Hi Guys,
I'm really sorry if this thread already exists. I did search but the only ones I found were for different phones.
I use Google Talk and I have Gingerbread 2.3.3.. When I first bought Wildfire S, the Google Talk app was already inbuilt and now I want to update it as I know the new app has video/voice chat. I know that Wildfire S doesn't have the camera at the front so I can't really video chat anyway but I like always having the latest updates.
However I'm not too sure how to update it. There is not 'update' option in the app itself and my app is now even showing in the apps market so there is no way of updating it from there.
If any of you guys can help me, that would be great!
Thanks in advance guys for the help!
My sister just bought the Wildfire S, too. I've updated it to 2.3.5 but GTalk wont allow voice chat and I can't figure why, except that HTC deactivated this on purpose...
Has anyone got an idea?

Just released today, haven't tried it yet, but from the screenshots, the UI looks the same as the Facebook Android app.
Edit: .apk added for those who requested for it.
They call it Facebook S.. it works really well.. I can access my video and upload video... you can't do this with the normal Facebook app I can't
Oh it came back! After long time! I was wondering what happend to Facebook S!...
Ah.. I was unaware it went off.. I still prefer the web version however..
where can i find it?
not in the market and not in the samsung-apps-app
have the JPC-firmware running
It should be in the Samsung apps. If not...then it's nowhere I guess. Maybe that Froyo doesn't support it.
hmm..since the update to froyo... there are only 3 apps in the samsung-apps-app..
so maybe you're right..
but.. can anyone post the .apk of facebook S?
//edit
just saw it..
its my anniversary in this forum..
100 posts
cool, just installed.
ty for the hint.
They still haven't get the "Like" button on it... Would be perfect with that.
If it just came back into the samsung apps store.. I'm guessing it's a new version.
Can someone dump it for us peeps who are on unofficial froyo? Pretty please?
BTW i'm on JP3 and the old Facebook S doesn't work properly, so I hope this one does..
The gui is pretty. But no localized version and it's insanely slow compared to the official app when it loads the content.

any screenshots?
and +1 for the .apk
I am not sure if this is the correct one. USE AT OWN RISK.
Didn't attach for some reason. Try again.

yeah.. thx ..
will give it a try
Why is it that every android version of facebook has no facebook chat?
Surely it can't be that hard to implement

Did you dump that yourself? The CRC (and hence the apk itself) is identical to the old version which I already have.
If the answer is yes, samsung have not updated this app but just reintroduced to the samsung apps store.
If the answer is no, can someone else please confirm if the app is changed/updated at all (preferably dump it too )
Yes it is the old one. I cannot see a new one in Samsung apps yet.
Just downloaded it. It's extremely slow and lacks all the functionality. I'll stick to the browser.

The CRC for the newer one is 5c17b77c. Will be updating the first post with the new apk file in a bit.
Since my post count is so low I have to start a new thread for this, sorry about that.
I just installed the ICS Beta III
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343361
A half hour later or so I get an email from Google 'Welcoming me to my Galaxy Nexus'.
Has this happened to anyone else???
Did you happen to wander into the about section and click on system updates?

Nope, I flashed the ROM then downloaded a couple of apps from the Market as I was doing that I got the email.
All the links go to Google. I am just wondering is it something buried in the ICS code. Once you log on with your Google account it sends out a standard email to the account.
I don't really want to bother any of the dev's with it. They have enough to worry about right now without someone hassling them about something that is not that important in the grander sceme of things.
It's because the galaxy nexus is the only ICS Device with release codes for market so far. That will disappear once a more similar HTC device is released with ICS and we have a broader selection of release codes to choose from. Earlier beta's ran on test codes. They can be changed in build.prop.
Cheers man. I just could not understand it since it did not happen when I flashed the 1st and 2nd beta roms.
Thanks for posting this MrBC I also got this email and was curious about it.
I got this email as well MrBC...
Of course they can track what ROM use are using to browse android market. For example, I have recently update to Android revolution 2.3.5 and now not able to install few app which I used to have earlier on stock ROM 2.3.4.
I also got this
just ignore it lol
what i wondered was if it thinks we have a nexus why can we still not see some android apps lol
It's still beta so there are plenty of bugs. Its possible that there is a framework bug, or some component is missing. Then there is still the fact the a lot of apps on market are listed as not compatible with ICS. I'd expect it to take until 2012 before we have a fully functioning ROM and a fully working market.

Hi - I am the dev for PhoneLeash ... and one of our I9000 users is getting the "your device is not compatible" error. PhoneLeash has gotten installed on most every device (including those SMS-but-no-telephony Galaxy Tabs, and even WiFi devices) so this is frustrating.
If any of you I9000 owners can please take a minute to try to install it, it'll be helpful to know if this is a device issue or app issue or market issue. Its a useful app too btw forwards SMS etc to email, you can reply, GPS location!
Thank you!
well it is possible for me...
Same here. I am able to use it on my Sgs I9000 rooted.
Thanks folks ... meanwhile the user who was having troubles got his issue resolved as well. I had sent him the APK for a previous PhoneLeash release (it just happened to be lying around in my Inbox), which installed fine, but now he was able to upgrade to the latest version directly from the Android Market! Huh! But whatever the reason, hope its another tool to conquer the "not compatible" problem.

Sorry to hear that ... if can spare a few mins to help me debug further, can you email me at support A T gearandroid DOT SEE OH EM I could try the same method (give you an APK to an earlier release and see if the market then lets you upgrade)?

Hi Folks
Pretty much a noob at all this roms and apk stuff, however when I got my HOX I was desperate to get Google Music on it. As I live outside the US I had to side load it, I think from an apk I got here.
My HOX hasnt been rooted or anything so still using the vanilla Android 4.0.3, and only recently thought about updating the music app (hadnt considered that the store wouldn't provide the updates automatically)
Music is at version 4.0.9.509.
I see lots of newer apks around for G Music, but most have indications that they are for JellyBean, but with no info on if this excludes ICS.
Can I update to recent versions while still in ICS?
If yes, should I upgrade incrementally, i.e. from one version to the next or can I just install the most recent immediately?
The site I have found for latest apk that has the most clarity is iapktop.com has anybody used this site before? is it recommended or have people had problems from it?
Thanks for any info, its much appreciated!
Seriously, nobody here can tell me this info?
Thought this would be real easy 1 minute answer for you guys running around with your mods and roms and whatnots.
I did try Googling etc for this info, but everyone assumes you already know such basic stuff
Hi guys
I would like to try the new hangouts but.. seems like I can't get the 2.0 version.. my app says it's on 1.2 but play store says it should be on 2.0.. is there something wrong with my rom somehow? or it's just about some kind of rollout i cant find about? cuz I searched a bit but can't find if other ppl from my country got it or not.. I'm from Italy.. thx in advance
It's a result of the rollout.
You can however download it and install it that way. If you search for Hangouts 2 on Android Police, you can get it there
