http://hotfile.com/dl/131101226/7660669/GoogleTalk.zip.html
I got it from HTC Ruby test firmware. The apk has proper Google signature.
It's still versioned 1.3 but I think it is newer than the one from http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip, because this one has more complete Chinese localization.

I am also interested. It is shame for samsung that they are not able to bundle talk with video into stock FW. We are in the 21st century.
test on KI3.. working..
however i intstall it manually by
1. extract the zip,
2. install the Talk2.apk
3. copy libtalk_jni.so into /system/lib using root explorer
thanks

Get the Download All Files app from Market.
The stock android browser doesnt allow you to download unsupported files. This includes files like .zip, .rar etc. Instead you get download failed. As claimui said get the download all files app from the market.
Gtalk video working perfect on Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKI4 Android 2.3.5
Help plz? I am still unable to make this google talk version stick after reboot. I tried some of the methods here (I don't understand the changed permissions to rw-r-r method) and nothing makes it stick after reboot. My SGS2 reverts back to the old Google Talk.
Hi,
First thing first Make Sure You Have Root access. i believe you have already rooted your phone.
to check root access use Root Check Basic (get it from android market)
This is Manual installation of gtalk
You Need Root Explorer (File Manager) for changing the permissions of \system\lib folder from R/O to R/W to copy libtalk_jni.so the file in \system\lib. Backup Your existing Gtalk files with Titanium Backup or Astro file Manager.
Download the GoogleTalk2.zip from page 1 unzip
1. Take Backup for existing Gtlak.
2. Delete the old Talk.odex and talk.apk from \system\app
3. Download both files, install gtalk2.apk
4. copy libtalk_jni.so run root explorer go to \system\lib change folder permissions from (Mouned R/O) readonly to (Mount R/W) ReadWrite rename the existing libtalk_jni.so to oldlibtalk_jni.so now Paste the copied libtalk_jni.so earlier to \system\lib Reboot Your Phone and Cross Your Fingers
I have tested on Samsung Galaxy S2 XXKI4 Android 2.3.5, and front camera video with voice working fine .
Hope this will Help.
Try This
Hi there,
I am just a noob, but tried Criskelo's latest rom and gtalk video works out of the box. Also this rom is much more better than the sgs2 stock rom.

Let me know how it goes and if you like the theme.
As for special requests for 4G icons, please attach a copy of SystemUI.apk if you're on 2.3, a copy of Framework-res.apk if you're on 2.2 or a copy of the theme APK if it's a ThemeManager theme. I just cant download or find every rom or theme that is requested.

You could just use the images and copy and replace them in the apk and adb push. Back up first because playing with framework files can soft brick devices easily (boot loop)

Thank you!
open up your zip rom folder on the computer, then go /system/framework/framework-res.apk and drag that apk file out, open that apk, best and easy with 7-zip program and put them in there, just close it up after, saves itself.. and adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework
same with Anroidian.apk and Cyanbread.apk

1. Use root explorer or adb to pull SystemUI.apk from the system/app folder
2. On your computer rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.zip
3. Open SystemUI.apk.zip (dont extract just open archive) using 7zip and go to res\drawable-hdpi folder
4. From the 4Gicons.zip posted in the OP copy the 8 png's and paste them into the System.apk.zip in res\drawable-hdpi.
5. Rename SystemUI.apk.zip back to SystemUI.apk
6. Zipalign APK(Step not absolutely necessary but optimizes the apk) put SystemUI.apk into tools folder of AndroidSDK. Open compand prompt and run this line "zipalign -v 4 SystemUI.apk SystemUIzipaligned.apk". A new APK called SystemUIzipaligned.apk will be created in the tools folder. Rename it back to SystemUI.apk
7. Use root explorer or Adb to push SystemUI.apk back to system/app folder
8. Using root explorer long press on SystemUI.apk and select permissions, place checks to User: read and write; Group read; Others: read, leave all other unchecked. ( i dont know how to change permissions using adb, this step might not be necessary if you dont have root explorer)
8. SystemUI.apk might force close constantly after copying it back. So, turn of screen of the phone, then back on but dont unlock, then hold power button and choose power off or reboot.
9.And your done
Here's a flashable zip I made you for GingerVillian 1.5 if you dont want to go through all those steps: 4Gicons-theme-GV15.zip

