Best Rosie

Hello,
A new Rosie has been released by Drizzy. It is "only for none Odex Hero", not sure what that means.
The apk here: http://drop.io/ntgz8b3
I have deleted my own Rosie.apk and Rosie.odex, uploaded that Rosie.apk: didn't work (have stock android home screen)
Ran
#dexopt-wrapper /system/app/Rosie.apk /system/app/Rosie.odex
Then I pull the Rosie.apk removing the classes.dex file from it, and then push it back. Still not working.
What have I done wrong?
(Here is my Rosie odex version)

Regarding that post from jubeh it seems this version is not compatible with the HTC Framework we have on roms floating around (already too old ...)

how would u go about pushing the new rosie in via terminal???
i can't seem to get the commands right

None odex hero roms to me points to it not being actually for the hero.

i just pushed it onto my dream using a non odex'd hero rom... it has alittle bit of any initial lag.. but once you get through the first 1-2min after a reboot it is very smooth...

its not nice to steal tsk tsk tsk,but i think the way he worded may mean differently for other ppl. some say he is stealing, but i think he is showing what he is trying to push n asking for help.

What he means, is thts his odex file for the Rosie.apk u provided. He wants ppl to check it n c if somethin is wrong.

his odex from his phone , he must to copy it

Where to get .apks besides the market???

Im currently developing a theme and I need the gmail.apk so I can change it's icon. Anyone know where I can get this .apk or just apk in general that are from a ligit source?

any and every rom here in sapphire will have it (except for cyanogen due to the c&D he got).... extract it from there.....

Copy of JVB MyFiles.apk

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to run a copy of the JVB Gungerbread's MyFiles.apk on JPY Froyo? I like the way it displays the icons of the files and makes sorting files so much easier.
If anyone has tried it, how did you get on with it? And also if someone can extract the myfiles.apk file from their system/app directory on a deodexed JVB and post it, I'd love to give it a try.
Had to revert back to JPY due to ridiculous battery drain on JVB

Samsung Stock mms.apk themed to CM9!!!

hey ppl,I tried to use the cm9 mms app on my stock rom,after googlin it seems that it wont work..so i decided to theme the stock mms.apk to look like cm9(well not exactly )
I used the resource files from galaxy nexus dump,and i should say that i used 2 png's from master vertumus ics theme..so the credit goes to him too..
INSTALLATION:
place the mms.apk in system/app...fix permissions and reboot..
Note:i have tested it in LP3,I think it'll work in other roms too..

When I slide the conversation to the left or right, instead of getting "Call" or "Message" I get these weird strings (attached)

Well that looks weird...which rom are u in mate?? try clearing dalvik in recovery..

I'm on my own ROM. I wiped dalvik already, I even tried re-odexing the app, not that that would make a difference.
It's based on LP3 -- so it SHOULD be compatible.

attach your roms mms.apk ill theme it and lets see if that solves this,cuz am on wanam LP3 rom and it works perfectly..

I'm just uploading the odexed apk. The source files aren't there but you should be able to change the files in drawable-hdpi without too much trouble. Let me know if you need it de-odexed so you can actually decompile it

i wont be needing deodexed apk, as i didn't play with the xml and jar files..simple replace of png's..anyway while i was replacing your mms.apk i found out that certain png of yours were 9.png in mine..so i didn't replace them,may be that was the problem..lets see if this works..

Hope u're not sleepy atm , Im still waiting for this mod with holo background

sorry mate,i wasn't successful in implementing it...only static colors can be set for background(hex code)..

CM9 MMS
Is there a way to take the actual CM9 mms.apk and actually replace the existing mms.apk? I'm using MysticPride's v.18 Rom and the MMS is themed in a way that I am not fond of. I'd like the stock MMS or if possible that of the latest CM9 Nightlies. Any response is greatly appreciated.

Here is the deal cm9,ASOP apps wont work on Samsung stock rom and vice verse cuz they have different framework dependencies..but dev's have found a way to port the stock app's but that's on GB,i don't know if it could be implemented to ICS

Thanks for your response. I have actually gone way overboard now for the past three days and have come pretty far getting things the way I wanted. I just ended up installing a different Rom and adding the bootanimation from Mystic along with the latest N.E.A.K. Kernel with overclocking and now my phone is sick and has the stock SMS. The only thing I didn't like about the Mystic SMS was the colors (Anal) I know! The SMS from CM9 is pretty cool in my opinion only because it shows the contact image within the texting screen rather than just as a thread. Whatever though, Thanks for your response and time. I have really learned a lot on here in the past couple days. Very appealing new hobby this Android Development...

I have aosp mms implemented into my rom so its possible. But its a hassle.

[NOOB] My First Mod

Hello all,
after a rather once-in-a-blue-moon stint at xda, I was able to finally get going on a mod of my own! Well, it is just a few change of colors in an app.
I am using a GT-S6102 running stock ROM and Compact kernel by Deadly.
Also, a BIG thanks to Deadly for taking the time to go through my stupid questions, and answering them.

I know it isn't much, guessing by the standards of the people around here - but I though it would be good for noobs like me, and so here I am!
WHAT I DID
Nothing much. I did the following:
Pull out the Mms.apk and Mms.odex from /system/app/
Deodex the application using baksmali and smali
add classes.dex into the apk with 7zip
decompile the apk with apktool
make a few changes to the images (and hence the look of the app)
package it back
install it with adb, by pushing it to /system/app/ after removing the original apk and odex from /system/app/
AND A QUESTION, PLEASE!
I tried to find a complete tutorial from A to Z for this process, but didn't find anything that was COMPLETE and SELF-SUFFICIENT (i.e. Doesn't get away with partial information).
Is it a good idea to make one here, or has everyone had enough of those tuts? Please post your comments in the thread.
And for those interested, here is the modified apk.
