Hi guys.
Is there anybody that know how can I connect my c# desktop application to a Windows Mobile Phone?
Thanks in advance,
A.B.
What do you mean? You can load data in the Iso Storage of sideloaded apps with Windows Phone Power Tools.
For a direct data transfer, I have no clue, you maybe have to look at sockets.
Transfering data trough dropbox to the phone is quite easy, there are APIs for that
Thanks a lot for your usefull answer Marvin.
I try to explain what I mean more clearly.
I desire communicate with device in order to trigger mobile os commands remotely (from pc) via c#.
All apps (e.g. Windows Phone Power Tools, Windows Phone Device Manager) need Zune to communicate with device: what are the dll that they use for detect and talk with device?
My phone is locked and is a Dell Venue Pro..with "Windows Phone Device" Manager" I can access to HDD but I see only images..where are the apps?
Thanks,
A.B.
It's not that simple... The keywords are "CoreCon API", undocumented, tricky etc.
I can't explain you too much, sorry...

not sure this the right forum for this, but putting this out there.
it would be awesome if i could fully install windows 7 ultimate (x86) onto a bootable usb flash drive.
Any ideas on this? i may need to be able to duplicate whatever solution there is 20 times (fellow students NEED an answer to this, another computer is not an option)

this isnt really something that can be easily done. Windows relies and uses drivers that are more specific to devices. Windows also uses so much information that is captured in the registry. Linux can get away because it uses a more "generic" setup. others may want to chime in if they know more.
I was able to find this:

i was wondering if theres anything such as windows-controlling-an-android remote assistance software?
reason why i ask this is because some people are not good with android and they keep asking me for help with it. instead of meeting them up in person I was wondering if its possible to control their android device from Windows?
get the android vnc app from the market
No results found... what's the app called exactly?
Isn't android-vnc something that controls your computer from your phone? Original post requests just the opposite: the ability to control someone's phone from his computer.
Teamviewer??
I any luck yet
I think the OP is looking for the opposite -- Remote support to control the Android device FROM a computer, not controlling a computer from Android
I'm looking for the same thing to help my family out. I currently use VNC and a custom script to do remote PC support.
Droid Explorer, but you need basic adb (android-sdk) installed, but it gives you full control of your phone. You can push apps, take screen shots, and everything inbetween
Search remote web desktop. There is a control addon that works very well, and all in a web interface. No adb necessary.

Webkey. Although it might be too powerful for what you need...
You can try AirDroid.

Sorry guys, i have bought a tablet for the grandma, and tried to help her many times over phone conversation. She has now the basic skills to the tablet, but as you know the android can be very embarrassing and surprising...
I really need a remote assistance software WITHOUT any rooting and other miserable solutions: just simply install and use.
I feel myself as a victim of a fascist raping. Do you guys or do the manufacturers really think, to help for a 70 years old lady is an extreme requirement?
The tablet: prestigio pmp7070c, fantastic hardware with the looser android. The winmo 6 would be far more better than this miserable android.

You'll have to piece the link together as I'm not yet allowed to post links on XDA.
It's not free. But this will work.
I have a Nexus 10 and I am tired of android and I'm going to sell it and get a windows RT tablet (probably the just anounced Nokia 2520). The only things I do with my tablet is download comics from my computer (*.cbr files) and then put them on my tablet and read them and also internet browsing. Can I do these things with a windows RT tablet? Is there a file manager to put the files to the tablet from the PC? Is there a comic book reader app? How smoothly does it show the pages changing in a comic book? If someone could help me with this I would be really greatful.

There are a couple of CBR readers in the store and yes there is a full file manager in Windows RT. It is pretty similar to windows 8 in that regard. I would actually suggest though that you sync the files from your PC to SkyDrive and then Sync them down to RT.
When you with skydrive can you select the exact folder you want to put the files in the tablet?
You cannot connect a windows RT tablet to a PC directly with a USB cable as with android tablets. But windows RT is a near full port of windows 8. So you get the regular windows 8 file browser, regular internet explorer file download abilities. Skydrive can sync your files as already mentioned. Or a simple USB memory stick plugged into your PC, copy files onto it, plug it into your RT, copy files off of it. And network file servers work too.