I'm having the exact same problem.
Is there anyway to correct this? I'd greatly appreciate it!
See the original thread posted by britoso for details but thought you guys might like a fresh post here with details specific to our SGS2:
[APP][ROOT] Google Talk 1.3 with Video calling, Now wifi optional!
Initially installed talk1.3.nowifi.update-signed.zip via root explorer as per I2asta's post but the other party could not see my video in their chat. So, installed the suggested "GoogleServicesFramework.apk" to /system/app location (root explorer), rebooted and video is now working both ways!!
Update - A little guide as suggested by nasgilani!
Notes
- Root Explorer is a paid app, tried & tested! There are free alternatives out there but use at your own peril...
- I'll be using the updated gapps and the files therein for this guide. If you want to use an alternative version e.g. nowifi, download that one and use in the instructions instead.
- After performing this mod you will probably have to setup your Google Account again... and possibly reboot a second time to resolve any quirks.
Steps
1. Download the Full Google Apps from 20110503 which includes the updated GTalk
2. Extract the following files from the zip and place them somewhere easily accessible on your phone's SDcard:
/system/app/Talk.apk
/system/app/GoogleServicesFramework.apk
/system/lib/libtalk_jni.so
3. Open up Root Explorer and goto your extracted files
4. Long Click on Talk.apk and rename to Talk2.apk
5. Long Click on Talk2.apk and copy it, then navigate to /system/app
6. Press Mount R/W at the top right so it looks like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Fig. 1 - Mount R/W to write files to this system folder
7. Click on the Paste button to paste it here
8. Long Click on Talk.apk and rename it to Talk.apk1
Fig. 2 - You should now have both talk2.apk and talk.apk1 as shown above
9. Long Click on Talk2.apk and select permissions
Fig. 3 - Permissions should be as above
10. Alter the permissions to the same as Fig. 3 above and OK it
11. Now navigate back to your extracted files and rename GoogleServicesFramework.apk to something like GoogleServicesFramework2.apk and then Copy it.
12. Navigate to system/app and then Paste it here
13. Rename the original GoogleServicesFramework.apk to GoogleServicesFramework.apk1
14. Now you can Rename the new GoogleServicesFramework2.apk to GoogleServicesFramework.apk
Fig. 4 - Now you should have 2 GoogleServicesFramework files
15. Long Click on the new GoogleServicesFramework.apk and alter the permissions to the same as shown in Fig. 3 above and then OK it
16. Navigate back to your extracted files again and Copy libtalk_jni.so
17. Then navigate to /system/lib and press Mount R/W
18. Paste libtalk_jni.so here
19. Again, set the Permissions of libtalk_jni.so as shown in Fig. 3
20. Reboot your phone...
21. Open up Talk, click on your own avatar and make sure Allow video and voice chats is enabled
22. Test out chat to make sure audio/video is working both ways...
23. Done!

yep, I renamed it in the above instructions to Talk.apk1 and left it there just in case you wanted to revert back to the original Talk.
Just a note, lost my Google sync after installing the GoogleServicesFramework.apk, and had to re-add my account in Settings to get my contacts back etc...
No issue obviously just wanted to prevent any "OMGWTFBBQ!! where have all my contacts gone?!?!?!?!" posts... lol

yep, I've only tested with PC clients and if you installed the nowifi version then it works with 3G. The quick tests I've done over 3G shows it works rather well with only a slight lag, acceptable imo.

