A friend of mine came over to my store with his iPhone 4 and was showing me a game that i have to admit the graphics where amazing. I just read an anandtech review that the gpu of our phone is much stronger than the iPhone 4 one.
Is there a game out there for our phone that can take 100% advantage of it's gpu power? I would like to see something this nice on my phone. I can't remember the name of the game. I will try to get it from my friend.
Riptide is one of the best looking.
Earth And Legend is a very good one to but riptide is the best.
But keep in mind that you need the nvidia plugin for chainfire3d or it will not run.
But the game keeps closing for me and take me back to the home screen.

all the gameloft games
there are 3 that are on sale right now for $0.99 cents
The game I was talking about is infinity blade from epic. I don't think there's something to top that. Plus isn't it annoying that we have to do all kinds of alchemies just to enjoy Riptide???

Yes it is. But we can run a game meant for tablets on our phones. I don't think iphones can do that. Infinity blade? We'll have to wait for a similar game to come out. Apparently it is in the works. Uses the same unreal engine for graphics. I can't really remember the name, but it is out there.
You could try dungeon defenders. It uses unreal as well.

Yeap. Ditto. I just love how adreno, powervr, nvidia games seems to just work on our mali-400mp gpu
Thanks guys, very interesting answers.
I know that the gameloft games look good but admittedly you can't compare with infinity blade. let's hope there will be some games soon that will take full advantage of our phone.
If you guys find something new feel free to share.

Just watched the youtube video for this from the market all all I have to say is: WOW! *nopun* It looks awesome, is it really fun and playable?
To the OP:
Samurai II: Vengeance is VERY fun and looks great and plays very smoothly on this phone. The colours are extremely vivid and attractive. Kinda reminds me of "Afro Samurai", which I have for xbox. Check it out.
Also, when I got my iPad2 (gift) the first paid app I downloaded from the app store was Infinity Blade. It was used in iPad1 vs iPad2 videos I was watching during the times I was waiting for said device to arrive. TBH, other than looking pretty good, the game kinda sucks. It's not the worst game I bought for it, but I kinda wish it was a bit more fun.... I mean it's simplistic to the point of tedium.

tbh there isn't any game on android that comes close to infinity blade's graphics, even though our phone would run it ultra smooth.
on my iphone I used to brag with Epic Citadel demo, it looked like the presentation of dx11
on s2 I usually brag with quake3 and playstation emu
I don't undestand why development is slacking so much lately, we have dual core phones since spring and nothing launched yet to take advantage of it..

That's exactly my point and i find it weird that no one else is annoyed about this. The sony xperia keeps getting new games that are only made for it and we get nothing good.
Dead Space is also a great one but you need qualcom plugin in chainfire3d.
No wonder nothing on android comes close to infinity blade and rage on ios, when games are being dumped down to run smoothly on the old adreno 205 GPUs.
Hell , I think my own test looks better than most if not all android games, and it runs at 60 frames per second on my S2:

Probably because the phone is new as well. When the galaxy s phone came out, it took a while for the games to be out for the powervr gpu. In any case, there are some impressive games like Dungeon Defenders etc.

Simply, just being able to make your own games. I am currently working on one. Its going to be a sword+shield game. Right now, I am creating 3D models of the characters and I will be animating them for various attack and block methods. I will post more details on it later
I'm toying with XNA atm, I'm thinking of a turned based card game similar to Magic the Gathering.
love to see them guys, once you guys are ready to show them off plz do let us know via admin[at]1800PocketPc[d0t]com, we can feature them on http://www.bestwp7games.com/ .. which is our new exclusive WP7 gaming site

Is the current batch of WP7 games equivalent to iPhone games yet? I speaking of apps like MonkeyBall and racing games and etc. I'm surprised there's no killer game app associated with the launch of WP7.
Smoothness, responsiveness, great control, rich graphics?
is bye bye brain exclusive to ATT? I can't find it on the marketplace.
@whybe, the game on wp7, imo, far exceed that of the iphone. For racing game, need for speed is pretty bad ass.
oh ... Keep Defender is looking good! NFS is nice and I almost at the end of it. Downloading Assasin now ...
I wish someone could remake Super double dragon. Because i don't have the skills to create games.

