Best Life time ROm - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a coworker of mine that needs his evo roots and either a new keneral or rom installed on it.
I would install the newer sense 3.0 but he needs something that would last 21 hours or more working in the field.
I installed Fresh Evo and A power save keneral on his old evo around 6 months ago.
I am wondering if anything new has come out that would be better or similar to custom roms and kenerals that I installed?
(Also would I have to flash a new recover to run the rom) <-- doesn't matter I will read up on what ever you guys post.

Anyone? By Lifetime I meant Battery life
SCREW WORKING ITS HURTING MY BRAIN.

Try a aosp rom they have great battery life

Synergy Rom. Also buy an extended battery that can be used with the factory battery cover. Don't flash the Synergy God Mode, flash RLS1 without God Mode. God Mode is hit & miss with people's phones and more people (including myself) have much better performance with regular Synergy rom without God Mode.
Another thing is you can also flash the Sense 3.0 Carousel Rosie if you want or you can leave the stock Synergy risie.
This is the Rom I use and it has been the fastest lag-free and most stable EVO Rom that I have used. If you want HTC Sence then Synergy or MikG Rom is the way to go in my opinion.

Pair MikG with ChopSuey kernel. Amazing battery life. Two days strong battery life with moderate usage and factory battery.
Best recovery: Amon Ra 2.3 by far. Just need to wipe everything (well, except for SD card of course.
And of course: radios. Depending on cell standby draining his battery, you may want to downgrade/upgrade radios. There is a big thread in EVO Development discussing "Fix Wakelock" a combination of radios and GPS fixes.

Favorite "stock" based rom?

I am using a stock based rom now because I picked up a docking station and hdmi cable and it wouldn't work on the rom i was using.
I have tried a few like azrael..any recommendations? I like the non sense gallery view, i need to be able to tether and or use wifi. Would say i am looking for something with good battery life but i dont really care anymore cause i picked up an extended battery.
My apologies for posting this here in the dev section. I can not find a "delete" option either.
Fresh 3.5.0.1 with the new charging mod kernals is super fast and amazing battery like.
Swyped with my Evo 4g
Mikfroyo. flash it. You won't regret it.

Thanks I am grabbing vaelpak 3.0 now, i'll have to add fresh to my list. Perfect rom at the moment for me has tethering, wifi, and reads HDMI.
Virus airbourne 5.1 with sense flashed on it.

You have got to try Myn's warm. It's got the stock feel with special tweaks to the system, mods, and themes. It's by far my fav. I even put my wifes phone on it. Im also using Calkulin's newest kernel. It has added the trickle charge feature. Also now when I take the phone off charge it doesnt loose percentage like before. I have made calls up to 10 minutes right after taking off charge and not dropped one percent! It can be used with many roms. Back to Myn. It's very fast and snappy.
I tried every sense rom out there and could not find one that didnt have some issue like lag or forceclose issues except Myn. It's frickin awesome.
This one W/O a doubt for a Daily Driver

I have tried many a ROM, and ricsims is the best by far. With all the others, while they would seemingly would work great at first, problems would start to arise the longer I used them, e.g., lagging, features not working, FCs, etc.
Ricsims ROM is rock solid, frees up internal memory, extremely smooth/fast, and is totally reliable as a daily driver ROM.
And I forgot to mention: The battery life with latest 3.70 build w/ HTC #15 kernel is amazing. I have Seido 3500 battery, can go 2 to 3 days w/o recharging, and I use the shiat out of my phone.
Fresh all the way.

[Q] Best ROM with good battery, speed, and 4G.

i have been trying to find which is the best ROM for my evo with good battery, 4g, and fast(responsive). i obviously also want it to look good. whats everyone got?
Well just to let you know A**holes are gonna tell u wrong place and all that jazz.
But all roms to my knowledge have 4g except MIUI and ports from other devices.
Battery life from my experience varies from phone to phone, kernels play into battery life as well but again they vary from phone to phone. As for speed i think cm 6.1.2 is fast than cm7 thats just my opinion Salvage mod is great on everything for me but as for sense roms mikfroyo is very smooth and fast
i personally love salvage mod for aosp and Eternal Prophecy for Sense
eternal prophecy updates quickly and often so very few bugs and is optimized whenever something new is released. the kernel does play a huge part but for the most part i only worry about the kernel for aosp, as EP comes with 4.3.4 from netarchy. after that its changing your sync settings, display, if you decide to use setcpu(i do).
also my original evo battery has 1.5x the life of my replacement evo battery(i have both, my first evo broke and they only wanted the phone and let me keep everything else), hell if i can understand why
I say cm 7 amazing battery life, two hours off the charger and I'm still at 97% or so, its amazing try it out, but the GPS didn't want to work, there is a fix just download msl reader while on sense rom get the code dial ##gprsclrx# enter the code, let it reboot and flash to cm it seems to be working now for me

