[Q] Some ideas for psxperia PSX multidisc support - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok. So I wasnt sure how to word the title but I had an idea for converting PSX games to work with the Xperia PLAYs bult in psx emulator. Couple years ago when I was still in the PSP scene I used to use I believe it was called POPstation or PsGUI300. It allowed you to take 2 ISOs like for example disc 1 & 2 of grandia and convert them into a single eboot which you could then play on the PSP, but the POPstation also lets you convert that eboot to a stand alone ISO. I was thinking even though uit would be a long process and quite a PITA we may be able to take a 2 disc game convert it through POPstation as a single eboot and then convert that back ot a single file ISO which we can then convert hopefully with Yinfanlu (I apologize if I misspelled) conversion process and make it work in the Xperia PLAYs emulator. Any thoughts and or ideas? I apologize if this is long... just wanted to make it understandable..... which i hope it made sense.......
Here is a link to the application Popstation GUI:
http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=57

That actually might work I will try and give it a go tomorrow if I have the time and tell my findings.
Ps I also use to chop and screw the psp

Ok, so I have tried 5 times to get it to convert in the back to a ISO and I have had no luck, maybe its just been so long since I have used this stuff I forgot the correct settings, but anyway if you happen to get it successfully converted can you let me know? It would be awesome to get it to work, especially Grandia as I love that game... more then FFVII (dont shoot or burn me... I just like it better, not saying FFVII is not badass)
I have never tried to use Yinfanlu's (again apologize if its misspelled) conversion software and i cannot figure out why its nots workig. under the extract tab what wold I extract as there is no apk and zpak file with this eboot to iso converted file? oodst0016 if you get it working right can you assist me in what I am doing wrong....
I tried to load the eboot to ISO file in the fpse app and it works great, now all I have to figure out besides trying to convert it in yinfanlu's app is how to convert the save file from my psp for Grandia to work in the fpse and Xperia plas built in emulator, I am stuck at the end of the game where I am fighting the last big boss before the credits roll and I really dont want to redo all 60+ hours it to me to get there..... again if anyone knows how to convert the save to work on our Xplay I would appreciate it. Thank you

You can just move the save file over with a file manager, Its not convenient but it does let you play multidisk games.

I tried moving it over and the game does not see the save file, even though its in the right folder....

You sure you moved the memory card save and not the save state? the memory card file is called raw0 I think... Just thinking off the top of my head haha.

I moved the save file from my PSP to my phone. its all .bin and .sfo and .vmp file extensions. I thought I saw somewhere where you can covert the psp save file to work in the Xperia PLAY... I will start looking for it again....

Oh I thought you meant you moved a save file from disk 1 to disk 2. The psp save format is totally different.

yeah I am aware that ps1 files are in .raw format while psp is in .vmp i think. I have been scowering the internet trying to find a way to convert the psp save file to a ps1 .raw file type.

It's likely that we'll have to wait until a multi-disc game is released officially before we can fully discover how it is supposed to work.

Great news..... the process of taking Grandia disc 1 & 2 and making them into a single PSP eboot file then using POPstation to put it back to a single file ISO then using Yinfan Lu's conversion tool worked. I now have Grandia in its full form as a single game, no disc swapping. SWEET!!!!!!!!!

Have you gotten to the second disc yet? I wouldn't exclaim success unless you've been able to do that yet.

I agreed with jay.
If it does work then ff7 full package yay

Ok... you guys are right... got excited as I was struggling to get this to even load right, goit excited when it did. the final file size is around 680mb. I will see what I can do to get to an area where its the 2nd disc and give you my results. Cross your fingers ya'll
anyone have a game save from Grandia ending with a .raw file extension I could try out? I cannot find a way to convert my psp .vmp save file to .raw to see if it works on the xperia play emulator. Or if someone knows of a website where people can download a .raw psx game save?

just an update,i checked out the new metadate.xml for crashbandicoot and there was this nice option:
'standalone = yes'
if you put it no,and add other settings there couldb a chance it would work
also this is the NEW crash apk and ZPAK! So compatability and MULTIDISK are iN THIS!!

Nice find Cat_On_Droid. I think I may have found a gamesave... dont know if it will work. Just to make sure I am doing this right. THe save game file should go under the /Android/Data/Grandia/all the way to the folder that says "saves" correct?

update time...... Damn. Got the save files I downloaded to show up in the game, but the files for disc 2 are faded. Selecting them says "wrong disc". Guess its back to the drawing board. Thoguht it would work as the game is both discs made into a single iso file......
Cat_On_Droid where did you get the updated apk and zpak? Did you just redownload the files from the Crash app? Not asking you to share the files just curious.

[Q] Help! 3ga to mp3 converter

Last night I just held my S2 at shoulder level half way back in one of my wife's concerts in a 12th century abbey here in France, and to my complete surprise the "voice recorder" has produced the most superb recording when I was about half way back in the room (swallows and bats flying around as well!).
Only one problem.
I can send the file to my box.net site and everyone can download and listen using Apple Quick Time, but the French would love to convert to mp3.
I can't seem to find a programme that does it.
Thanks for any help.

