I was getting a strong 3g connection but since partitioning my SD card it pretty much stays on 1x. Please help, I miss my xda at work lol

You can try to update your prl and profile if your on a sense ROM.
If your on a new ROM that could just be the signal your getting stock ROMs always display 3g even when its on 1x.
You could also try updating your radios.

I've searched for the answer to this question but no matter what I try I can't get the 4g to stop scanning and just connect. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated I have already tried flashing the radio and wimax and wiping after each but still can't get it to connect.

I rooted my Evo using unrevoked 3 but now I no longer have 3g except every once in a while it may load a page in the web browser after four or five minutes but usually it just says web page cannot be found I would like to retain root what do I do

What is she on and it never switches to what? If she hasn't updated her modem it will stay on 3g all the time. It is like this on every AOSP rom for our phone. Unless there is a theme that edits it out.
If speedtest says it's fine, it's fine.
It just switches from 4g to 3g all the time but I guess I'll have to live with it

Its how its suppose to work. H shows when cell data is accessed and when idle it shows 3g... Not sure why it bugs some people.

My gs3 has been getting bad reception lately. My gf's HTC 1x and my gs3 used to get about the same service inside my house where now I'm getting 1 bar when she gets 4. I've tried everything I can think of to get a better signal. Flashed modems, changed apns, flashed back to stock, tried build prop hacks, nothing helped. Could this be an antenna malfunction? Are there any hardware mods that may help? Maybe something I've looked over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just turned wifi off and went from none to 2 bars. But with the way my signal goes in and out it could just be coincidence........

You can flash them in twrp or cwm.
Its a hit or miss depending on your phone and area.

Didnt realize they had a new radio. Really wasn't expecting the new radio to help since I tried the rest with no success but it actually fixed my issue I'm getting about the same service as my gf. Thanks alot.

I recently downloaded the probam 4.3.1 t-mobile jellybean custom Rom. Everything is working fine except that I can never get 4g or H+. On stock I was always on 4g and never dropped down to 3g. Also when I had dandroid T-Mobile custom Rom I would be on H+. For some reason probam only allows me to get 3g or occasionally H. I have a Wind Samsung galaxy s3 SGH-T999V.

Download the speedtest.net app from Google play, run it and check the icon in the statusbar, does it switch to H or stay at 3g?

When I ran the speedtest.net it changed to H. Still not the 4g or H+ I'm looking for.
You won't get 4g. That's what T-Mobile roms show regardless of whether you're on H, or H+. Sounds like it's functioning normal to me.

Whoops hit the thanks button.
On custom roms like probam, the phone will switch to 3g if no data is being used and back to H when data is being used.
