Notice to Gameloft users - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

So I like many others purchased Dungeon Hunter 2 from Gameloft via the wap shop because it is not available in the market, and quite frankly is a badass game (well worth the $4.99). So I was very disheartened to find that the game i purchased and played on my EVO 4G was not listed as a supported game for the Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710 on the gameloft site).
So I called their customer service number, and spoke with a gentleman who offered to refund the purchase, give me a different game, or allow me to wait for the game to become supported. I however asked for him to just send me a link to download the apk file. Well he obliged and sent me a link to Dungeon Hunter 2, and Eternal Legacy(another game I purchased and requested a new link for), first thing I did was download and install DH2, and download the extra files. Well Lo and Behold despite their claims that it is incompatible with the Epic 4G Touch from Sprint, the game runs 100% flawlessly, I just played for an hour straight to make sure I had no problems. Now Eternal Legacy is supported, but whenever I would download it, it would download the apk specifically for the HTC EVO 4G, and I did mention this to him, so he said he would have to get me a different version of the file to download.
So basically If you purchased a game from Gameloft's website using a different device, Give them a call 1-800-913-6828, and request them to send you a copy of the apk file, it Just might work.
For reference, the apk files that he sent me are labeled as follows.
Dungeon Hunter 2:
Dungeon_Hunter_2_HD_Samsung_GTi9100_Galaxy_S_II_android.apk
Eternal Legacy:
Eternal_Legacy_HD_Samsung_SPHD_710_Gaudi_android.apk
They haven't created a copy of DH2 for the Epic Touch because it has a different model number, but the other Galaxy S2 versions work just fine.
And I am going to say this now just to preempt anyone who may ask.
No I will not attach a copy of the apk files, No I will not PM you the files, No I will not send you the download link. That is a direct violation of XDA's rules against Warez. If you want the game, pay for it, it is 100% worth the money.

Ea games

Has anyone gotten previously purchased Ea games to download extra data to this tab? I can download from market but the data won't download, starting to suck

No where near
I tried the help line from EA and that didn't help. Mobile department took the case over and that didn't help either. (What they did was just close the case instead of trying to solve it) Now I'm trying to take that game out of my my app list some how.
EA uses their own servers to make sure you're using the right device before allowing you to download the game, so modifying a build.prop won't do it.
What you need to do is install the game completely on a compatible device (your phone), and then copy the android/data folder over to your tablet. it will be named ea.sims3.blahblah or whatever depending on the game.
There may be some screen re-sizing (or lack thereof) issues.
a lots of ea games or 3D games are not working on a100

Quake 1 APK

I recently replaced my xperia play with another xperia play cuz I love it so much. I had Quake 1 installed on the old phone purchased from the play store back in 2011. The developer was Jack Niu (published his source code) and per my request he was able to release a version on 1-15-12 that made the touch icons disappear so I could play on my Xperia Play (with controls) and no touch screen icons blocking my view.
I still have all the pak files on my SD card for the game, however, the game has been removed from the play store and I cannot re-install. The only file I was able to recover was the "tk.niuzb.quake.asec" file from when I copied the SD card.
Does anyone know how to get this back to the apk file that I originally paid for and installed on my old phone? or is anyone willing to share apk that would allow me to play this without touch screen icons?
Taken one step further, I would be willing to make a substantial paypal donation for any developer willing to make this happen?
All I really want to do is be able to play Quake 1 on my Xperia Play without those annoying touch screen icons.
Thanks ahead for reading and hope someone can help me out.
Sean
Someone out there must know how to get this to work? PLEEZ!?

[GAME MOD] Asphalt 8 v.1.6.0e - graphics unlocked for cappy

Hello everyone!
I'm a fan of Asphalt series and recently I got my hands on latest game in this series, Asphalt 8: Airborne. It's awesome arcade, and it should have great graphics, but... Somewhy this game doesn't detect hardware on Samsung Captivate Glide and allows it to run only on lowest or low graphics setting. But the worse thing is that there are no traffic on the streets, no high car detail, no objects on the road to break for us... That's just ugly!
I made a config for this game that allows us to play with unlocked for all devices:
- Road and car specular,
- Skid marks and car particles,
- High car details,
- Realistic damage effects on collisions (bumpers and doors are flying off!),
- Road traffic,
- Breakable road objects.
Also, there are unlocked medium and high graphics settings for all devices (the default setting is medium).
On our Captivate Glide game's running smoothly on low gfx settings with all these additions, and when OC'd to 1300 Mhz, it can be well played on medium with all shadows and road reflections.
You should download this apk (ver. 1.6.0e) to use external config: Asphalt 8 1.6.0e - external gfx config.apk, made by Enyby from 4pda.ru
To install:
1. Backup your current game. Rename game obb folder (named "com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM" and located on cappy in /storage/sdcard0/Android/obb/). Delete Asphalt 8. Install this apk. Rename back game obb folder. Restore your save data from backup.
2. Download gameprofiles.txt from attachment here and place it on your device at: sdcard/Android/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM/files/gameprofiles.txt
3. Enjoy.
I'm not sure about play over the internet, you certainly can't login with it using google+ (different apk signs), but maybe Facebook login should work.
I remeber this game, aspahlt 1&2 for ngage...good times xD...i miss my taco and my QD

Yep, I still whistling some melodies from Asphalt 1 sometimes. Good times.