Sorry mate, i missed that part as i had already installed it and the only change i made was installing GoogleServicesFramework.apk as i found earlier today my mate could hear but not see me...
So that was my bad buddy, i'm sure anyone coming to this thread and reading properly will see what i missed, i just scanned it quick as i had already done most of the work...
One thing i've experienced, when switching to the Rear Camera, it cashes and I only get audio until I select Force Close... i tried this several times but on the 4th it fully crashed my phone, which took maybe 2mins to decide to reboot itself... no damage done tho...

What is the different between talk1.3.nowifi.update-signed.zip and gapps.zip? Is it the same? Just curious.
Do we have this working with the front camera yet?
Does 'Talk2.apk' not need to be renamed to 'Talk.apk' between steps 9 and 10?

Is working for me. Front and rear cam.
Here's stock samsung keyboard. You can install it on any ROM (deodexed or odexed)
UDPATE - 8/2/2012- New *working* flashable zips added. Old ones have been removed. No need to add the files manually, just flash the zip
SPECIAL thanks to mor_1228 for the flashable zips. I created my flashable zips using his flashable zip as a base
PS - The keyboard seems to be having incompatibility issues on *some* CM7 ROMs. It does install but force closes when you try to open it. I will look into this issue once my exams get over.
Instructions -
1) If you are using a deodexed ROM, download
flashable-deodexed.zip from attachments.
If you are using an odexed ROM, download
flashable-odexed.zip from attachments.
SouthEastAsian users - download AxT9IME_MDPI_SEA.zip (thanks to ketut
for this)
2) Place the file in your SD card.
3) Boot into ClockWorkMod Recovery
4) Select 'install zip from sd card'
5) Navigate to the file and select it. Let it install
6) Reboot
Follow this method if the flashable zips are not working for you -
How to install:
1) Download the attached zip file (Keyboard_Deodexed.zip for Deodexed ROM's and Keyboard_Odexed.zip for Odexed ROM's) and extract it (Its not a flashable zip)
2) Using root explorer or same kind of tool, place these files and set the permissions -
If the flashable zip files dont work, then try this method
DEODEXED ROM's~
Touchwiz.xml put in /system/etc/permissions and set permission to rw-r--r-- (I have attached a screenshot, see it if you dont understand the permission stuff)
libdhwr.so put in /system/lib and set permission to rw-r--r--
libXt9_core.so put in /system/lib and set permission to rw-r--r--
T9db folder(with all files inside, copy this whole folder)
put in /system and set permission to rwxr-xr-x
AxT9IME.apk put in /system /app and set permission to rw-r--r--
ODEXED ROM's ~
Everything is same as above. You just need to add this - AxT9IME.odex put in /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r--
If you dont understand permissions take a look at screenshots.
rw-r--r--

** Finally I got some time to test this during preparatory leave for the next exam. Ahan, here's a workaround for adding words to dictionary - Open any app where you can type something using the keyboard, go to settings, Activate XT9, now get back to the place where you want to type, type a word which you want to save to your dictionary. It will automatically get saved to dictionary. Next time you type the same word, it'll automatically appear in the black suggestion menu above the keyboard. Cheers

Hello,
I did all that but still won't work, only numbers. help...
Which ROM are you using?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
Cyano Ace - RC 2.2 - BehradGH
It should work perfectly on that rom. Please try again. Read the instructions properly and set the permissions accordingly.
If you still face problems then tell me

I tried again and doesn't work properly. qwerty mode works fine, but 3x4 keyboard doesn't. when i hit letter only numbers are being written.
Umm, press the third button in the 4th column, which has the nos. '123' written on it. Try pressing some number buttons and then repress the no. button to come back to alphabet mode. I hope this helps.
I am actually not able to understand why the problem is occuring. It should work fine on any rom and any phone because it does not require touchwiz framework.

I allready tried that few times, numbers and symbols works ok, but alphabet dont.