I would like to see the EA Sport sims. Especially Tiger Woods.
I would definitely pay for a remake of Halo:Combat evolved.
I want to see a couple of Grand Theft Auto games.
I have to say that with touch screen games, the bigger the screen the better. I have the HTC HD7. Before on the HTC Desire it was annoying playing FIFA because my fingers were covering up to much of the screen.
I tried Assassins Creed earlier today. Ubisoft look to have done an excellent job for a first Windows Phone game.
My favourite game so far is NFS:Undercover.
I really think that gaming could be the KEY area along with Music & Video in competing with Android.
I cannot understand what Microsoft are doing with their advertising. I understand the glance and go concept. But customers want to know 'what can it do?'
Windows Phone does the things it does in a beautiful and effortless way. Why don't they show the big beautiful screens. The live tiles. Why don't they show the apps:
-the simplicity of texting with such a good osk
-the simplicity of email and again that great osk or show a model with a real keyboard.
- Bing Maps
- The Sims
- Need for Speed
- Office
- Xbox Live Hub
- Internet Explorer
- ITN News
- Calender
- Tesco Groceries
- Facebook
- Photo Hub
- Music & Video Hub
- Twitter
- Last FM
- Shazam
- Zune service and desktop software which makes syncing a piece of pis*
Apple advertise the apps. The ease of use of the iPhone OS.
What are Microsoft doing with their advertising campaign?
They should be saying 'Windows Phone: so much you can do so easily'
I can think of one advert that would feature the Dad at a school football game their young boy scoring a goal and the Mum at her daughters wedding trying to take a snap with iPhone. And missing the moment whilst trying to open up the camera app.
Then the Mum and Dad taking the snaps with the camera button on a Windows Phone. Maybe using the HTC photo enhancer which takes a few seconds. And then posting to their Skydrive or Facebook.
Windows Phone: never miss the moment.
OK some of you will think my post is bizarre. But Apple do an amazing job of marketing their Chinese trinkets. Microsoft need to do the same.
Would like to see Angry Birds on WP7
I sent a twit or tweet or whatever they're called to rovio who make angry birds and they said they are looking into it

2.4 UDPATE:
Fixes some ROMs like Starfox, adds bluetooth controller multiplayer!
More details here: http://www.androidnz.net/2011/09/n64oid-updates-to-24-multiple-bluetooth.html
...and video!
Its fantastic - while lots of games still don't work, lots more do work now, and the speed is really good - Goldeneye is fullspeed and smooth for example.
I would guess that we will now see YongZH working on specific game issues, starting with the most valued titles, so it will just continue to get better and better.
UPDATE:
Video demo of new engine via MHL and Phonejoy dual stick controller -
http://blog.clove.co.uk/2011/07/21/...efresh-dual-analog-sticks-are-a-go/#more-8046
you are right, just fired up the new n64oid and ocarina of time and although one bug is gone (texture flicker on the grass) there seems to be a transparency issue. i had the free slideme version before and now paid 3.99$ on this crap? also it does not support save games created with previous versions.
i use stock kf3, no chainfire. i am really annoyed that the free version worked fairly ok and now i had to pay, just to make everything worse.
You can switch back to the old gpu code in the settings until he updates it for the GS2.
Yep, but now the old engine has bugs that it didn't use to before.
http://www.fpsece.net/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2145&start=210
They are working on fixing the GS2 graphics problem and its their number 1 priority right now.
Yeah, I saw that in the Slideme comments. Will be great when its fixed, game speed is fantastic - even my Sensation can play Goldeneye! Its running much more smoothly on the SGSII though, so should be something very special.
NZtechfreak said:
Quick heads up that the long awaited update is now available at Slideme.
Sadly extensive graphical bugs in the SGSII, can't wait for a fix for them, because the increased speed on stuff like Goldeneye is amazing.
How is it running for you guys?
Actually, I wonder if it could be a Chainfire 3D related problem, will experiment with that tomorrow!