Sense base, I would have to run with Caulkin 1.8 with a kernal flashed on top. Works wonders for my evo
Cm 6.1.2 with SZ kernel. Battery is amazing. Very fast. And everyrhing works without issue. Use it about 3 weeks. And its the best rom for me.

I've had the best battery life with Fresh 3.5.0.1
As far as how fast the rom is, CM7. But the battery isn't as great, and the 4G reception seems about %20 worse than with a Sense rom. MIUI has good features (the music player with lyrics is my favorite) but to me it resembles too much like iOS and too little like Android (and I bought Android for a reason yaknow)
And like others have said, it does differentiate with each unique device
General consensus is usually:
Fastest ROM: CM7
Best Battery life: Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo
must be tough to do some research on your own and YES im that asshole
WRONG FREAKING SECTION ! isi t really that dam tough to post a [Q] in the Q&A or even the general section .. hell 3 or 4 of these type questions pop up weekly in the general section .
nm
10char
For speed: most ppl say CM7, but CM 6.1.2 takes the cake.
For battery: Either Myn's Warm 2.2 or the latest build of MIUI.
(i haven't tested Myn's excessively, but it seems great)
The only caveat is that MIUI does not have 4g, but is updated weekly and plans to incorporate it are underway, being that the devs just switched to a Gingerbread base, and the ROM has been varying from build to build. I use MIUI as a daily driver, because the skin is better looking and more functional than sense, and as fast as an AOSP ROM.

Myn's is the only ROM I get outstanding battery life with (my hardware must suck). And if I use any other Kernel's than stock, battery life is horrendous.
I thought this was a ROM with the best battery whats going on here? I'm confused..

[Q] New to the Dinc. Need Advice?

I'm an og droid user but just picked up a Dinc for my fiance. She loves the thing but hates the 10 hour (9 hours of that is idle?) battery life.
Last night, I went ahead and rooted it and removed most of the verizon crap-ware and then adjusted her sync settings to hopefully improve her battery life. I also did a battery stat reset.
She loves it as-is so flashing roms is out of the question. I don't have time/she doesn't have the patience for me to flash roms and fix problems that arise. With that being said I would like to explore the other back-end options.
Now, keeping in mind, this dinc is completely stock. Stock sense, stock kernel, stock radio, etc. I've been advised to replace the stock radio with one from Doug Piston. I was told to install the 04.08 version for the EVO. I just want to clarify that this will work for the Dinc running stock froyo sense? Also, if someone could tell me exactly what this does? Is the main benefit better battery life? Or something else? Also, if this is not the correct radio I should install, which is?
My second question is in regard to a better kernel. As stated above, I am stock and will remain on stock sense. What are some good proven kernels that will work on stock sense. Performance on the device is fine, so I'm not worried about that. I'm only looking for a kernel that will boost battery life. I looked around here but I couldn't determine which of these, if any would work on a stock Dinc or if they were just for custom roms?
Anyway, that's all. Thanks in advance for any help on this!
Here is a link to all the different kernels that are available for the Inc. It will say if it works with AOSP or Sense. Just take a look through them and see which one would work the best for what you want. Some will overclock, some will underclock, etc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866736
Whoops didn't notice you had that link already. Some popular ones are incredikernel and heyitslou. I know with incredikernel I was getting good battery life but also was with different ROM not sense.
I have installed a radio on my Inc, been quite fine for the last few weeks as well. From my understanding, the radio may or may not improve gps lock and/or your phone's signal strength depending. This is hit or miss, not everyone notices a stark improvement in both or either category. As such, if you already have poor signal in your area it may not improve your signal therefore it has no effect on battery life.
Someone more knowledgeable in that area please correct me.
You can try whichever radio you desire, I recall many people using 4/08 or the 11/19. Personal preferences aside, your improved battery life depends on how much signal your phone reports that it is receiving.
I have used the heyitslou kernels and have loved the battery life I got with it. I have also upgraded my battery to the 3500mA battery. This did wonders
incredikernel w/ smartass + CM7 and never look back...i know you like the ROM but i think stock sense is what drains the battery the most.
I've had good luck with Lou's kernel running a sense rom.
may want to try Virtuous v3.2.0 its a good stock rom with some clean-up done.

