[Q] I cannot flash radio now! - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have rooted and ship s-off, and I have flashed radio before. But I cannot do it now! When I do it, it comes back with " remote denies". what should I do?

Don't you need eng S off to flash radios?

Ship S-off does not work? I thought it was just different kind of s-off.

I have a problem

Soooo. I've had my HTC desire (gsm) for about a year. I rooted it. Put new roms on it. Flashed it hundreds of times. But I got bored. So I thought is go back to stock HTC 2.3 sense.
Wrong.....
Now no matter what I try I can re-root it.
I've tried alpharevx.
I've tried apps.
I've tried fastboot.
I've tried hboot.
And a few other I can't even remember.
Sooooo. My question is this. How do I root a phone that doesn't want to be rooted and only wants to run stock 2.3
Any help greatly received.
Regards

Hmm revolutionary should work, as far as i know its the only 1 that can s-off hboot 1.02.0001
How r u using revolutionary? is ur phone booted up and usb bugging enabled? dont mean to offend u with those silly questions lol its just strange it dont work. Now saying that, maybe revolutionary does'nt work on all devices, i dont know. im only guessing. also i know that theres a few other programs that r supposed to do the job like SuperOneClick and there mite be one or 2 others but i really cant tell u if they work or not or if they cause problems, i really dont know.
Try unrEVOked_3.20…just 3.20!

I tried revolutionary from a clean install with usb debugging enabled. I've tried super one click
Universal androot.
z4root.
And if I remember one more
Even the Htcdev boot unlocker.
Still nothing works.

I have also done this. I downloaded alpharev.iso and made my disk.
Booted up the disk but the software can't read any info from my phone.

Man, keep your advise to yourself... seriously.
via xda app
I did it in the same order as you are trying now. First got stock 2.3 and then wanted root.
I remember it was easy. I just googled for a how to and I don't even think it was on xda, just a random page. I had the same hboot, gsm.
With your hboot ver revolutionary is the only option. Period.
Revolutionary only gives SOFF and allows you to install recovery.
You have to flash the su zip seperately to get root - superuser
One simple thing to try would be to change the computer, install hboot drivers and try revolutionary again.
Hope this helps.

Huh?........., can you explain what you mean? English is not my first language, but I am not dumb. In fact I got scholarship . I tried unrooting via SuperOneClick before and it works, so I'm just helping.
ok.
so ive now tried unrevoked 3.2
still not rooting
hmmm
so heres my plan
1) ruu stock 2.2
2)try as many different root gadgets i can get my hands on
3) if no luck try on mac instead of pc
4)if no luck. im buying an iphone. . . . . .grrrr

don't have time to send link now but its easy and can be done via fastboot or hboot. there is a threade on the various radios in the developers section, just search there. I suggest the latest radio ending in .19, but your experience may differ

I see this ROM contains a specific BASEBAND-Version (RADIO) in name. Maybe your DHD does not have this BSABAND-version. And my experience is that an ROM-update (FLASH) does not change your BASBAND-version. This version will be changed by a separate installation process. So if you have an unlocked bootloader check your BASEBAND-Version (RADIO) in your system settings.

Ok, so you are S-OFF...what are you flashing a RUU? do you want to go back to stock? You can just change your custom rom for another one.

ok, you shouldn't have problems with the RUU if you are S-OFF, but maybe you lost superCID and that is failing. Try flashing a different WWE RUU Sense 3.0 and see what happens.
Are there any other prerequisites that I need to make sure of such as the latest version of HTC sync or anything like that?

Why dont you check it yourself. Just reboot to bootloader and take note of bootloader info. If it written " ace pvt eng/ship s-off" then you are s-off. Better confirm it to avoid problems that may occur during ruu..