No if you go for the Surface 2.
I had a surface rt, note 10.1 and a xoom and i love reading comics, but to be honest i like more reading on a android
Android - perfect viewer
Surface rt - CBReader (i test all cbr readers and this one is the best)
Both work preatty good but on android is so much better. On android the autozoom and two fingers zoom is flawless in metro is some pain in the ass sometimes

Oh, in Dell XPS10 manual that was said to be possible, but was not working in real. I thought that's engineering fail in Dell, but really - other RT devices also can't be connected via USB? Even some RNDIS and ActiveSync (from WM) like behavior would be nice here...

No, the microUSB is charging only and on most tablets also USB host (use one of the old android USB OTG adaptors). Windows RT is almost a direct port of windows 8 to ARM. Windows does not support acting as a USB device, only USB host is supported. Windows NT (the kernel, or the very bottom layer of the operating system) does support USB device mode as windows phone 8 also uses the NT kernel and can be USB device, in theory they could have added a USB device mode driver to windows 8 but they didnt.
Instead though you can use a memory stick because well, its windows, or if you share a network drive from your main machine you can view it on the tablet, FTP clients are available too if you put an FTP server on your main system. Skydrive synchronisation, dropbox app, google drive in browser. Lots of ways of moving files.
Adding USB device mode would be a nice touch on their part though....
Alot of x86 chipsets don't support it though so on x86 tablets the cost factor of adding an external USB device mode chip may be a factor.
Well if your going for a lower price the $349 Asus t100 is also a good choice it runs complete windows 8.1 and comes with Microsoft office for free. The battery life is around 11 hour use and it comes with a free keyboard dock. You can run any x86 windows legacy applications on this device.

Windows explorer is far better than any android file manager I have come across. Internet explorer as a windows web browser may not be the best but massively exceeds any mobile browser I have ever come across.
Any incase you didn't notice. He said he was tired of android.

YEs, I realised he is, but I've seen SO MANY people complaining that there's no file manager or can't do 'this' or 'that', that I have to ask.
How to identify if the smart phone connected to the PC runs Android. I want to identify this information from an application running in PC (say Windows PC), without enabling USB debugger in mobile.
I tried to figure out using the IMEI number, but could not find.
Is there any API or smarter way available that uniquely identify if the connected device runs Android? Like verifying the folder structures or something? Does the device drivers contain the OS information which I can use? How the PC-Suites like "MOBILedit!" identifies it?
Also, how www[dot]imei[dot]info gives me the operating system of my mobile just by IMEI number?
Looking all these makes me to believe that there is some way for this , please help.
nice

Interesting question dude. I'm not sure if this will help but its what I've got. If you use Tor, the free proxy, they give you a way to check your anonymity by going to ip-check.info. and if you do a full test it shows a bunch of unique device id's and stuff for your IP, but it also tells what device, os, build number, and even which browser your using. Now I know this is all over the internet and for a different purpose than what youre looking for but if they can figure out what device I'm using over a browser, I think you can accomplish what you want here. Check it out and maybe it'll inspire some ideas. And keep us posted!

Well, when it goes through internet, there is a way. The User-Agent string that is passed during request will have all the info like OS, browser version etc.. I am more looking at the specific scenario of mine.
Just brainstorming asshole. Hope ya never figure it out

i have been using zooper widget pro for a while now and i've been wondering if it's possible to create these widgets on a desktop for ease of configurations and so on? i searched for a thread on this but came up with people referring to the phone desktop not a desktop PC/mac/nix machine. possibly using android studio? i know that android studio is used to package your sets/widgets into apk format but it would help some of us who wish to develop more widgets for zooper if we could use the desktop for speed purposes.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

I searched for the very same thing. I don't think you can because in virtual environment you don't have access to the sensors of a device. I could be entirely wrong! But I've tried creating a virtualBox android and the app will not install on it.
But .. I'm assuming that you're wishing to do this because it gets cumbersome to just sit on the phone and do it. Correct? If this is the cause there are three options for you. One is paid the other two are free. The paid one is VMLite VNC Server and you run that on your phone and connect to your phone using any VNC client. The first free one is Mobizen for the phone part and the PC part you have to get the Mobizen beta PC client. And the second free option is WiFi Keyboard + Screen Capture, just read the description in the Play Store. The second is a bit tricky to set up. I had to play around with it for 20 or so minutes and have had the best luck being on USB with it although it will work WiFi.
I hope this gets you further to where you want to be!
Having saw this post and tried both methods I couldn't deal with the lag so I used another method. I made a tutorial about it here if either if you are still interested.