Games are faster, and more ROMs work now, but still lots of optimisations needed. Goldeneye now runs fullspeed and smooth for me, Ocarina of Time virtually perfect, Mario Kart and Banjo Kazooie also much improved.

Cant wait. Can you find out when the masses can get this please and how much?
Wow, tried FPSe for the first time on my SGSII. Tried Tekken 3, since that was always one of the more demanding titles to emulate - result was amazing. Solid 60fps in gameplay (occasional drops a few fps in cutscenes), and with a controller like the Phonejoy and MHL the whole experience was as authentic as you could get. I've finished my videos and review for Clove, it should go live later today.
The Phonejoy itself will be available soon, Clove will be selling some - I would keep an eye out on their announcement. I believe they will be doing pre-orders - I'd encourage people to make use of them, because if Clove see a high demand they will order more in (and the makers will have more produced).
If anyone figures out how to make the old saves work, please let me know.
I think someone said if you change the old extension/save file name to the current format, it will work.
Wow, would be great if its that simple (I will try shortly).

Tegra Takes Gaming Action By The “Horn”
Unreal Engine 3 (UE3), Epic Games’ reknown game engine, is going mobile. And the charge is being led by Horn, Phosphor Games’ new third-person action adventure game.
In Horn, you play as a young blacksmith’s apprentice, exploring a beautiful game-world unlike any seen before on a mobile device.
It’s filled with scenic vistas, huge waterfalls, heart-stopping monsters and epic boss fights – all of which can be explored in an open world. You’ll be walking, jumping, crawling and even grapple-hooking your way around using intuitive touch gestures that were meticulously tuned to feel “just right.”
Horn takes mobile gaming to a whole new level, while delivering an epic 10+ hours of gameplay experience that gamers of all stripes will enjoy.
But Phosphor Games didn’t just create one of the most visually stunning games ever seen on a mobile device. They’ve also endowed Horn with numerous enhancements that take advantage of Tegra 3’s unique 4-PLUS-1 quad-core architecture.
For example, Tegra 3 devices will enjoy cloth simulation on all characters, advanced particle effects and a more dynamic and interactive world that has all the attributes of a AAA console title.

Story:
Inspired by the endearing character-based console games, Horn takes the richness of intricate worlds to explore, entertaining characters, thought provoking puzzles, the excitement of combat, and memorable extraordinary situations and brings them to mobile devices.
Based loosely on the Old English tales of King Horn, you play as a young blacksmith's apprentice, Horn, who wakes up to find his village overrun by fantastic, and sometimes humorous, monsters. It is revealed that these creatures are actually the people and animals from your village that have been transformed by a curse, and you alone have the power to free them. On your incredible adventure, you carry the loud-mouthed head of one such creature with you - a somewhat uncooperative, ill-tempered, grudgingly helpful sidekick. Along with the help of this new companion, you must use your sword, crossbow, trusty musical horn, and wits to explore the lands, defeat the enemies, and solve puzzles in your quest to undo the curse that engulfs your homeland.

Tegra Takes Gaming Action By The “Horn”
By TegraZone on Thu, Aug 30 2012
Unreal Engine 3 (UE3), Epic Games’ reknown game engine, is going mobile. And the charge is being led by Horn, Phosphor Games’ new third-person action adventure game.
Starting today, devices powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Tegra 2 can find Horn in TegraZone and the Google Play store.
Google unveiled Horn running on its Tegra 3-powered Nexus 7 tablet at the Google I/O 2012 keynote back in in June. Mobile gamers everywhere were stunned by the UE3-powered graphics and dynamic open-world gameplay. Since then, buzz surrounding the game has only grown.

