[Q] Bluetooth Stereo Issue - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

http://www.amazon.com/BlackBerry-Remote-Stereo-Bluetooth-Gateway/dp/B00170KUM0
I use this Blackberry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway to stream music to my car stereo. I've used it with an HTC EVO, Droid X, and Droid X2 with no problems.
I just upgraded to the Galaxy S2 EPIC 4g Touch and it will not find the adapter.
The Stereo Gateway goes into pairing mode for 30sec. when you first turn it on, and the S2 does not find it when I turn on bluetooth and search for devices.
I've tried it on my other devices with no problems, I've re-paired the stereo gateway with a brand new LG Optimus S, with no problems. I know that the Stereo Gateway is functioning.
I am guessing that because the S2 is equipped with the Bluetooth 3.0 specifications that this would be the cause of the problem, BUT i thought it was supposed to be backwards compatible with older devices.
Anyone have any input or can help me?

I use the phone which is paired to my Scala Rider helmet sound system with the stereo working fine. The Scala system is Bluetooth 2.1. My phone actually works better with my Scala than both my old Gingerbread phone and my iPod touch. Both of those ALWAYS had to be manually connected and they'd both occasionally lose the connection from time to time. With my Ep4gt, it ALWAYS automatically connects when both devices are on, and its never dropped the connection.
Is there a way to update your car stereo?

Does anyone know of anything that I can replace the Blackberry Stereo Gateway with? It needs to be removable and connect to a 3.5 headphone plug.

I use my Epic 4G Touch with my Blackberry Stereo Gateway. Only thing I had to do different is when I first paired it I had to do a manual scan on my phone. On my EVO as soon as I would start my car my EVO would prompt me that the Gateway was try to pair with my phone.
Edit: You know if I remember correctly it seem like it took forever for it to find it the first time I searched for the adapter, but it did eventually pair.

Sprint TP2 and AutoA2DP Wireless Stereo?

I was using this awesome little app with my TP1 and it worked great with my car audio (Pioneer - DEH-9800BT). Since I got the TP2 I've been trying to get A2DP Wireless Stereo to setup automatically when the phone is paired but doesn't seem to work. I love the new bluetooth app htc has now. it makes everything work great w/ my car auto. I'm even able to use voice command with it through the car audio/mic
My only problem is that im not able to get the A2DP Wireless Stereo to work to sync automatically.
Does anyone know if there is another app like this that woks w/ the TP2
Thanks

[Q] Bluetooth Car Stereo

For now, I'm just looking for recommendations on what bluetooth head unit works good. I'm going to go shopping this weekend.
But feel free to post your happy/unhappy stories/reviews about bluetooth head units with the Captivate.
Thanks.
FWIW Only slightly related: my Ghetto setup with the MOTOROKR T505 worked good with Captivate, fast handshake as long as bluetooth left on all the time with both devices. But I now have decided I need native integration into an aftermarket stereo.
I have an older Pioneer and the A2DP works great for streaming music, system sounds, navigation, etcs.
Calling on the telephone works great, no issues here.
There are two single DIN units out for this year:

I have last years model of the P6200BT

I'm going to try mine on my Sony BT2500 and I'll post back the results when I get a chance.
This is what I am using, and I get full features from mine.
Music controls on handset or deck both work (and remote).
Caller ID/Missed Call/Call log scrollable menu on deck screen.
BT phone audio through speakers with included in car mic.
Full audio volume control.
Charging from USB port (with regular USB cable, some companies like Alpine you need their specific cable) and thumb drive play capability.
3.5 aux jack

FH-P8000BT; Voice Dial
Has someone tried the Pioneer FH-P8000BT? I uderstand it's a nice option but don't know if it works ok with Galaxy S's.
Also, is any of the head units mentioned above able to dial by voice? Is it functional?
Thanks all who responded. That's good to know there's a few good options.
happy shopping to me!
I have mine paired to my Kenwood kdc-x993. Contacts automactically downloads to the radio and you can store 7 contacts for speed dialing. Supports a2dp, voice recognition dialing and SMS (haven't test that yet).