Sir, I've updated it. Please try the odexed version (do not place AxT9IME.odex in system, please leave it). I know the ROM you are using is Deodexed but using odexed version may fix the problem
I had that problem on another samsung keyboard.. I could not type letters only numbers... Than I noticed that permissions for the T9DB were not rwxr-xr-x as they should be but they were rw–r– r! So check permissions and reboot... For me it worked!
Anyway with every samsung keypad that I tried I always had a fc trying to add a new word to dictionary with 3x4 keyboard! I hope this keyboard won't have that issue!
I'm tired of trying Stock keyboards. Can you please tell me if in this one you can add new words to T9? I always get inputmethod.xt9 error, but now I have one that when I add I don't have the error, but the word isn't saved to the dictionary.

Ok, followed instructions and repeated everything 3 times... at reboot keyboard seems to not be installed... Copied everything in right folders, and setted permissions... Then I reboot and no samsung keyboard appear... where do I wrong? I'm on ICS final by jusada, if I'm not wronging it should be odexed...

Install De-odexed version. ICSunday is deodexed, I guess. Anyway, you can still try it. It wont harm your phone in anyway

Ics rom's thread has been deleted so I could not check if ics is deodexed or not! Anyway I'll try other version too!
Edit : it works but it fc when trying to add a new word!
The stock camera on this phone blows as we all know. But fear not... the AOSP camera is completely compatible with our Moto G!:laugh::good: I'll give a quick tutorial on how to replace your camera for people that are new to this. But for those of you that have been around the block, basically youre just going into system/priv-app and renaming the moto cam & gallery apk's to apk.bak, then copy/pasting the attached camera and gallery apks to the system folder, setting R/W permissions, and rebooting.
Now for the step by step... (i'll be using Solid Explorer for this example, because its free from the play store, but you can use any file exploring app you like as long as it has root access)
1. Download the zip file in the link https://www.dropbox.com/s/crpilccds52lmaw/AOSPcam&gallery.zip and extract it. Inside should be two files, GalleryGoogle.apk and GoogleCamera.apk. Copy them to the internal storage of your phone.
2. Download Solid Explorer from the play store. Open it up and hit the jump button at the bottom, then device, then system root.
3. Now scroll down to the system folder, tap it and go into the priv-app folder. Scroll down till you see four files - MotCamera.apk, MotCamera.Odex, MotGallery.apk, & MotGallery.odex. For each one, hold down on it until the option to Rename it pops up, then add ".bak" to the end of each one. (example, MotCamera.odex = MotCamera.odex.bak) SuperSU should pop up asking for root access, grant it of course.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
4. When youre done renaming, hit the jump button again, then device> Internal Memory. Inside should be your two files you downloaded earlier. Hit the actions button at the bottom, then select, and highlight the 2 files and hit the copy button at the bottom (the 4th one that looks like two little papers). Now hit Jump> Device> System Root and go into the system folder, then the app folder. Hit actions again and Paste.
5.Stay in the system/app folder, now find you two files you just pasted, and hold down on one of them, then tap Properties, and where it says Attributes hit change. You should only have 4 checkmarks here: Read for Owner, Group, and Other... and Write for Owner. Anything else thats checked, uncheck it. Hit ok and do the same for the other one.
6. Follow the directions in this post to fix fc's in gallery editor (thanks tazlooney89 :thumbup: ) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49263859
7. Now reboot and youre all done! Now you have a less crappy camera and a smoother gallery app! :highfive:

Moto G doesn't have a gyro sensor, so this is the reason why Photosphere won't ever work.

Nope, no photosphere. It does have a lot more options, like selecting MP size, scenes, and ISO.
*as a side note, part of the reason the stock Moto camera takes such crappy pics is that by default it takes pics at 3.5 MP. Uncheck the 16:9 option to get the full 5 MP :thumbup:

Same here. ES has root access according to SU app, but when I try to rename it, I get task failed.
Running on 4.4.2 US retail.
Oops... Sorry guys, I didn't realize ES was having problems. I personally did it with Root Explorer app, but since it's a paid app I didn't want to recommend it...
But I suggest using Solid Explorer, it has a free trial version and I've tested it just now so I know it works, just follow the use basic instructions as before. I'll update the op a little later:banghead:

But root browser does, and its free on google play.

