Seriously? Another thread asking for best rom?! Its all subjective, you won't get a one size fits all answer.. Try them yourself.

i was just like you 2-3weeks ago looking for a stock gingerbread rom. but infact there's a lot of rom came from stock gingerbread with a lot of enhancement which also offers better than the stock. but again, you have to try it yourself and see what rom will fit what you really want.
i have tried, oxygen, gingersense, gingerfun, rcmix, acesmod007 and now i'm on Cool3D Sense.
So far, I'm satisfied with cool3d sense with sense 3.0. way better than the stock with just 2.1. it's fast and stable.
I hope this will help:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045824 is also nice and has D2EXT.
Can't recommend this stock rom enough, haven't added the A2SD feature myself and so its pretty much stock but with root. Really stable, fast, quick to flash and set up and great battery life.

I find that Kernels are a but confusing.I would like to know of a good sense kernel for Wildfire rom.And where to download the Kernels.I have downloaded nFinity mc4 just don't know if it is a sense kernel or not as I'm putting together my own rom. Thanks for your time.
(Edit All Good Problem Solved.)
Better stick with that kernel, or the one from cm7 nightly ( the one in my signature ), as HTC Kernels don't allow overclock. ( correct me if I'm wrong )
I am using kernel nFinity mc4 to HTC Wildfire Froyo 2.2.1 stock rom and use setCPU for OC to 768 MHz (480MHz min. and 691MHz max) Kernel good works.

You are using the Kernel not the rom...
But nvm what I said, as that Kernel has some bugs ( cannot connect to wireless hotspots ) + battery drains quite fast.
Nevertheless kernel nFinity mc4 is the one I use now and its the best so far ( in my opinion ) It allows OC and seems quite easy on the battery.
Currently on Oxygen 2.1.6, feel like trying a new ROM. But can't make up my mind, with so many to choose from (MIUI, redux, gingervillain, cyanogenmod, leedroid, etc.)
why...
don't...
you...

search...
function?
Seriously people, search! There are about a million threads asking "what is the best ROM?"

I have bored in stock rom.
So i want to use custom rom.
What is the best custom rom for desire?
What's best for some may not be the best for you. So try a couple. And it wouldn't hurt to use search next time. You wouldn't believe how many search results the strings "best, rom, stable, fast, recommended" would give you.

What's the best ROM? Depends on what you like, so try them ALL.
CyanogenMOD7 - AOSP fast and small
dGB - Pure AOSP and VERY VERY Fast
Oxygen - Pure AOSP faster than CM7 but slower than dGB
Runnymede AIO Special Edition - Very fast for a sense 3.5 ROM, looks nice too!
MIUI - Heard it's fast, never tried it
^ Those are my favorite, you can also consider flashing a different HBOOT to increase the internal space in /data, but that's a different story.
Hi, I'm looking for a fast and stable Sense 1.9 ROM. I've tried SuperNova Xtreme and An-Droid. So far An-Droid seems a little snappier overall, so I'm thinking of settling with this one. Does anyone know of any other fast and stable Sense 1.9 ROMs that are worth checking out?

Go with An-Droid if you like speed. If you want lots of wasted empty space go with Supernova. There problem solved.
There are a few others that are close to stock 1.9 but imho an-droid is the fastest.
The one in my signature is the fastest I've found. If you find a faster one, let me know...
Erklat, please don't take part in these threads, if they are of no interest to you.
Some of us find them useful...
Look for revolution like sudcoke or choose supernova

I would suggest trying a 2.1 + 3.0 ROM like Alex-V 1.8. IMO they are better then the ROM 1.9

I was on Project X for a while, had a lot of issues. Probably had a bad flash. Most notably my camera/camcorder was.. buggy to say the least. Only worked about 5% of the time. I returned to stock last night and it's amazing how much smoother my phone is. Camera works perfectly. It's like having a brand new phone all over again.
But I am wondering what kind of mods, if any, are available to me at this point? I know most of them require a custom ROM or come with custom ROMS. Just wondering if there are mods available to me if I stay stock?
Most of the touchwiz Roms are based on stock roms with added mods. So whatever mods are included in let's say.. Project X. They'll work perfectly fine in fresh stock Roms. Look in the themes and apps section or look in the OP of the custom Roms. It has links to most mods.
