I did that earlier as well but it didn't work. Maybe we need to drop it in /system/app
Unfortunately I can't try it since I don't have root yet.

i rooted my first epic touch. accidently removed the camera.apk from /system/app
COULD NOT get it to restore... tried installing in every way possible, even restoring with titanium backup (since i had backed up the camera.apk before removing it).
i tried installing via adb, by putting Camera.apk in /system/app and rebooting, all that good stuff, nothing worked... so i dont know how this fm radio apk is going 2 work

There's always tune-in radio or pandora :-D
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic Touch 3g
I got the app to install by puting it into my system/app folder and rebooting. The app starts but it won't find any stations. I'm rooted by the way.

There is also the Sprint Radio app that comes Pre installed. Don't know if this would work for you. It looks like it just grabs streams from online.
Mediocre bloatware at best but it may work for you!

There's some stations that don't show in TuneIn radio only fm. And also when using the fm radio we don't use data = less battery, and those Apps need data to work, I have unlimited data but my concern its the battery.
Maybe later someone fix it.

Here is the modified framework-res.apk for the CRT Off Animation. Just use root explorer or equivalent to move the file to /system/framework. Your phone will reboot, and you will now have crt off. If anyone wants to make a flashable .zip, feel free.
You do need root in order to do this. And if you somehow break your phone doing this, its not my fault.

Hmm.. I tried using ES File Explorer to replace the file, but it keeps saying copy failed. Should I delete the old file first, then paste the new one?
I'm kinda new to this, so I don't wanna do anything crazy without asking first to ruin the phone.

So you do, or do not need to root for this?
This works and is awesome. I renamed my framework-res.apk then copied with Root Explorer. I did have one small problem though nothing major. You have to re-enter your google account info and change you wallpaper back. It wipes it out for some reason. Works great after that!

I tried for hours last night, eventually hard bricked my phone. But it was unrelated to the crt. Tho editing the framework-res live likeI was doing, can cause the os to be pretty much useless. everything starts to fc.

How do we get YouTube version 2.3.4 unto our phones???

You have to manually install it because supposedly it is not "compatible" with our phones even though 2.2.16 version work fine. Anyone have a download link?
I saw that, but it didn't show up in my apps yet.
google search for the file name then throw "download" in the search box after the name... you'll find it.

'Watch later' queue
Uploading while editing video info
I searched the forum to try and find an answer, with no luck. My main question is why can't we find the youtube app in the market, or update it without manually downloading an APK. I am running stock rom, no root, and I am on version 2.1.6. Clearly there has been several updates to the app since the version I have. I am just wondering why the newer versions are "incompatible" with our phone? I mean isn't this suppose to be the latest and greatest phone that Sprint has to offer?
Not working. Any ideas?
I installed this APK and it looks great, but it doesn't work....loads a video forever!! WEIRD. I rebooted and nothing. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I tried the apk from the market without success. I eventually used titanium backup after reverting to stock nandroid. Worked flawlessly, thanks for the input.

Won't work from the market with certain Roms as there seems to be certain Verizon items removed. You can find a zip below that will work on any Rom.
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/14253-mo...to-connect/page__hl__myverizon__fromsearch__1
Flash in CWM. Then in a file explorer click go to system/apps then run the 2 files. (MyVerizon.apk, VerizonSSO.apk). After that Myverizon will work on your ROM

Did a little digging and found this from the GS2 9100 Section (not For our t989 model)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679856
claimed to fix force close for S voice on GS2 9100
...any dev figure out how to port this over to t989 or if this can even work on ours?
thanks
S voice already runs perfectly using the zip in our theMes and apps section. You just have to use a Samsung ROM for full functionality.cm9 doesn't have all the Samsung apps so you will get force closes related to that issue

I installed SVoice on the stock ICS ROM for the T989 and the network errors kept occurring until I changed build.prop. Even after I changed that however, SVoice just kept FCing. Finally gave up on it and deleted it.
I have it working great on tdj latest tmo ics and thats with touch of color theme on top. Are you flashing zip or just trying to install apk?

I installed the zip via cwm, I removed .apks from /system/app to make room for 30MB voicetalk.apk, I set permissions, I changed owners, I re-installed via root explorer, I rebooted, and was still getting FCs. I was also getting constant network errors until I edited my build.prop to mimic the s3, but I was never able to stop the FCs.
I didn't change anything with root explorer. Just flashed and darkside cache wipe and rebooted. Voila..MAGIC!!(future voice)

How do i get that stupid app back? I just deleted it this mrng lol
Just pull the apk from some stock non-debloated ROM.
I am more interested in knowing what system checks it runs before letting you rent/watch/download movies. I restored mine from TiB and when I launch it, it opens, circles and the opens again and cirles again. Never force closes or fully loads up. Almost like an app bootloop if you catch my drift.
In my Googling I found that in the older Vibrant, Media Hub would run a series of system checks before it would let you watch anything. I am wondering what it checks for (probably Root like Google Movies and Vudu) but what else? I have always just deleted it but for some reason this time I froze it.

I wonder if this will be something we can download and transfer to another device, or stream only.
Here's the apk guys. Just copy it to /ssystem/app/ and change the permissions to match other files in the same folder.
Also I don't know if it will work but I know paid version of SU lets you temp unroot. I think ota rootkeeper does as well.
So do I get to keep the movie or just watchable on that day?

I cannot get my Media Hub to stay open. It just loops and never fully stays on. I've restored, wiped apps data, replaced, cleared /cache and /dalvik and fixed permissions, defrosted all the Samsung apps and the dang app won't stay open.
I'm running Wanam's LH2 with Morfic's Alpha7b atm but think I might Odin to do a little house cleaning. Any ideas anyone?
