Hi! all. just want to check after rooting can i still input & display Chinese characters on the desire?
yes you can! however i use chinese keyboard as an additional input method as the rom i am using didnt come with the chinese language pack as part of froyo
Hi do you know how to install chinese keyboard into the desire? I don't want those applications like MoreLocale 2, Sogou, etc. I want something generic.
Sogou is actually very good! Why don't u want that?
Perhaps stupid question, but how do you get more languages?
According to androidos . in/2010/12/android-2-3-brings-more-languages-support-incl-hindi/ it should have support for alot of languages, but in my phone I can't see for example serbian or swedish. Not as language and not as keyboard.
Any way to get swedish support without a third party keyboard? Is there anything official or only apps like MoreLocal2? (Phone is bought in USA)
i think u need custom made roms. u can see at the topic of youre device.
Hi guys, I have a question. I have bought a new HTC Desire HD, but it is only in English and German. How can I set Dutch language on the phone? Does somebody have the right Dutch firmware, the right flashing tool and the right flashguide for me so I can flash it? Or does somebody know an other way to set original Dutch language?
Regards,
Tuny
Try a custom ROM with language support or install app "more locale 2", not sure about Dutch support though. Also may need root & give su permissions (can't quite remember)
Sent from my SGS2 or HTC DHD
I tried more locale 2. It does have Dutch support. But the problem is it only converts the English app names to Dutch, and it doesn't convert the menu's (settings, folders) itself. I have searched for custom roms but couldnt find anything. I only have found a program called: RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed.exe
Does this work? If it doesn't work, where can I find any custom roms or any root files for flashing to DutcH? please somebody help

Hello my fellow Dutchman. First, let me ask you some questions:
- Is your DHD perm rooted or not? And do you have it S-OFF?
- Do you have a Dutch DHD or did you buy it abroad?
Hi, I found this thread that shows how to add languages to the international version of the GS3.. I tried them on my Sprint SPH-L710 but I couldn't get the language to show..
Can anybody help me add Arabic? I would like it for the language and to be for the GS3 keyboard as well..
I'm using hackers keyboard and able to type Arabic but not liking it as the GS3 keyboard.
Thanks.

So,
It seems like Samsung has introduced a new way for supporting languages on the Galaxy S3.
If you go inside the language settings you will see a nice bunch of languages.
But! Those are not all the available languages on the phone!
There are 5(!) more languages you can "unlock" in 2 ways.
The languages are:
Arabic (ar)
Farsi (fa)
Hebrew (iw)
Japanese (ja)
Thai (th)
Vietnamese (vi)
Chinese (zh)
The easy way to enable them is to download the application "morelocale2" and add to choose or add the language code you want.
With this method you will not see these languages in your language settings.
To enable these languages in the language setting of your phone, you will need to root it.
you can use Chainfires method here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1660918
The next step is to use root explorer or any other familiar application and go into /system/csc.
There is a file there named languages.xml.
If you open the file you will see a list of languages to display.
Just add your desired language code from the list above (in 2 places in the file) + country code, reboot, and then you will see that language in your language setting!
good luck!
Is no one able to help with this???