I got dark meadow two days back, it lags very little if there is lag at all. But maybe that's because of the JB rom. Jetpack Joyride lags more than dark meadow on my hox

what are you talking about unreal engine has received a premium conversion for tegra
did you not try Dark meadow and more importantly Horn??
no Gameloft are still idiots, the tegra 3 GPU is a little weak on the pixel fill rate, extremely strong on the vertex power
all they had to do is run at a slightly lesser resolution than 720p like Horn
It's a nice game.
I'm on ARHD 9.7.2 stock kernels, it seems to run okay with the Renovate gaming app.
I don't know if it'll ever get any better than it is now unless GL manage to patch it somehow with updates etc...
Here are a few pics!

can i give you a simple hint to everyone?
both the vector unit games and Horn apply the same trick which is to lower the resolution a bit, this is easiest way to optimize games for tegra
madfinger is something else though, completely designed from day one for Tegra, shadowgun and dead trigger are still the best for me

Horn sucks, sorry to be a tool but it really does.
The graphics are ok but the game itself is just boring.
But then again ive always hated games like this.
Such as Oblivion and Assassins creed thats what I compare it to, POOOOP!
so nothing seems to improve this game fps besides gaming boost but not enough to save it
while this fps is acceptable for many types of games it makes this game simply not fun its a god of war clone and speed/feedback is everything
very bad job by gameloft despite being graphically no where near horn, seriously this kind of fps is an instant fail in the world of gaming

by this game on faux 10 u and gaming boost, barely heats the phone, it stays surprisingly cool
I agree, the phone remains cool.....while fps are not good......a pitty
Granny Smith manages somehow to lag ony my device :s I have yet to play one game that runs really well on stock untouched firmware yet xD

this is because of the HTC ondermand governor and the stock values when ever the phone is not being pushed the clocks keep scaling down
a very good example is ripetidge gp, which keeps jumping up and down from very smooth to laggy, ie: in light ares it lags and speeds up in heavy areas
manipulate the governor values to our boost values and ripetide locks to 60fps
this is actually a configuration problem form HTC's CPU governors, its non existent on the Nexus 7
Wild blood is running smooth with franco new kernel.. But I still not passing the dragon chapter.. =_=

I know that some of you probably are bored with some games which are currently trend on market such as Dead Trigger, Most Wanted, etc. and don't know what to play anymore. I found some pretty fun games which aren't that popular but are actually pretty fun to play. All games I linked are totally free.
Magic Wingdom - nice refreshment, something totally new.

SpaceCat 3D - When you see name and screenshots of this game you just says wtf, but it is very cool and a bit different cuz I don't recall any familiar game on market like this one, and big plus for cute cat
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS50aGVwaWxsdHJlZS5zcGFjZWNhdCJd
Air Penguin
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5lbnRlcmZseS5wZW5ndWluX2dsb3BsdXMiXQ..
Juggernaut Revenge of Sovering - this is the kind of RPG I was looking for a long time. It is very fun, except it gets too hard as you progress in game, but still I recommend it
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwyLDEsInJ1Lm1haWwuZ2FtZXMuanVnZ2VybmF1dCJd
Pitfall - an updated version of Temple Run, much different than any other variation of Temple Run, camera is dynamic and you get to change enviroment
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...GwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5hY3RpdmlzaW9uLnBpdGZhbGwiXQ..
Heroes of Order & Chaos - probably the best dota-like game for android

Feel free to post in some games if you want

I love tennis and tennis games. Actually the only game I play on my laptop since the past 6 months or so to spend some free time is Virtua Tennis 4.
I never knew that a mobile version existed too. I was too tempted and although overpriced, I just went ahead and purchased it. Loving the graphics, it looks exactly like the PC version on a small screen.
Little difficult to get hold of it. The controls are little confusing as often my player just ends up running somewhere uncalled for. I hope I'll get used to the gameplay soon.
Thanks for suggesting this wonderful game.

This could hurt.
This is one of the best games I've ever played. It's so simple and so beautiful at the same time. It's a parcours you've to run.

Recommend it big times.