Does it seem to you pictures are any better? I can't decide.
I think so. Try taking a pic of something with writing on it with both cams.
Is slow motion recording enabled?

To me, the focus seems to work better and also the pics look more natural, with a little less processing / saturation that the stock moto cam. Low light shots still look crappy, but I think that's more of a hardware limitation.

I've done it with ES File Explorer, no problems at all. Thanks for the apps
For those who are having issues with ES File Explorer you must MOUNT R/W to make changes in "/system"

If any of you have problems with the editor of pictures inside the gallery and problems with the panoramic photos, specifically FCs.
Download the zip file containing the libraries necessary to avoid these problems.
Download fix-galleryeditor.zip
Remove the lib folder and copy it to SDcard
Copy the files to / system / lib with RootExplorer or EsExplorer
* If you are instructed to replace some files will accept the option.
Finally give permissions RW - R - R
Restart their Moto entering G Galeria, edit photography and editor will be working properly.

Yes :good:
@lowrider262 & @tazlooney89
Thank you both.
I made flashable zip for this (apps & lib files) for easy installation.
If you have problem with this, i delete them...
To all
Chose your zip.
AOSP_Cam_and_gallery_delete_Moto_Cam.zip -> original Moto Camera & Gallery app will be deleted
or
AOSP_Cam_and_gallery_leave_Moto_Cam.zip -> original Moto Camera & Gallery app will NOT be deleted, and you will have two Camera and two Gallery apps
Copy zip dile to your device, flash it via CMW, TWRP or flashify
If someone used AOSP_Cam_and_gallery_delete_Moto_Cam.zip and want to have back MOTO Camera and Gallery, then flash this MOTO_Cam_and_gallery_delete_AOSP.zip. This will add back Moto Cam & Gallery apk with odex files, and will delete AOSP apk's.

WETA is a rom for Music geeks like me, though because we are still waiting on TWRP to become available i'd thought i'd make these MODs to flash in the meantime.
How to install...
This method is redundant from V2.0 forward
1. Make sure you are on Stock firmware and have rooted device
2. Download mod zip
3. Install this app "Root Browser"
4. Extract the zip (click and hold, select extract) using Root Browser directly into Download folder. (you should have /sdcard/Download/(zip name) as folder with files in it)
5. Go into Download/(zip name) folder and select script for desired Emoji.
6. Tick "Execute script as root"
7. Then select the Execute button
8. It will say "Executing script"
9. Once complete you should have a popup box with no errrors.
10. Device will reboot automatically

Looking at the script and files, it looks to be the same font name, so no. It would take some trickery to have multiple emoji sets available on the same system.

I tried running your script and it did not work. Well, it appeared to have worked, rebooted, but all the emoji's are the same (not iOS 10).
I'm contemplating on manually doing it, as I've replaced system files in the past.
Edit: Just moved the file manually and changed the permissions to RW-R-R and it worked like a charm. I don't think your script is moving the file correctly ?
Anyways, thanks for the font packs!

I did both of these things, but okay.
I re-read your instructions and it appears that you're assuming there will be a folder with the name of the zip file under Downloads with the scripts in it. I extracted the zip contents into downloads and it put the scripts in downloads, and the sys folder in there as well. Perhaps this is where the confusion is? I see your script has the following path: /sdcard/Download/WETA_Pixel_emoji/sys/ios10/fonts/, where the bolded folder is the difference. When I extract your zip to the Downloads folder, it doesn't create this folder automatically (perhaps your version of Root Browser is set to do this).
I'm sure this will help anyone in a similar situation.

Root browser is not root explorer. Root browser extracts to a folder of the same name as the zip. This is why I link the app also. All I'm trying to do is make it as simple as possible for people who don't even know what a script is. If root browser is not extracting to that named folder then I'm sorry I got it wrong. I don't want people misled by any of this. Please confirm what root app you are using
Use root browser peoples just like the OP stated.
