ROM without having Root?
Is it possible to change the CID? I have a Vodafone UK CID so don't get OTA. (OK, its a second question! Couldn't resist!).
And Finally (really this is the final one!), I can't find instructions to revert my phone to original state, i.e. re-branded to Vodafone UK with S-ON for warranty. Can you point me in the right direction, please?
Thanks in advance...
Kiz
With s-off and goldcard already in hand, you may downgrade it to stock 2.36.405.8 to gingerbreak or simply 1.32.405.6 and then flash any custom rom that comes across your mind. Your cid can be changed it the Oneclick Radio Tool.
To return to stock vodafone branded rom, just read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920876&highlight=vodafone+original+img
If I'm not mistaken, S-On can be applied just as normal DHD should. Please do make reference to the stickies in Android Dev section.
