How to: Install CWM (R800i, droid v 2.3.4)

Phone: Xperia play R800i
Android version: 2.3.4
Rooted: Yes (I have superuser on the phone)
Hey guys!
I'm trying to install:

By doing this:
Instructions For Locked Bootloader:
1- Download [Firmware] [GSM] R800i 4.0.2.A.0.58 EnhancedV2.

1b- You can Flash just the Baseband if you allready flashed [Firmware] [GSM] R800i 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced.

2 - Flash it using Flashtool.
3 - Root it using Flashtool or DooMLoRD Root ToolBox.

4 - Install ClockWorkMod.

5 - Enter Recovery and Clear Davilk Cache.
6 - Download Gin2JellyBean Rom And Flash it with ClockWorkMod.
7 - Reboot and play for a while.
8 - Reboot a second time and Enjoy!

(I don't know if I have have locked/unlocked bootloader, just picked one guide.)
So my problem is that I can't get CWM to work. Here's what I did (I have done everything before 4, ie I flashed the nr 1. file then the 1b file):
1- Install X-Parts from android market on my phone
2- Opened it, went to the install tab & pressed "install CWM".
3- Went to tools & clicked reboot.
4- Opened x-parts again & clicked tools, then "reboot to recovery".
5- It just reboots normally!?

There was a problem with the latest version of x parts don't know if they fixed it...try and look for an earlier version

Try pressing volume button when blue LED lights up with a vibration.

No, sorry, my issue is that it wont install no led no anything ive tried it mutiple times.

So you're saying that despite installing X-parts, your phone won't boot into recovery?
Which version of X parts did you use? I don't think the ones after version 5 work so it might be worth trying version 5

Yes, i used CWM version 5.0.2.7_r2 staock GB recovery and still nothing R800i .58 v2 enhanced just as this tutorial needs.

I don't know what the issue could be. It worked for me and others when using the Version 5 apk from the OP in the above mentioned thread.

My bootloader is locked still but this should still work i had it working on my previous stock rom r800at but now it wont work

Nvm i finally got it using v5 of the app instead of v7 idk why

Yes, but you don't need to wipe - just install without any Wipe, also Framework Remix...

got a root arc S today, e got superuser elite in , i got rom manager , rom toolbox pro ! e got x-parts too.
i can't just simply enter recover mode to instal rom , like i read in every post about instal rooms !
i press vol - , home , back , power off .
anyone help me, i need to do something on a pc like flash ?
i got a ICS 4.0.4 and 4.1.b.0.587 , lt15 i

You will enter CWM!

Go To xParts. Press "Install CWM on Your Phone" ---> select Yes. Wait... Than reboot and check...

I try to install the ROM following the instruction, but doesn't work, and I really don't know how. I've sirkay kernel and Xperia Ice Bean 4.2n. I try to flash another kernel, like Doomkernel and Arcknight, but nothing. I've Xperia LT15, and I select always in AROMA GXStyle of laucher and statusbar. What can I do?

1. Make 100% Sure You Have Root
2. Download xParts in Play Store
3. Start xParts select "install CWM" ---> Yes.
4. Turn Off Your Phone
5. Turn on Your Phone again LOL
6. Press Home Button all the time while booting
7. Look for Blue LED

You Have tried 3 Kernels all on ICS and you was before on. 587/ice bean??
Maybe flash. 587 and than advanced stock kernel by shubakar what: ) and try again

Hey Jader and Max,
Is there a way to try out all the launchers and status bars combinations, or do you need to keep reflashing the rom to choose different ones?
Or can someone recommend a good combination of fast/good looking launcher and status bar??

Nice rom... undoubtedly FASTEST I hv evr used.
I jst want u to add Titanium backup app + Rom control options (as we have in JJ Hybrid).
Also, does this rom support USB-OTG ??

Normally the usb hotsting function is determined by the kernel you use. The rom can simply have an integrated sys app that allows usb mounting and browsing, though even if not there are many free apps on the market that can do this easily. Doomkernel has the usb otg fucntions and so do some others though still with minor lacks of support like ntfs file systems ect.
by the way jader, what kernel do you reccomend fot usb hosting with ntf support for both usb and sd, also with swap or zram and other common tweaks?

i stuck on Sony Logo i follow the instruction....

same happened to me on my xperia arc. But later I found a SOLUTION in original thread, which worked for me.
1. Open the zip file in your pc
2. Go to System --apps
3. Delete some apps to free memory (I deleted 3D-Camera)
4. Now transfer this edited rom zip file to your sd card and flash in recovery
I hope it ll work ( dnt delete any file about which you are not sure)

Well, just delete some files in /system of the ROM.zip, like 3d cam....

After smooth install, I got stuck at the sony logo like others reported before. I cannot access cwm anymore, is there anyway to get it back (since BL is locked)?

Did you install the latest firmware and given advanced stock kernel by jader? btw how did u manage to install cmw recovery with a locked BL?
I'm running .587 firmware with jaders advanced stock kernel and everything works fine though i have an unlocked bootloader so everything is easier.
I guess u just have to flash another working rom.....just my opinion

My SIM toolkit seems lost, how can re-install it?

How to install?
Flash it using latest version of Flashtool (http://androxyde.github.com/index.html?1354286647000)
1. Download the firmware
2. Put the .ftf in <flashtool directory>/firmwares/
3. Run flashtool
4. Click flash or thunder icon
5. Flash mode (usually uses this)
6. Select from left panel the correct firmware
7. Check/Uncheck options at right panel (Do know what u're doing)
8. OK ... Wait for a connection pop-up
9. Do not follow the instruction there, Just Connect Xperia S holding volume down button
10. Wait for installation to complete (When no more loading and the log shows Reboot and enable android debugging)
11. Unplug device and reboot. You will notice new boot animation.
12. Close flashtool.

This happens, when i downloaded XS FTF via IDM, it shown as a zip file.
Just rename the file into .FTF instead of .ZIP. Then flash it. :good:

those wipe and exclude options should be easy to understand, the no final verification remain uncheck.

Yes, some unimportant apps and games are different depending on region.
But the crucial ones I already WROTE in OP in red text.

Read those important notes in 1st post. There's warning there about the features in the FTF I uploaded.

The ftf downloaded as .zip folder so i tried changing the file to .ftf, after taking it to the flastool, it recognizes the firmware but unable to flash the ftf. I have tried flashing the previous version which was 0.200 which flashed in correctly. Can anybody please confirm that changing the .zip name to .ftf works? Or is there any other procedure to use it.

renaming should work. Try to redownload without download manager or helper, just browser downloader and make sure its FTF when downloading.

Hi Guys i have problem by Accident i Updated my Xperia play to 2.3.4 and i tried download 2.3.3 -368- but its not working the device stuck and be very slowly when i flash this rom -2.3.3 .368- in my device and the unlikely iforget the build number of my orginal rom and thats what's make it more difficult to me when i was surfing internet i found abulid number of another version of 2.3.3 rom i guees its the same of my orginal rom -the bulid number 4.0.A.2.364 - Can Any one please upload this rom because i really need it to fix my device and another Qeustion its a stock rom right ?! -2.3.3 .368- and sorry about my weak english Thnx BTW this is my firs time i make subject IN XDA and sure will not be the final. NOTE:My Device Model is R800i - boot loader is locked and doesnt open once a time even try -i root my device with out BLU-

If you can get it into fastboot, this can be fixed without unlocking the BL. Go through this post and find one that is for GB 2.3.3 and flash it. Next you need to flash the GB 2.3.3 ROM back onto the device. I will continue to search for the stock 2.3.3 ROM on the interwebz