Synergy rom

How to get better battery life with synergy

2 Days with what kind of use? I don't have an extended battery and as long as I didn't used the phone for anything other than a phone the battery was pretty good. If I tried to do anything that needed the display open...internet, angry birds, whatever....it wouldn't last an hour. Didn't matter whether I had auto brightness set or not. Went to San Antonio over the weekend turned the brightness all the way down on the plane (at night) and it still didn't last an hour. Had to use my wife's Epic! I used hers for an hour doing the same thing and only lost 10%. I'm currently attempting EnergyROM...so far it doesn't seem any better just using the kernel it comes with. Sorry I'm no help, I gave up on Synergy.
I wanna know too !
I ran Synergy for a while and achieved excellent battery life. But, synergy is becoming outdated and not being currently developed. If you like synergy, strongly recommend switching to MikG 2.61, its a 2.1 + 3.0 sense rom. Definitely a superior rom thats updated and development ongoing. Battery life is better, and rom is faster and much smoother. Not bashing synergy, both roms are personal choice, but try MikG.

I will second this. I had a few minor problems with Synergy, including battery life, not horrible battery life, but worse than most roms. MikG is basically the exact same rom, and runs a lot smoother.
Ok where can i find MikG. And do i have to update to amon RA root method.

Amon RA is not a root method, it's a recovery. And no, you don't have to use Amon, clockwork works just fine.

[Q] Your favorite daily ROM?

hi evo owners, my girlfriend has an evo 4g and she is always complaining about how slow it is and how fast her battery drains. (she's a pretty heavy user)
so i come to you guys for help..
which ROMs are you running that are showing the best battery life i can get out this thing and are they stable for day to day use. (being as its not my phone and she knows nothing about rooting. i wont be able to follow updates as ofter as i do on my GSII)
Im just looking for a great stable build with the best battery battery life.
any and all input is really appreciated, thanks
I am using MokeeOS, right now. pretty much everything is working and getting good battery life. Based on gingerbread. see the forum below...

Also used MIUI 2.3.2 b1 based on gingerbread. See the thread below.

Swagged out stock is a clean fast Sense 1.0 rom that i've been using for months. There's a lot you can customize so you can get some better battery life. In general, the stock battery is what it is.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258932
I like any of the sense 1.0 roms for quickness, battery and responsiveness. Classic rom, Digital Karma, Nitrous. U use Set CPU and make a profile for screen off. Use power save governor if kernel allows so while locked it will only run at lowest speed. This is helpful on any from though. Hope this helps.
I feel more like I do now then I did then.
I've been jumping back in and forth with JMZ's CM9 ROM and Cyanogenmod's CM7. I never had a Sense phone, so this was my first. After being with the OG Samsung Moment for about 3 years, until the developers fled, I was so used the classic UI. When I was introduced to Sense, I never stuck on to me. Luckily, I barely got this phone this year, meaning most CM7 ROMs were stable with ICS at hand. If you a Sense guy, I would recommend the Classic ROM or the Nitrous ROM. Nitrous gives more of the original Sense experience, but the Classic ROM gives really impressive battery life. It has a lot of available tweaks to play with. My ONLY problem with the ROM is the boot sound LMAO. I never thought i could hear my phone be that loud.
I, too, am running jmz unofficial cm9, & it's great for me but maybe not for her. The issue with battery life, however, is not the ROM; it's more likely the screen & radios that are killing it. My solution has been two-part: using Juice Defender to customize data activity, & larger aftermarket batteries (ChiChiTec - Amazon).
ive been using most of decks roms lately, but if i had to choose a reliable rom it would be synergy. its a little outdated but everything works.
Digitalkarma v7 fast smooth and everything works
