I get repeated android.process.media force closes when running pure AOSP ROM's, like CM7 nightlies and TSM Pool Party. I do not get them on MIUI, or Sense-based ROM's such as Newt's Incredible 3D. Any ideas? Would more information be of any help? Let me know, I really miss Pool Party as my daily driver. Fortunately I'm running Boot Manager so I'm able to easily boot different ROM's if needed. Please help! 100 internets to whomever helps resolve this!

and...look for what? Sorry to be all noobarific, but I'm not exactly 100% on md5 sums and whatnot...lol.
Not to be picky, but MIUI is also an AOSP. And md5 is a verification check. Whatever number is posted for the file should match exactly to the md5 check on the file you are pushing.
Sorry I can't help with your original problem. . .

md5 is a 128 bit digital signature that changes if anything about the file is changed. Translation: if your download is corrupt, the sums will be different, and if it is an exact copy the md5 sums will match. So, he was asking if your download was good by asking you to compare the md5 sums.
Thanks Art, that makes sense. I'll check that today post-coffee.

I had this problem on the TSM rom. I don't recall on CM7 or MIUI. But a Re-flash with full wipe solved the issue
I would download alogcat from the market and save the log file. Make sure you upload the alogcat file to the developer.
Cyanogen Mod Settings > Application > use internal storage
I checked it and I had that problem and problem when away when it was unchecked. I am a G2x but I think its just some phones dont like it or something, it swaps the SD and phone internal storage.

Okay, so I was trying to upgrade to the latest nightly for my mother, since she loves gingerbread now. So here is my issue, I know that I need clockwork mod 3.0 or higher to get the nightlies to work, I have gotten #14 to install with the old recovery she has on there now. But when I try to update the recovery it will either not upgrade or revert back to 2.5 upon reboot. For example:
If I try using fastboot to install, I get an error. I don't remember exact error, but its a long the lines of it can't install.
If I try using the PB31IMG.zip method, but it just detects the zip and wont install or anything.
If I install the recovery via the recovery, it will work for the one time it loads, then upon reboot it reverts to old one.
I tried installing the newest nightly with the old recovery, but it will just load and then soft boot and repeat forever till I pull battery.
I rooted the phone with the unrevokr root and recovery method, so I don't know if that has anything to do with my problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

Before you flash a new recovery with ROM Manager go into ROM manager settings and check the box to erase the old recovery before flashing the new one.
Then scroll to the bottom of the main ROM Manager menu and select all clockworkmod recoveries. Flash 3.0.0.8 since it has fixes for 3.0.0.5 issues.

Hey guys
I've been trying to flash Incubus's new Sense 3.0 GB ROM, and I've been having some issues...
I've done a full data/cache wipe and a dalvik cache wipe, with both CWMR 3.0.0.8 and 3.0.0.7, and all it does is boot to the white 'HTC Incredible' and it's stuck there. I've tried flashing from AOSP 2.3.3 ROMs (both Cyanogen 7, The Ultimate Droid 3, and MIUI) and the leaked Sense 1.0 ROM and still nothing.
The longest I've waited at this screen is 30 minutes. Should I try using CWMR 2.5 or what?
Thanks,

It's gotta be something in the framework if your accounts aren't showing in Sync mate.
Someone else may have a less drastic solution, but I'd reflash, and ensure you flash the GApps package straight after you flash the ROM. No reboots or wipes of any kind in between. Then do a factory reset after both and see how you go
Some of us Inc2 owners r having issues with JB booting and/or extreme lag(cpu maxed out).
this is asking alot. could someone post up a BACKUP from twrp(preferred) or cwm recovery of a recent cm10 from aero of dkstunna? Preferable - a clean flash with gapps and have it boot, but not setup up gmail stuff. don't want your personal stuff. then do a backup and post it up if possible. I know this time consuming and a lot to ask for but there will b many thanks and might solve our problems.

Hi there!
I have had an s3 for a few days now and love it!.
Any TW rom and my camera works just fantastic.
Any cm10/aokp/miui/etc rom and I just cant use the camera no matter what app I use to try it, whether it be the built in app or camera360/etc.
Driving me nuts and would love someone to help me. Anyway research I have done hasnt told me what I'm doing wrong.
I wipe cache/dalvik/factory reset/system before each rom. I have tried different kernels but nothing has helped.
Any gurus out there have any ideas on what I can do to fix this?
Your install process would be and please link the files you are flashing... I'll try and help you. I've seen a few people mention this the past couple days.
The most recent I tried to flash was Illusion v1.1.18 - (d2tmo, d2att & d2vzw) - 1|18|13 from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037028
I downloaded Illusion-v1.1.18-d2tmo.zip and gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.
I went into recovery which is twrp and the most recent version. I installed it with the goo.im app.
When in recovery I did:
1) Factory Wipe
2) Wipe Cache
3) Wipe Dalvik
4) Wipe System
I would then click Install and select the rom file, and after it succesfully flashed I would then flash the gapps file. All were successful.
I would then reboot and the rom would boot up fine. I setup my google account and all that then for the heck of it I would reboot.
I then would try the camera app and it would complain that it couldnt connect to the camera basically. I went into the play store and tried a free version of camera 360, puddle camera, etc and all would not work.
I went back into recovery, wiped cache and dalvik again, hopped on one foot, faced east, and clicked my heels together. Upon reboot the camera does not work.
I have wiped all that and tried to install [Kernel][JB] Leankernel: Minimalistic Kernel for D2TMO/D2ATT (AOSP) v2.3 [1/17/13] which flashed fine. Upon reboot I could change voltages to undervolt, mess with governors but cameras still do not work.
I have a backup of two TW roms (one stock) and both of the those roms work beautifully with whatever camera I try, including the built in/stock camera.
I hoped I didn't leave out something. If there is something I missed than I'm an idiot because it seems like I am really missing something.
Thanks for your help.
I don't see any reason your steps lead to that, the exact steps I take every time to flash. I'm researching but in the mean time, go to app manager and wipe cache and data from gallery... Are you using the same Gapps over and over on each try? Might wanna try a different set.

I just force stopped on gallery, wiped cache/data, rebooted, and I tried the camera only to get the same message.

I have downloaded this gapps twice for the last rom http://goo.im/devs/itsmikeramsay/gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip.
For the miui rom there was a gapps that was specific to miui and had miui in the name. The miui rom's camera didnt work.
I'll look for a different gapps if that might be the problem but since I have tried a couple roms and a few different gapps I feel that might not be the issue.
I still will give it another try though. Just have to find another gapps to try.

Hey thanks again for your help. I ended up falling asleep but installed Wicked V6 (tw based rom) and liking it enough that I will wait on a aokp/cm10.x rom until I get up the motivation to try again.
I'm sure I'll get an itch for a different rom in about a week though

All good, just hope the thread I pointed to will work out once you do want to give it another go.

I backed up Wicked and loaded up my original rom that I wanted to try.
The fix in the said thread fixed me right up, camera works fine.
All this trouble because of one 350ish kb file
Thanks for checking on my issue.