I have had the Pioneer FH-P8000BT for a year or so. I am transitioning from a Zune, and have found the BT audio to be good on the Captivate, and the utit itself matches the phone perfectly. I haven't played with calling too much, but it worked fine on a couple of WM phones that i used. It has a USB out in the back, but I have not yet tried plugging it in with a micro USB (I'm waiting for a right angle micro-USB cable so that its a little more low-pro).

[Q] BlueTooth & Cars

I've tried to connect my phone via BT to two different cars and have no luck. It will scan for devices but won't find them at all. Does this happen to anyone else with the SIII? Strangely enough, it finds and connects to my JamBox is just fine.
What ROM are u on ? Stock or rooted?
What kind of cars I know my Audi A8 will connect but I always have to connect manually and enter the 1234 paswrd.

Still rocking the stock and unrooted for the phone. I tried on a Lexus GS and a Scion xB but no results show up. How do you connect manually? I should try that
Phone calls and bluetooth streaming works fine in my 2009 Mazda 6 (GT, no navigation). My phone is stock + root.
I use Slacker Radio everyday, launched by Automateit Pro when the connection to my car is established.
IIRC, I had to input a PIN on my phone, then in my car to do the pairing, and after that, I had to connect the phone manually to the stereo, but only once. After that, it's automatic when I start the car. Watch out for the "Only visible to paired devices" setting on your phone. It must not be checked.
I too have major issues with bluetooth, my phone connects whenever it feels like. I had to flash to cm9 to be able to listen to music in my G37. No problems in my other car (it has aftermaket pioneer system).
PS Just flashed the CM10 since they finally figured out A2DP, but the image is broken. (Note to myself: "Read the thread before flashing") Will wait for the next nightly build.
Nissan's always had a horrid BT stack in it. I'm in an 09 Altima and BT just sucks. I know it's not the phone as I've tried multiple phones from multiple vendors and they all suck. Nissan won't fix it either.
[Q] Bluetooth issue with Cars
I have AKOP Rom and KT Kernel. My bluetooth connectin to Mazda Cx-5 is fine. However, the problem I have is a lot of phone information (Song title, Battery Status) I used to have on stock, now are gone. Previously, I can fast foward or Rewind a song, also, once BT is connected, the default music player will start automatically
Can someone suggest a BT manager app which can change and enhance BT setting?
I have a 2009 Mercedes B200. My phone connects to the car just fine, but no sound comes from the speakers and no sound goes into the microphone. Same thing with my car and the HTC One X, although that was fixed with a stock ROM update. Bluetooth on cars can be very hit and miss.

iphone bluetooth receiver with apt-x

i have a mini cooper, and it supports Iphone docking. it also supports msc drivers, but with newer android phones, MSC isn't really available.
anyway, i just realized there are devices that basically (Bluewave Bluetooth Audio Receiver) that emulate the iphone, but gets it's signal via bluetooth. so i can pair my phone to it, which would in turn relay the audio to my car...and hopefully, my car would think it's an iphone, and all the corresponding features would still work.
has anyone had any experience with these? would i be able to control my phone audio via my car's control? would the headset display song titles?
anyonw know one that support apt-x?

[Q] Most compatable Bluetooth a2dp adapter that can automatically connect to the S3?

I've switched from running stock, CM10, to AOKP and Liquid Smooth the results are all the same.
I have a belkin bluetooth adapter to add bluetooth to my car ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004CLYJ2I/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 [1] )
However, whenever I get in my car I have to toggle bluetooth on and off on my phone to get it to connect.
In my friends car he has a cheapo aftermarket stereo with bluetooth ( http://www.amazon.com/Dual-XML8100-Mechless-Receiver-Remote/dp/B002OR17LS/ref=pd_sim_cps_1 [2] with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PDR5O6/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 [3] )
When I tether my phone to his setup it connects automatically every time with no need to toggle anything!
I know its a minor inconvenience but since it works seemlessly on my friends car I know there must be an adapter out there that lets me automatically connect my phone when I enter my car. I guess its just a matter of finding a bluetooth chip the S3 is most compatable with?
So wise people of XDA, what Bluetooth a2dp adapter do you use and does it connect to your S3 automatically?
I'd be open to using an app that toggles my bluetooth off and on but searches have not turned up anything so far
Please note I don't care about the hands aspect I really just want to stream my music.
