[Q] What is the best camera app (night mode + fast shatter)? - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

I'm looking for a camera app that will give me the best result of night mode with fast shutter.
what would you recommend?

Does any one know this kind of app?

Sorry Alex, the camera on the sgs is pretty crap really in all low light situations.
so without a flash and at night, I'm affraid you will never get a decent picture.
There are some pretty good camera apps available for gimmiky effects, but they all need good light levels.
buy a proper camera...

Camera TERRIBLE indoors?

Hi all,
Quick question about the quality of images on my HOX.
They are absolutely terrible, for a HOX, especially when one of their major selling points was the apparantly, amazing camera?
The quality of images out doors, is acceptable, but again for a camera such as the HOX I think they should be better.
But indoors, they are almost un-viewable they are that bad.
Im no camera expert, and don't know much about what to do to produce a good image.
Has anyone else experienced terrible HOX images?
Is their anything I can do to improve the quality of the images?
Thanks all !
In my experience indoor performance of the One X camera is as good if not better than other well regarded smart phones out there. I have personally compared indoor performance against the Galaxy S3 and the iPhone 4S; picture quality in most cases turned out to be better than 4S and on par with S3. However, having said that, don’t expect the quality of a DSLR or even a cheap point n shoot compact camera.
What exactly is the problem with your indoor photos? Are they too dark, noisy or blurry? When taking photos indoors try to hold the phone as stable as you can, because under low light conditions the shutter stays open longer to take in more light, this causes even the slightest movement to make your photo very blurry.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I compared with the S3, and the HOX looked like a disposable camera compared to the S3.
Indoors they look very pixlated and blurry as you said.
I hold it as steady as my hands allow me.
Im not sure what noise etc is.
Thanks for the reply mate, is there anything I can do to improve?

Same issue here on my gf's htc one x.
Blurry pictures. Setting iso to 800 manualy helps a bit but still not like my note 2.
And the low light setting I have been reading about is night setting I presume?
My note 2 has a low light setting and with it you make awesome pictures.
Doesn't work like this on one x.
Real shame because outdoor pictures are great.
If you advertise with it make it f***** work.
Focus is wierd to. Note 2 flashes long for focus then again short and adjusted during the shot.
The htc focusses in darkness then flashes and takes the shot.....no wonder they're out of focus.
Anyway we are not happy. Especially when we heard they don't take it back.
Now she's stuck with a crappy indoor phone camera for 2 years.
Htc better update on this issue quick

Same here, gutted.
Can't understand how they can advertise a man jumping out of a plane with it, and getting focused stunning shots, but yet us trying to take a picture of a dog in our bedrooms is not stable enough and comes out blurry.
Yet again, HTC successfully blags its consumer base.
Anything we can do?!

I called with htc customer service and they said if enough complaints come in that they'll update on the issue.
So report it and hope for the best
Edit: I had mine replaced with a galaxy s3.
Better flash, more functions ( that actualy work and do what they should do. )
Very sharp indoor pictures.
With flash is perfect but without and low light mode is perfect too.
I'm just gonna stick to samsung phones from now on.
Save myself the trouble of going through countless discussions with htc and customer service to replace a phone.

Better camera app?

Has anyone found a camera app that better utilizes the 13mp camera? It can take some pretty sharp shots but I'd love to find something a little better built.

People say Camera zoom fx is nice. Personally I want the 4.2 camera app ( not the pre release app, the one with the update). If anyone has an apk for it, please post it.

I've used zoomfx the difference between it and the stock camera app are stark. Check the topic on pictures with the 13 MP camera I started a few days back. I posted comparison shots of results between the two apps. It's not even close zoomfx is much better in low light settings, haven't played much with zoomfx with daytime shots, but in good lighting so far about the same I think, but again haven't really played with it much yet.

Thanks guys, I just tried it out and noticed a huge difference in the low light pictures. So much more detail was captured by zoomfx.

[Q] A better camera

Hello,
I dont like the quality of the pictures I take although I have set the quality to superfine. The pictures I take look a bit dark and I think that a phone with 8mp camera can take better pictures. Also, the pictures I take at night are not so good. Are there any tweaks or mods I can flash or even settings?
Waiting for your answers!

I found this guide really helpful. It's for the SGS3, but is good for the SGN2 too.
You may try turning on the "Low Light" shooting mode. Drastically improves brightness in low light situations without the usual graininess/noise.

Some questions about Z5

So, my question are basicly
Looking at the camera shutter and focus speed, like in G2 ,,Sport Mode'' is way darker, because the shutter and focus speed is way faster then normal mode.
Does it means, that in low light situation the Z5 Premium will be also dark and the only think to make clear and crispy night photos is to focus like 2-3 seconds to do a decent shot?
Manual settings
Looking at LG G4 the photos with manual focus are incredible, looking at todays technologies. So what about Z5 ? Will they support Camera2 Api? Will it be with manual mode to? Or just modes that Z5 will give it to us?
What you guys opinion about this phone? After Christmas I will look at new one, and this beast is in my eyes not as Number 1 .

