Hi I bought a Xperia Arc S yesterday.
The provider is "Orange" (Switzerland).
I now want to remove the branding from the software.
What is the best way to do. I just want to remove this branding.
Thanks & Regards

Unlocking BL has nothing to do with debranding, as far as I know...

Sorry for digging out this topic...
Just to clarify: I'll debrand an Arc S from Vodafone Germany. Just flashing with a generic firmware will do the job? After that I can root/flash/supercharge it like mine?
arc s:
LT18i 4.0.2.A.0.62 Generic World:http://ul.to/gsfx4w60
arc:
LT15i 4.0.2.A.0.62 Generic Global World : http://ul.to/nq33zniu
lt15a usa:
LT15a 4.0.2.A.0.62 Generic USA: http://uploaded.to/file/f58llc72
there you go,
just choose ne for your model, flash it and your ready to go
Ok, I'll take a .42 version cause of rooting it. After that ICS and so on.
cant ROOT 4.0.2.A.0.62 r800i FW .. why?
is there any way to root it? thanks
I think after. 52 Sony made the firmware unrootable so you have to downgrade

Well if your bootloader is unlocked then just flash a custom kernel and be done with it they are all auto-root! That's assuming your bootloader is unlocked,, if not then .58 firmware is your best bet

Hi all,
My Acro S is on firmware 6.1.A.2.45.
My phone region number is : 1266-2032 ( I think Hong Kong). I would like to upgrade firmware to 6.1.A.2.50 or 55 but Sony companion and SEUS is not give me an update.
Is it possible to manual update with downloading stock firmware 6.1.A.2.55 (from different region) on the internet and use flashtool update?
Yes. Just download .55 and flash with Flashtool.

1st step is unnecessary, because kernel will be flashed together with firmware anyway. Everything else is correct.
Thx

.13 is a branded firmware, only available for some regions.
For every other region, .587 is the newest.
To OP: Checked my files storage.
For Xperia Arc, I found .431. You can install this and then make update to .587 (either OTA or via PC Companion): http://www.mediafire.com/download/pzr6phfd19xgbva/LT15i_4.1.B.0.431_Generic.7z
For Xperia Arc S, I found .587 firmware: http://www.mediafire.com/download/rhr59r4o6oarnfx/LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2184).7z

Yes you can. I hate waiting for updates too. If you have root, there is a link in my thread showing how to update to 4.3 from a country that has it.

will this flashing void warranty?
Flashing FTF file of stock firmware will not void your warranty unless you unlocked your boot-loader. you can take TA BACKUP before unlocking your bootloader and then restore them.(after restoring your DRM keys you will regain your warranty)