I looked into the apk file of Asphalt 8 v.1.3.0l and made some changes to the gameprofiles.json file I found inside.
So, here are unlocked for all devices:
- Road and car specular,
- Skid marks and car particles,
- High car details,
- Realistic damage effects on collisions (bumpers and doors are flying off!),
- Road traffic,
- Breakable road objects.

Apk version is 1.3.0l and you will need a cache version of 13051.
To install:
Backup your current game. Rename game obb folder (named "com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM" and located on cappy in /storage/sdcard0/Android/obb/). Delete Asphalt 8. Install this apk. Rename back game obb folder. Restore your save data from backup. Enjoy.
Mod allows to play over the internet, but you can't login with it using google+ (different apk signs). Facebook login works fine.
I'm not responsible for any issues or bans you can encounter. But everything should be fine.

The gameprofiles.json file is encoded with MIME Base64. You can use Notepad++ or web sites like http://www.base64decode.org/

Asphalt 8 1.4.01 high graphics tutorial...
makshow,
I'm hoping you respond despite this threads age. I've been searching for a way to unlock high end graphics for this game forever. Some months ago I stumbled upon this XDA thread and it has truly been a life saver especially since I'm an Asphalt 8 fan as well. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with how to edit apk files to achieve what you have done with version 1.3.0l. as you can imagine, there have been several updates to this game since this threads original post. What I was wondering, if you could be so kind, is if you could post an updated version of this apk 1.4.1e with modified game profile.json file that unlocks full graphics capability for all devices. But also, and forgive my noob sensibility, could you perhaps include a brief tutorial on how you modified it. I think being able to edit apks in this manner is very interesting. In any event thanks in advance for anything you're able to do.
Editing apk file is not hard - .apk is a zip archive in it's core. So, if you wish to unlock graphics in some asphalt apk, you can do following steps:
1. Open newest Asphalt apk with some archiver such as WinRAR - you can even do it with Windows Explorer.
2. Browse inside the apk to \res\raw\gameprofiles.json and replace original file with attached gameprofiles.json.
3. Upload updated apk to your android device.
4. Install ZipSigner from Play Store, it's free. Launch ZipSigner, choose your modified apk and press the button to sign your file.
5. Install signed asphalt apk.
If you already have Asphalt installed, step 5 will be complex:
5. Backup your current game. Rename game obb folder (named "com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM" and located on cappy in /storage/sdcard0/Android/obb/). Uninstall current Asphalt 8. Install modified Asphalt apk. Rename back game obb folder. Restore your save data from backup.
Also, I uploaded 1.4.1e version, see updated first post or download it here: https://www.mediafire.com/?1ax12au164ersa1
Makshow,
Much obliged by this. Thank you for your detailed instructions, modified apk upload, and json profile my friend. I am always eager to learn new things. And though this process may not be difficult, I still very much appreciate you sharing your knowledge with those like myself who don't know how to do this. Especially, in a respectable manner. Many times, even in this XDA forum...simple questions like these are met with cruel responses and unwarranted criticism. Much respect and many thanks to you Makshow. God Bless You
can i edit here the starting money? instead of 1500 i'll change it to 9999999?
Asphalt 8 v.1.6.0e
Makshow,
Thank you for your instructions on how to modify the apk file. I've tried installing the modified apk 1.6.0e file several times on my device following your instructions perfectly, but unfortunately this version does not allow for the high graphics change. Do you think that the gameprofile.json file you uploaded needs to be modified or updated? I know this version 1.6.0e has a number of updates and changes included are much different than version 1.4.1e. If there is any way that you can help again I would very much appreciate it. The process you outlined for me has worked flawlessly on previous versions (I've tried). For some reason the 1.6.0e version will not take.
Any help you can provide...I would be much obliged
Darrell
Hello, Darrell! Unfortunately, currently I don't play Asphalt 8 and I don't have fast Internet connection even to download cache for this game (that's the main reason). So can't check new version.
Seems that they inserted gameprofiles config file right into the game code, so my method will no longer work. But there is russian hacker Enyby from 4pda.ru that made modded file with external config.
Download it here: Asphalt 8 1.6.0e - external gfx config.apk, install as usual, then download gameprofiles.txt file from attachment and place it on your device here: sdcard/Android/data/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM/files/gameprofiles.txt
This should do the trick.
can you do this to version 1.5.0h please .
Doubt
I dont have a folder of asphalt 8 in android/obb
So shd i create a new one??
If yes,What shd i name it as??
can you do this to the 2.1.1f apk. i have tried your method but it is not working.
Need help with asphalt 8 version 2.4.0h
Hi please am having a problem with asphalt 8 version 2.4.0h, after copying the obb file to android/obb/com.game....* and then installing the apk, when I run the apk I find that the folder for the obb has been deleted, I've this several times even installing the apk and allowing it to download about 5mb once I copy the obb folder to android/obb it disappears immediately I run the application