Pre-note:
i dont own a Xperia Z5 Premium but i plan on getting my self one and till then ill be keeping my eye out on it for info
1. Sport mode will try to reduce ISO while keeping shutter speed fast but also slow enough to capture pictures, it may take a couple attempts to get a decent pic but be sure to take plenty in which case
(usualy in any phones case aka manual is good here)
1.2 not sure about focus time in low light, if the phone can see the target well enough then focusing should be as fast as day but if the target is hard to see it may take some time or even multiple tries
2. im not too sure but it does have most of the camera2 api which is only lacking raw support but this isnt too bad as an app like manual camera or open camera can take full control of the camera allowing the user to create somewhat DSLR like photos
- if that doesnt work out you can use some of the xda mods or cameras.
in my opinion after seeing what it has to offer its a extremly worth it device, its been noted to have one of the best phone cameras of 2015 and it also is way faster than any other xperia EVER which is showing a Nexus Esk experience in performance and it has a Snapdragon 810 without heating issues so its actually a extremely well worth device in my opinion
(excuse my poor grammar)

Camera/Photography thread - tips, apps, advice

Hi, guys,
I'm coming from an Xperia Z3C, which had a camera that was pretty bad. Even though some bash the XZ1C camera, it's a lot better than what I used.
I'm no photographer and I dont' know the apps, so I'd like everyone to share what they know and use.

Despite people putting down the stock camera, I find it does take good a picture, although using a small tripod gets the best results. This is far from idea for a phone, but just resting the phone on something solid dramtically imporves the picture.
The focusing seems to be better if you turn off 'object tracking' and although HDR is supposed to be automatic in the auto mode, I tend to shoot in manual with HDR enabled. The predictive capture is a good & useful tool. I wasn't sure when I first saw it introduced, but it does a burst shot when it gets triggered by a smile and dramtically increases your chances of getting a great picture.
My favorite post proccessing app is SKRWT. I love taking landscapes and this is great for straightening things or there are some funky mirror effects.

What about the resolution? Many people avoid the 19MP resolution for different reasons.

19MP is the only resolution. It's the native size of the sensor, meaning you get one=one. Anything else is derived from a software interpretation.
People seem to be obsessed by letterbox, perhaps because that's the way they watch TV. If you don't like the square shape of a 19MP picture, then edit it afterwards, but a least get the best quality you can to start with.
I've taken some decent shots with Open Camera. I like its DRO mode (dynamic range optimization). Haven't had much luck with stock camera app, although I'm a fan of the wide angle selfie camera.
the camera is good not more... not a lot of choices in creative mode, iA can't be customized, "macro" focus at 10 cm... at least it's pretty fast
I use the stock app, mainly in manual mode without object tracking (with that setting on I find the focus is a little inaccurate, maybe just an impression).
Overall i would say the app has all you need to take a photo plus a couple of nice features (like autofocus burst mode and predictive capture).
Any tips on what kind of exposure and ISO to use in manual mode? My pics always come out blurry.
Edit: For example, would the tips here apply? https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-xz/how-to/xperia-xz-camera-how-to-optimize-manual-t3534640
Sounds like most people are saying choose a low ISO and EV a little below 1.
I'm particularly interested in tips or settings that don't require a tripod, because I don't own one. And I think it's unrealistic to expect people to use a tripod to take decent phone pics.
I had a big night shootout in Frankfurt with XZ1c and Galaxy s8. Im not good in photography and all shoots are in Auto mode. Couple of shoots are manipulated in Adobe Lightroom in Auto light and color corections. They names started with LLR....
What You think?

I'm no photography expert, but I could see the difference instantly on most of these. The XZ1c photos were blurry and seemed improperly exposed. The S8 wasn't perfect, but it was generally a lot sharper. This basically mirrors my experience with the XZ1c and my previous phone that had a better camera, HTC 10.
Has anyone installed AOSP and got the Pixel's camera apk working on the xz1c? This is my main motivation for going the root -> rom route.
Take a picture of a green lawn or of leafy trees, and there's often an unpleasant, slightly smeary watercolor-like effect. Is it possible that using another camera application would prevent this processing effect?
Hello,
I am sorry in case this has been covered so far. I did not find it.
I have a custom ROM (RR6), but would like to use the stock Camera mainly for the slow motion 960fps video recording. It seems to be possible via this topic:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...-apps/app-xperia-xzs-panorama-camera-t3577514
But even if it worked, it would replace the custom ROM's Camera, which I'd like to keep. Is there a way to run these two Cameras side by side?
Or should I use another 3rd party app that does the slo-mo job?
Thanks a lot for anz advidce!

yea thats my concern as well. I am not sure if drm fix can re-enable the 960fps slow mo or is it gone for good after unlocking bootloader. If only we can get gcam and stock camera run together
