I was trying to turn on 3G data but that error code pops up saying I need to 'Registration failure. Press ok for options. Your PCS Vision username and/or password may be incorrect. Please try again.'
However, my 4G words perfectly and WiFi is normal and I haven't tethered or rooted yet.
I have also reset the phone to factory setting also but still no solution.
Any help?
Call sprint CS and use a landline so they can reset your device

I have an ATT Tilt2 with an unlimited data plan.
Since I installed the new ROM the data connection keeps turning off and on without warning. It is interfering with various programs that use that connection and I never know when it is going to happen.
For example: When I get up in the morning, most of the time, there is an error message on screen telling me that the system failed to dial out to make a connection.
When it is off and try to turn it on manual it doesn't work. I go to the "Wireless Manager" page and turn the "Data Connection" on. It acts like it is trying to activate then after a second or two it turns off while I am watching the switch. The only way then to turn it back on is power down the phone and restart.
I don't use WiFi very much and most of the time it is turned off. Normally, when everything is working okay the only items on are the: Phone and Data Connection.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem and keep the Data Connection "ON?"
Thank you,
Richard..
Here is the error message that pops up when the data connection fails:
Dialed:
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Setting. If the problem contineues reset your mobile device accroding to the manufacture's documenteation and try again.
I have reset my device and this problem continues to occur. The only way to reset it is to restart the phone.
Hello, I have an evo 4g that is flashed to boost. Has been working fine the past year an last week 3g stopped working. The icon is lit up but it seems that it does not work.Internal apps in the phone recognize if it is on or not either by attempting to work if it is lit up or by giving me the message that I need a data connection if it is not lit up. Tried rebooting-battery out and back in, tried uninstalling-reinstalling ROM(which is SS_Ultra) still no 3g. Wireless does work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Roseypat...First I would dial ##33284# and then click "Data Status" and at the very top Where it says IP Address: after that does it say EVDO Rev A (with numbers like this 170.356.123.for example: EvDo Rev A 170.123.456.789.....or after the IP Address: does it say this 1xrtt 170.123.456.789) Also, below that it will say "Last Data Error:" if it says no data thats fine, but if it has a code what was it? This will at least tell us if you have a data connection and whether it is 3g(EvDo) or 1xrtt(2g)....Because you say that the 3g symbol is there it has to have a data connection...And the blinking your referring to is indicating that it is sending or receiving data.
That being said, this usually is related to a bad app downloaded or updated right around the time that it quit working...The first thing I would do is switch it to the stock rom if possible...But either way, I'm betting if you do a Factory Data Reset on your device(which will not effect the flash it will only erase all of the users inputs and data(ie apps, etc)....I just had someone with this exact issue and the Factory Data Reset fixed it back to normal. You can find this in the Storage section of the settings menu(at least on the stock rom anyways)...Btw, just to be safe, I would remove your sd card before you do the factory data reset. Good Luck.
My e4gt is flashed to verizon. Saturday I lost my 3g signal so I have no access to the internet. I called verizon and they said everything looks good on their end. My phone appears to be roaming. Or Im getting the triange instead of the 3g icon. I have done the factory reset and reflashed gb27.
Verizon told me to input *228 however when i do it then ask for me to press option 1 but i dont have a keypad and when i try to go to the dialer it takes me back to the screen for the phone activation. If i wait it appears to default to that option 1 and says the activation is complete.
Also my lock screen use to say Sprint on it even though it worked on Verizon. Now it says, "preferred System". I still get phone calls and sms. However when I place a call or receive one it bring ups the data warning.
I also keep getting an error stating, "error 89/: unknown error please try again". Which I would guess has something to do with the lack of an internet connection
Please help I am lost at this point.
Im in the same boat.I had it reflashed but after 2 days i have the same problem. I tried everything but im back to square one

I know sometimes, when we have crappy data connection or someone wants to activate, there is a code that starts with "#" that resets your connection.
This usually works when I have super crappy connection (and only works on TW)..
Anyway, does anyone remember the code? I think it starts with a "7" but I'm not sure.

Hi all with my one week old s9 I occasionally get the error of "server access failure (1,-1) .check your network or try again later." Pop up on the screen. But overall seems like I can still use my phone no problem on mobile network. Tried to reset network settings same thing happened , it doesn't seem like a 'huge' problem seems things are working fine.. but anyone know what's the problem with the pop up message ?
Try to reset your APN settings, just to be sure the phone will try to connect again to the mobile data network.