i second this
Wait?,There is a Flappy Bird for Fire TV?!?
Is gameplay in landscape?
The app itself has to be in landscape orientation on Fire TV,otherwise it could be simulating portrait by not using the entire screen-width,which would be as torturous as the original Flappy Bird when played on a tablet that could use landscape.
Although, portrait mode sometimes works on Fire TV for some reason.
Tip:XDA Forums supports attachments, and also supports the apk format directly.
Your limit is 20.00MB for an apk.
If it is larger than 20.00MB,try compressing it into a zip.
Zip files are also limited to a whopping 20.00MB of space.
If you have access to a Windows PC like Win7,you can take advantage of
its "Send To> Compressed (zipped) folder" a most powerful compression tool.

Yes there is. Its was specifically built for fire tv by the original creator. Not even fire tabs or phone can download it.
Got the apk file.
View attachment com.dotgears.flapfire-1.apk
Edit:Alright, can someone mod this so I don't need gamecircle or the Amazon Appstore
so I can actually testrun it?
My Fire TV's current condition with Flappy is improperly trying to open an action list instead of doing the normally assigned action. (whatever that is)
It keeps spamming me with the gamecircle after I touch the "no thanks" option.
I only caught a glimpse of the in-game portion where you select a bird.
Fire Phone good to Go!
The apk works perfectly on the Amazon Fire Phone! Wonder why they would exclude it from their own newly launched device? As for other android devices? Yea I get it, they paid Nguyen (developer) a sick amount of loot for exclusivity! Probably 6 figures?

Same thing happened with me. I had Amazon App store installed. Once the app finished installing and opened, I was immediately greeted with a screen that I do not own the app.
I tried messing around with some of the files contained in the APK, but no luck yet. Experienced modders, where you at?!?

the app it self will install and "work" on mostly any device just it wont let you play the game till it verifies some bs with the Amazon App store and also check your default mobile internet browser it might have opened some amazon pages
Report the annoying gamecircle/amazon issue to the developer as a legitimate Fire TV owner.
In a normal circumstance, you would only have the Amazon controller and the remote, meaning you can't
complete the spammed gamecircle bs.
Or maybe I botched something in post-root,and I even have the bueller IME enabled now,but not set as the
default because of the original issue. (null keyboard is my default IME)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251719 your free to follow this apk decompile and recompile guide to make this app work with everyone else i personally don't have enough storage in my 80GB laptop i know very little space so take a crack at it
Download lucky patcher apk on Google not play store. It's mainly for cracking apps but I don't condone warez. BUT it does allow for removing parts of an app. I removed some stuff and got the Amazon game circle removed but then force closed. Maybe you guys can try with it.
Also since its for fire tv, how do we know it will have touch support?

I believe it has to do with the "com.amazon.identity.auth.device.authorization" lines in the manifest.xml, but I'm having trouble parsing my signed APK. Will work on it later tonight. Let me know if anyone makes any progress.
I did not say anything before, but I can confirm pressing basically any button on my Logitech K400r Keyboard made the bird flap.
(at least when not frozen in place from the EFFIN gamecircle crap)
I really want this fixed since I feel that it is much easier than the torturous portrait-oriented version, and would be tons more fun.
I've seen a video of somebody already setting major records like 300+ points.
I am making my own clone of Flappy Birds family with basic split screen multiplayer (using modded sprites to avoid copyright of course). Should be done in a day or 2 but I may make it $.99 since it took a bit to make.
I give up. I tried several modifications to the XML manifest and various different compiling/signing tools but the furthest I've gotten is the opening screen on my Nexus 7.
On my Galaxy S5, the FBF APKs (even the original) will no longer even install. Android is mad at me.
It appears that this website has someone working on it: thedroid.net/flappy-birds-family-android-apk/
Not sure if I'm allowed to post that. I apologize if that's against the rules.

Good point on the touch support, but I thought someone said it was working on the fire phone?

Google play store needs app/game test kitchen who votes yes?

I recently thought to save the incompatible device issue in play store why don't they just make a website and play store app section called test or test kitchen, this would mean people could test the app/game in order to see if it runs on their device, meaning eg.shield android tv owners and other users of certain devices and os's can see if the apps and games run or not with given compatible next to the games and apps, then all purchases that didn't work before as they can't be installed can be tested to see if they run,and refunded if they buy something that doesn't run,who votes yes to this I'm interested to see the results. I have requested that they do this, the rep said it's a good idea and he said he would pass it on to the development team. I was hoping I can get some of you xda members here to start backing this idea and then I will present a link to this thread when and if the number of people saying yes gets high if it ever gets to say 1000 maybe then.As unlikely as it is,but it would be great for some people a large number I imagine that can't access their purchases and for those with devices unfairly showing incompatible device next to apps and purchases in play store, especially when the app can and should work with their devices. It looks like they may have added it now sort of with beta testing, that's not really what I meant though lol. This is for all users to test every app and game to try and see if it will work, and get the refund if it doesn't,it would provide a far better archive to the public.