Arrogant! Go back to where you come from. You could read the thread subject and avoid it if you don't want to give you help.
I was looking for the same info, as I didn't find anything useful by searching on google.
May work for you to change 3ga to mp3
Hi,
This isn't very technical, however, I just changed the file extension from .3ga to .mp3 . I just gave it a try out of frustration and it now plays as an mp3 on all of my devices.
be sure to copy the file and then change the file extension on the copied file in case it doesn't work for you.
Hope it helps.
Hi major c,
I had the same problem a few days ago. I solved the 3ga to mp3 converting problem and wrote a small HowTo. I used the programm "3GP to MP3 Converter".
Here you will find a short description how to convert 3ga to mp3 files.
Hope this helps you,

While this method allowed me to play the file, I still couldn't edit it, since it's not actually an mp3 file. I tried the SUPER converter software suggestion posted earlier. Great conversion software that is completely free and supports the .3ga format (as well as many others). Worked for me.
thanks for links to super and formatoz otherwise I would be going around in circles.
got here via google!
I FIND GOOD WAY to make the file.3ga work just change 3ga to 3gp and play with windows media player ver 12 it work very good

I arrived here via google..
I had a 58 minute file that needed to convert, and although changing the extension did allow me to play the file on the computer, it began after the 12 or 15 min to have blank spaces in the audio (like if I pressed "mute" for a second every 20 or 30 seconds).
The solution with SUPER erightsoft did worked perfectly, dropped the file, selected mp3 and reenconded it in 10 minutes. I just played the entire file and it doesn't has any gaps or blank spaces.
Thanks!

convert snesoid saves to snes9x?

hi guys.
I know it's a funny question, but i really be happy if it can be done. I played translated seiken densetsu 3 on snesoid cause it worked there (even if i had flashing screen at avery conversation bubble), now i found out with latest update of snes9x (which was my favourite to begin with) seiken densetsu 3 works PERFECTLY.
But yeah, don't wanna start over again. So, again, is it possible to transfer my save state or save point (you know, the save feature existing in "battery" inside every cartridge-stuff) to snes9x from snesoid?

could you load that save then save it as a emulator .sav file then use that on the other emulator

Yea you can, only the battery save though, not save states. You just change the .sav from snesoid to a .srm that snes9x uses, its been a while since i did it but i think they are the correct extensions.

it works, i did it myself, they are basically the same core emulator, yongzh just changes the save file output for some reason.
you can also use save files off many pc emulators and put them on the play if you wish. They might not all work but some will.

Bios file for fpse

I couldn't find anything about this in the forum so i'm making this thread. Glad for the settings thread though. Made a HUGE difference in appearance. So everytime I Start fpse it asks for a bios file for making the program run better and to save games. What is this and where can i find it? Or do I really even need it? I've never had a psone emulator. Just SNES.

This is a file pulled from the physical system itself. By not including this file, emulators can be distributed legally. For those same legal reasons, you won't find them posted on a forum such as this (or links for that matter). You'll either need to google instructions for pulling the bios if you have the device, or search for less reputable places than this
Oh I see. Ok now I understand what it's asking for. Thanks.

I need android psx (FPse) emulator help please

I am about to go insane. I am trying to play Suikoden I on my Android phone. I was using psx4droid, but the latest versions rarely work, so i've been using V2. this info doesn't matter. Here is where I need help.
I lost my save. Somehow it got corrupt. There is no going back. Lost everything. I am only a few hours away from beating the game. What I want to do is download a memorycard save file, import it into my android (galaxy s3), boot up FPse, and start from there. My whole goal is to play Suikoden II with a perfect import file.
I have been trying for hours to get this to work. I just simply don't understand enough to get this to work. I know almost nothing about all of this. I need help, pleeeeease.
Can someone take me step by step to get this to work. I have the downloaded save file (got it from gamefaqs). It is in a ".gme" form. I think i was able to convert it to ".mcr" correctly. But, I can't figure out where the memory card save file is on my Android. Is it in my internal or external data? My actual emulator and games are on my external.
I have something called "memorycard converter" to change gme to mcr. Again, don't know if I did it correctly.
I hope i gave proper information. If I am missing anything, I'm sorry. I will try my best to give more information. I will be back on at 5:30 central time 2/11/13.
Thank you

If the save gets corrupted, try another program. Read
http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2248 that. It tells you where to put the saves after conversion.

Thanks for the replies. I finally figured something out.
There were no answers to my problems, anywhere lol. I figured it out by accident. There needs to be a "for dummies" version explaining things that are "simple" to you people. Not all of us understand the basics of this stuff. But I appreciate your help, and I'll try out the recovery idea.

I've never used Advance Launcher, but RCB is pretty straightforward. Load roms and emulators on to Fire TV -> import rom collection -> follow instructions. If the external HDD is recognized and mounted by the FTV then you shouldn't have any additional problems than you'd encounter if the roms were located on the internal storage. You just have to make sure that you point RCB in the right rom directory.
Honestly the easiest way to set it up is to start RCB once so that it creates a basic settings.xml and then manually text edit settings.xml with whatever arguments your setup requires. Then it's just a matter of pressing "import games" and waiting for a year for the FTV to finish scraping and downloading. This step is a great thing to do before bed just because it can take forever depending on the size of the collection.

I'm not sure I understand, but yeah, as far as I know moving emulators to external storage is fine. The guide you want to follow is this. I personally wouldn't recommend retroarch. It works, but can be a serious pain to configure. Most of them aren't free, but I'm a big fan of this guy's emulators, along with epsxe and Mupen64.
Ok... Do you need both advance launcher and RCB? what do you use to push/pull the xml files or do you know where I can just get a xml file that most of the editing is done or close to working the less I have top screw up the better...
I have a question guys...after the initial SCRAPE....and you want to change something - how can I pull up the menu shown here:
https://romcollectionbrowser.googlecode.com/files/screen_contextmenu_1202.jpg
its easy to do on PC, but not on the FIRE (I am finding)
