[Q] Original carrier-branded rom? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Long story short, I got sloppy with my (carrier-branded) phone and now I need to send it for technical repairs. Is there any way to obtain and flash the original, carrier-branded ROM it came with? I don't have any copy of the original ROM.
Thanks!

Quick question regarding Custom Firmware

Hi,
I currently have a VF UK Desire, which has been updated with the recent branding.
I'm planning on rooting the phone and installing "NexTSense v5.0 Sense-FroYo 2.2 Official"...
Once this is done, can I run a RUU (say RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe) to unroot my phone is I have issues and need to send back for warranty repairs?
Thanks,
Kiz
Hi there, you can indeed unroot your phone but the problem is that the bootloader will remain unlocked meaning that it is possible to tell that the phone has been messed with. I don't know for sure if that ROM would unroot the phone though, not that it really makes a differance especially if you find you need to return it for a reason that would prevent you restoring such as a broken USB port

[Q] Create official odin image? Or: firmware for drei.at?

Hi.
I got a note 2 and would like to have an odin image with the official state as I bought it before I start tinkering with it (root, flashing rom, etc) so I can restore it if I need to claim warranty service.
The issue is: The firmware is of the austrian mobile operator 3 (www.drei.at) and I did not find an official firmware for it!
Can someone point me to it if it exists (did not find it on http://www.sammobile.com/firmware)?
Else: Is it possible to create an "official" system dump of it that works with odin? So if I restore from that created firmware it restores to the state I bought it without anything changed (no custom firmware counter increased, etc).?
I know there are some guides on how to create odin dumps, but they are rather complicated and I am unclear if I restore from one of those if it counts it as official (does it need to be signed for that and anyone not from samsung even do that?) and does not increase it.
Can you help me?

You can root your phone and do whatever you want, and whenever you want. You can simply return to official warranty version by following steps in first reply of the link i attached.
Thanks
I don't think you get want I mean:
I know how rooting and flashing and odin works, i've done it lots of times. And i've also returned phones to stock.
Until now however I always had unlocked devices with completely official samsung firmwares, but now I have an oparator specific firmware: that of 3 austria.
I did not find an image for this firmware, so I cannot flash back the correct stock image because I did not find that specific image provided anywhere.
So my question:
- Where do I get the firmware JRO03C.N7100XXALIJ for 3 austria? Is it even available?
- If not: can I create it myself?
On http://www.sammobile.com/firmware the only option sensible that gives me results is the latest 10...
Is there a way to view all firmwares for a device (i.e.: n7100) to make sure mine is not among them?
this site is much better. you won't find that firmware exactly but you find other updates for your specific region!

[Q] Question about warranty and custom ROM

So, i'm tempted to flash Omega or Android HD ROM on my Note 2, but i'm worried about a few things...
I already have the phone rooted, and from what i've understood so far, i can use triangle away to make it look like it was never touched, in case i need to go to warranty (please correct me if what i've said is wrong).
Will i be able to make it look like it's never been flashed/tampered with, if i flash a custom ROM and i have to go to warranty?
Let's say i DO flash a custom ROM like Omega or Android HD and a button isn't working anymore, and it's surely a hardware problem, naturally, i'll have to go to warranty to get it fixed. In this situation, will i be able to flash a stock ROM and fool everyone that it's never been flashed/rooted? And if yes, how? I'd appreciate a description of the whole process.
Hope i've been able to explain myself well enough to get an answer.
Thanks in advance!
You would need to find the stock firmware for your device and then flash it using odin
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
This is my device's info:
Model number: GT-N7100
Baseband version: N7100BUALI8
Build number: JRO003C.N7100XXALIJ
Is there any way to find out where to get my stock ROM?
Depends what country you from and whether the phone in it's original state was branded to a specific carrier or not.
If you know that then go to www.samfirmware.com and search for your stock firmware
eg: if you're from UK, and your carrier is Vodafone, then you would choose, "United Kingdom (Vodafone)" firmware. etc..
After you download your firmware, then flash with odin, and make sure that the flash counter is "0" using triangle away, and that's it. The process of reflashing a stock firmware to your phone should unroot you automatically if you are rooted.
Yes, my phone was branded and locked to Vodafone, Romania, but i've used GalaxSim to unlock it (YAY!).
I've searched SamFirmware for the ROM that i should have, but there's only one for Romania ( http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=7110 )
I don't know if this is the one that came with my phone, but i guess it should be ok, right?
Later edit: OMFG, the ROM is 1.3 GB
Even later edit: Damn, HotFile is so slow T_T''

Flashing stock rom - does it equal to stock provider rom?

Hi Guys,
I rooted my phone, for making a backup of an important app and i removed the root after that. Now the 6.0 OTA is coming (i guess soon), but i noticed my root counter is on:
ht tp://snag . gy/8Hrtt.jpg
So i guess i have to reflash a stock rom from kdz, right?
My phone's version info:
SW Version Info: D85520j-216-30
SW Original Version: LGD855-AT-00-V20j-GLOBAL-TMO-OCT-27-2015
Factory Version: LGD855AT-01-V20j-216-30-OCT-27-2015
I found a "D85520i_00.kdz" stock rom using LG CSMG Tool. My question: will the rom „correct” itself to my carrier after flashing? What i mean under "correct", is that my current (stock) rom is V20i-216-30. It’s a Hungarian T-Mobile SIM locked rom. So the when i’m about to switch back to stock rom (after using custom rom),
if i flash this rp, (D85520J_00 (from LG CSMG Tool)) will it be the same: hungarian T-Mobile SIM locked ? I don’t want to lose warranty, that’s why i’m asking.
Thanks is advance,
Tom
If you had to use your specific IMEI number to get the .kdz, then it is indeed specific for your device.
Apparently if you go back to 'factory' stock using official methods, it should remove root and reset the root count.
if you are still not sure, try a search here on XDA, there are quite a few tutorials to guide you.
Good luck.

Oh i see!
I thought it's the default, unlocked international rom, but seems i wasn't thinking right.
Thanks for clearing up the smoke!
Cheers!

Which step do i do first? Install T-mobile Stock ROM.

Hi AlI, hope I posted this question in the correct area. I am new to the whole flashing /rooting . I've watched several videos and read tutorials but I'm confused about the order of how to go about doing what I want to do. ..??
I purchased an Unlocked AT&T Galaxy 4 mini from eBay.
I want to flash it to a stock T-Mobile ROM -Kit Kat 4.4.2.
Do I need to root the phone first before attempting to flash it?
Or can I do the Flash T-Mobile ROM without rooting.
I don't want to turn my phone into a brick!!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Excited to learn how to start doing this, thanks again, Dan.
This forum is for the T-Mobile s4, not the s4 mini.
You cannot cross-flash stock ROMs from one Samsung phone to another Samsung phone using Odin; however, you may be able to flash ports from other Samsung phones using a custom recovery.
