That's entirely dependent on your carrier and your location; the only sure way to tell is to try each radio out, there's a link to the radio thread in the dev forum sticky.

Everything Radio
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970809
Good results with Vision_Radio_12.56.60.25_26.10.04.03
or Vision_Radio_12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30 works for me in the UK.

There's no "best" radio. Different people have different results, even on different sides of the same city.
Start with the latest radio made for the 2.3 ROM, and go from there and do tests in your area.

[Q] Old Hydra kernals?

I don't want to flash a new rom onto my phone because I don't want to set everything up again (at least not now). I do, however, want to install an UV SS hydra kernal onto my phone but I need an older .29 compatible hydra kernal (I believe 0.4?).
I have 2.1 stock, unrevoked 3+ forever, radio 2.15
Do I need to revert to 1.00 radio or 2.05? or will 2.15 radio work?
Any help will be greatly appreciated, I have been stuck for a while.
Just flash it as normal....I would use v8 hydra

why v8? I kind of just want to save my battery don't care much for speed rly
anyone have .4 or .8? I would like to try em both out

thats weird, i got 2.15 radio and 2.5.2 skyraider, nothing wrong on my videos.
From what I understand for the earlier 0.4 and 0.9 hydra kernals you can use 2.1 with radio 1.00
The 2.15 radio is for 2.2 and 0.5 and 1.0 hydra
I would recommend using the v0.3 undervolt kernel from hydra as v0.4 moved up to kernel .32 which will not work with a stock 2.1 rom.
Please note the change logs for V0.4
"v0.4 - New kernel version 2.6.32. TUN is now a module."
I've tried it with v0.5 and found out quickly what was wrong after going through boot loops for 5 minutes
Since I'm new I can not post a link to the download but If you want the link I can send it to you in a private message.
I use the stock 1.x radio with s-off, I haven't found a need or want to update radio with the things I've been hearing, I know I would probably be fine, but I don't use the camcorder, and 2.2 runs fine with the 1.x radio.

[Q] upgrade from cyanogen to android revolution

Hi
I followed some very helpful guides on here previously and installed CyanogenMod 6.1
I have been reading that there have been new radio releases and various kernels that have helped with battery life (mine is poor despite low light, BT off, wifi off) and poor signal (worse than my Magic).
I have been overwhelmed by the various radios out there and their compatibility with the ROMs. Some radios seem to have caused more problem than benefit. On top of that there was an issue that if you had S-off i shouldnt update?!?!
So my question is: If I want to update my Radio and ROM to get the benefits of better signal and battery life which ROM/Radio/Kernel combo should I try? Im thinking the : [ROM] Android Revolution HD 2.0.8 | High Quality & Performance | O/C | Sense/no-Sense http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=840040

Thanks
Do a complete wipe and download the Rom.
Install the Rom and setup.
Download the one click radio s-off app and follow the instructions.
Flash the recommend radio for the Rom.
Download and flash the buzz kernel if you wish to use it.
After that you will be up to date.
Good luck

Bell Desire Z UPDATE RADIO

Hi.
I have an unlocked Bell Desire Z with ENG HBOOT and S-OFF.
Also, It's running CyanogenMOD 7.
My radio is: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
I would like to update the RADIO with the latest to see if I get better signal or faster speeds on my network.
I have 3 questions.
1-. G2 and EU Desire Z radios work with Bell Desire Z (3G 850/1900)?
2-. If I update to 12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17 or 12.52. 60.25_26.08.04.30_M3_test_18 I , will I be able to go back to my default radio if I don't get better results?
3-. FASTBOOT is the way to flash RADIO, but what about REIL coorelation in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988557&highlight=radio
Is it something to consider?
Bye and thanks.
1. You can flash any DZ radio from any region. Some radios are region specific and may or may not reduce your signal quality.
2. You can always flash an older radio if you dont like the new one.
3. RIL matching is recommended but not truely necessary. I've done it afew times and i have not seen any good or bad from it.

[Q] Radio dropout?!?!?!?!?

Hi all
I've been seaching the web and XDA but I cant seem to find a solution to my problem.
I have a Galaxy Nexus GSM:
Android version: 4.01
Baseband: I9250XXKK1
KERNEL: 3.0.1-ga052f63 / android [email protected] # 1
Version: ITL41F.I9250XWKK9
The phone is rooted as well.
My problem is, that everytime I try to upgrade my ROM and / or Kernel to 4.02 / 4.03 or a tweaked version of 4.04, I get Radio dropouts.
50% of the time a have a signal and 3g as well, but the sudently everything drops out for like 2 min, and then It'll all come back?
The only way my phone is stable is with the 4.01 kernel as descibed.
Is this b.c. I need a special ROM and/or KERNEL for my phone (I live in Denmark)
Please help me out
Best reg.

Same exact issue. I've tried multiple radios and the issue persists. Starting to consider a warranty replacement...

Solution:
I had this exact same issue with stock kernel using asop 4.0.3 from team klang, I tried multiple radios and still no luck however switching to this kernel helps for some reason:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487239
It really worked for me. No drop outs in 4 days vs the drop out twice a day.
Good luck
Problem solved!
used you solution and everything is great!!!
Ill give another reply in a couple of days when done testing ;-)

I'm no expert, but it seems to me like you should try to reflash your stock ROM.
There is a good tutorial on how to do this by CafeKampuchia. Be sure to follow the steps carefully. I recommend reading them through before actually doing them.

You'll need to find the right Recovery file for your phone by looking here.
I hope this helps.
The downgrade it's not possible, because i have hboot 1.18
